    It's Hot.

Greatest. Faux Paux. Ever.Yesterday was the worst it's been since I got to Korea, and honestly, the first time that we hit triple digits. I think it was 105.It dropped back down into the mid-90s. People were complaining a week ago when it was like...90. The heat index being 90. Considering that same week, my hometown was hitting 125 on the heat index, I didn't quite get the complaints.

I worry about the Great Firewall of China blocking out certain sites I frequent.I know unless I get a VPN, I won't be on Facebook for a while. Apparently the person who hired me knows how to get on Facebook within China, so that should help.Like, the only Social Network site I can get on is Myspace. *facepalm*Google+ got blocked instantly from what I hear. But you know I'm still around from time to time. Wish I could say that about everybody.

    Dear Ouch 8-s

Actually Shake, to answer your question, if you're willing to really invest a pretty penny into a laptop, Falcon Northwest makes models with good speakers.http://www.falcon-nw.com

  8. Nope, I'm going to be there on Friday. And there is Tokyo Tower, but I don't know if that has a good view of Miyagi Prefecture
  9. @RAC: fish market doesnt really interest me. seeing a shrine or two wouldnt be too bad. im kind of used to seeing temples when im in korea, but i dont know if the architecture/decor would be different in japan.it will be too late for cherry blossoms, i'll be there july 1st. but no complaints, i've seen them in seoul and was happy i got to. dang. should've put that instead of call girls. i'm slipping.
  10. As the title implies, I'm going to be in Tokyo on an overnight layover between Seoul, Korea, and home. Exact time of my layover is 17.5 hours, customs times and commutes notwithstanding. I also have to change airports from Narita to Haneda, so that does involve a commute that involves leaving Chiba (where Narita is), and heading into Tokyo. Rather than heading straight to Haneda, and trolling around the airport until my flight, I want to do a little bit of sightseeing while I'm there.I may have a friend (an American living in Tokyo) able to help me out with accomodations. (Delta doesn't, Am

Yeah, I wondered if my fiance was also the cause of my single gray hair. But then I remembered that I used to play Razz.
  13. I watched a documentary on either TLC or Discovery about a decade ago about this. And it's true, in terms of disaster relief in Japan during Tsunamis, quakes, and typhoons, the Yakuza are large contributors to the relief effort. It boggles the mind, but even the seedy element of Japanese society have it engrained into their moral structure to pitch in for the greater good of the country. Such a polar opposite here to say, the mafia.

  16. You'd be surprised. Quite a large number of those posters also fall in that age range. Not well over 30, but around 30 or so. Old enough to know better.Of course you have your adolescents and college kids trying to act cool, but it's the middle-agers that are leading the march, which is pretty disgusting.
  17. This whole thing is just horrible.I know people over there. They're ok, but it's still pretty scary. especially since I was in Narita almost this time last year. Kind of freaky. I was also supposed to be going on a mission trip to Japan in '09, and the place they were wanting to send me was Sendai. Things just couldn't work out. What's freaky is in a forum full a degens, there is more sympathy than on a forum full of video game nerds. A thread on a forum full of people who buy TONS of Japanese products are more insensitive than you guys.I think that speaks well of you.
  18. Man but what if I don't want to be that old anymore?!Speaking of old, why is everyone saying RIP Doyle? No disrespect to Brunson for the old comment.
