  1. Just a quick question:I'm about to deposit some money on PS, $150-200 or so... this isn't my whole bankroll or my life savings or anything like that (otherwise I'm aware of the correlation between preferred stakes and BR), but it's all I wanna throw online at the time.To build up my bankroll on there off just that deposit, I'm willing to grind for a whiiiiile... I'm not looking to yknow, 'get rich quick" or anything like that.Typically, live I play 1-2 or 2-4 NL (or so), and I'm very confident in my ability, so that's not the issue... buuuuut I'm only putting a small amount online for now and
  2. lol @ the part that says only a "hundred or so" people can play poker professionally.

  4. after playing and winning one of these just now due to EXTREEEEEME boredom, i can definitely vouch for the OP... the people playing these are ridiculous.i mean it's literally the people who say things like "they were suited!" as to why they called a preflop raise with 10 4 , except they MEAN it... true story.had to get lucky on a couple hands... with 5-6 left or so, my J10 sucked out on a 10-high flop when I called a similar-sized stack that had AA, and a J came on the turn.took a couple bad beats as well... the amounts of bad beats youll witness in one of these is (naturally) astronomical.b
  5. i REALLLLLLLY don't think you're allowed to sell your seat even if you're 21, unless you've already won one.if you're under 21, i REALLY doubt they let you sell one at all... you're not legally allowed to HAVE one, how could they let you sell it?hm.
  6. 9.5:1 that you actually read his post.hahaha
  7. i will say though that if this is some hypothetical where you can assume that no matter what she will never bother changing her style, then go ahead and raise with everything. but no one and i mean NO one is like that.really, i think folding even just your aaaabsolute worst hands preflop will keep her playing your game when you can really take advantage of it.
  8. thats really all i was saying... not that you shouldnt be over-aggresive preflop, but that if you don't eventually mix it up, and you just keep raising your worst hands regardless, it's only going to start working against you... i just don't like ANY rule that says "do ______ EVERY time" in poker. in other words, normally bad hands like 5/6o become "raisable" but i'm just plain not going to go as far as to say raise preflop with 27o, 83o, 29o, etc.it's not like i don't agree with you guys, just not completely.
  9. Give her more chance to hit?You basically implied she's gonna call almost anything preflop, so why would your raising with an awful hand preflop serve you any purpose? THATS giving her more chances to take your money, not the other way around.By awkward post flop decisions I meant... so you raise with rags, she calls, the flop doesnt hit you (since again, you played rags) and you bet to get her off, and she calls.do you shut down on the turn or push harder? probably shut down, since you said she doesnt call the flop with anything less than good, but I can just see too many hands like this h
  10. already having committed 360 and the flop being of a decent size, i think this is where you make your stand. He would have played the hand the same way with J10, A10, JJ, 99, 88, and maybe more depending on your read of the guy.or... he saw you raised preflop, bet a decent size at a ragged flop, and then check the turn after being called. once he saw all that he put you on a busted AK/AQ type hand, and is trying to get you off it.i think, i think, at this point you make your stand. calling is silly since there's almost no way youll improve on the river, and so many scare cards that can come.
  11. im new to the forum myself.hello.
  12. not to nitpick but the term is loose-passive.with this sort of player, you need to raise your premium hands very hard preflop, more than 3x BB, and fold your so-so hands... why raise with bad hands preflop when you know she'll call almost every time? that just leaves you with an awkward decision post-flop... don't bother. if every hand you see a flop you're going in with a real advantage, it just makes sense that thinsg will work out.post-flop your play should be obvious... if she checks you can bet with almost anything, make it small because she'll fold anyways and why risk more than you hav
