  1. I really am making an effort to be around more often!!! I really do like and miss all you guys, especially you, Renae!Busy busy busy... 2 closings end of June, plus a few more listings to take in the next few weeks... and me and the hermanita are driving up to North Carolina to surprise my Dad for Father's Day. Me, her, and the Dog are heading up there this weekend on a surprise visit to take Dad to see Ocean's 13 for Father's Day. They've been gone for 2 weeks so far and will be gone for another two weeks, this time. Are there any other Vegas trips planned this year?
  2. You guys better take a billion pictures in Vegas!!! Especially ones that involve:A) AlcoholB ) SheepC) Pillow fightsD) Strip ClubsE) anything else I forgot to mention
  3. hahahaThe herp cleared up long ago. I'm in remission now.AND FOR THE RECORD IN CASE THERE'S SOME MISUNDERSTANDING...It was actually a horrific shaving accident... not herpes. Just so we're all clear.Man... I really wish I could go to Vegas with y'all.I fully expect someone to pull a "1-p.m.-the-next-day-bender" in my honor.
  4. Morning y'all!Definitely won't be able to make it to Vegas next weekend. I really did take a look at it, but the finances just aren't where they need to be. Might be going July 17-20 for a real estate conference (also happens to be right during the middle of the Main Event... hmmmmmmmmm...) and some friends at work who are WAAAAAAAY crazier than I can imagine are going in September.Just updated my photo on my website... www.StephenKrieger.com . Lemme know what you think... we took and photoshopp'ed about 30 pictures and that's the one that came out least bad.
  5. I like betting more on the turn as well.Maybe a little over the pot, like $1.20.
  6. I agree with Des Moines, it's very read dependent.I don't mind checking the flop to him, because he got in the last bet preflop.I think if you do want to move in, the best place to make a stand is to check/push on the flop. Give him the tough decision, and take away postflop decisions on later streets.
  7. No disrespect, but the format that you posted this hand won't always get you the most constructive of criticism.Don't reveal results, it will skew the thinking of the responses.Just post your hand, the stack sizes, the bet sizes, and how much is in the pot on each street. Then ask specific questions, like "How much and should I be betting the turn?"I like betting the turn. If you read that he's on a draw you can't give away a free card on a coordinated board. How much did you raise preflop?I might throw in a little 3x raise in late position with KJs with a bunch of limpers up front, because I
  8. I think you have to bet the turn here. His turn check is the first part of a check/fold very frequently. We can just fold if he check/raises the turn. We're ahead of a lot, and pocket pairs fold sometimes for the turn bet.Check thru the river if he calls, fold if he raises, stack chips if he folds!Position, preflop raise, it all compounds our fold equity here.
  9. I feel generally the same way.If he's a tight passive player, why not give him a chance to call down with his QQ?I realize deception value is what you're going for here, but I think you'll make more money pedal to the metal. Cap flop, bet/3bet flop, turn, and river.Hypothetical question to support my point:What do you do if he had 3-bet your check/raise on the turn K? He might have hit KK, or he might be reasserting his AK. In any event, you'd have to call down anyway. So why not spend the money building up fold equity and extracting value on earlier streets?
  10. We've represented overpair the whole way and the board just straightened out. I would even go so far as to say A9 c/r'ing the river would be a fairly solid calculated risk... especially against tight/passives.
  11. I'd rather make a bet-sized river mistake than a pot-sized river mistake. This is also a great spot for Villain to bluff.I respectfully submit that we have to call a river check/raise.
  12. I lean towards tending to c-bet anyway. AK UI is good some of the time, therefore a c-bet may have value... plus realizable fold equity. And, "psychotic aggression" is an image I like to cultivate.Love the turn fold. Nice hand.
  13. I give up the pot because there are 41 overcards (52 - four 2's - four 3's - Td - 4d - Qd) that are bad for our hand that are coming off for the turn.I would have auto-raised AK and auto-bet most flops, so whether or not AK is ahead here isn't relevant. And the pot's small and we're out of position.
  14. Without reading replies...When BB checks the turn, I'm definitely betting. A free card would be disastrous, especially with a passive CO behind us.We can also make CO fold a better ace (though not all the time if he's passive). In any event it'll cause him to question ace-brick.I like the river lead as well.I say you're not TOO crazy... and "standard!"
  15. Almost a 7 BB pot on the river with an overpair and no paired board?I've seen sillier plays than the ol' river check/raise with air... on a board that straightens out... with a hand that can be read fairly easily as "playing defense" from the betting.
  16. It's a nice thought... And I love you cultivating that aggression, but remember...Out of position. Small pot. Worse-than-marginal holding. Also, it doesn't irk us terribly bad if a LP limper makes a stealin' play and we have to fold our 3rd pair in a 1.75 BB pot.
  17. No no no! We have to bet the river. A9s calls 100% of the time... and all sorts of other weird hands from bad players will give this river bet value. Just because us tight aggressive players wouldn't end up on the river without a hand that could beat TT, there are so many worse, passive players out there that will call with a lot of things. ESPECIALLY at these stakes. And calling a river check/raise is an instantaneous easy decision.
  18. Without reading replies...I prefer bet/3-betting to check/raising this flop. Out of position, with the preflop raiser last to act, and on a somewhat draw-y board, I don't think the deception value of check/raising for small bets can make to the pot you might be able to build with a flop lead and a bunch of loose callers between you and the raiser. The check/raise over 2 bets screams "monster" and your hand has a better chance of being underestimated for some junk 2-pair for a bet/3-bet.Like the turn lead... that is probably a bad card but we still have to lead. 10 outs to fill up even if we
  19. Call preflop.Definitely check/fold the flop. I have a rule that I say to myself over and over again, because chip-spewing has been known to be a leak of mine, believe it or not:Every time I lead flops, I say to myself "Am I about to spew into a tiny pot out of position?" We don't care that our 3rd pair might be good here... just check/fold.If the flop had checked around, I'd bet/call the turn and lead a non-D river.
  20. Without reading replies...100% standard. Value bet that river every single time.If he gets all mad, be sure to point out to him that evidently, you had and bet the best hand on every single street.
  21. heh heh.Well, I'm trying to be around more! Thought that counts, right?Okay, gone for real now. Don't be too grumpy while I'm gone, you ol' curmudgeon you!
  22. All right, y'all... I'm heading to Virginia. Don't know if I'll have any computer access while I'm gone, so I might not be around again until Saturday or so.Take care everybody!
  23. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Halo freak in here...But even if you only care about video games just a teensy tiny bit...http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?ty...s&cid=12432Scroll down to the bottom and play the video. It's effing SICK.
  24. You're allowed to go broke if that f**kstain is playing 75.You have to call this every single time. And we still have 10 outs on 75 anyway.
