I think it would be great for the WPT, because they would finally go down the path that they have avoided, which is allowing players to have logos on shirts/hats/etc. If this comes to pass it will be great for the players, and great for the WPT, as the entrants for these events will double, due to the fact that online sites will start running many more satalites.

Oops, thank you, and to the other clown who feels the need to be insulting to people screw you. I fixed the original title. By the way, I heard that Doyle was giving out bricks of cash too.

Playing .50/1.00 limit, is a bit different than playing $10,000 No limit with a rail three deep, and ESPN there to catch every bone head move/statement.That being said, I had a blast, would do it again in a heartbeat, and to the guy to my right who looked like he was ready to puke, you should not be playing if you can't have a good time.

You are definitely wrong about the $25 tip thing being common place. I have asked about 10 different dealers at Bellagio if they like dealing that game. All of them said NO emphatically. I then asked them why, and they all stated that the tips suck. Most of them went on to say that they would much rather deal $4/$8, than $4,000/$8,000.

I forgot to tell you all about something funny that happend. During the main event this dude sits down at our table. He looked like he was in a hurry to get out of there, as he was playing just about every pot. Anyway, turns out he is a programmer for Doyal's room. He gives us all passes to this party the next night. I thought it was some lame promotion, I didn't know that it was Doyal's Birthday party, so I completely blew it off. Man I was pissed when I read Josh's blog a few days later, and he was talking about this great party, that everyone was at.

Ok now to answer the OP's question. Yes I heard that there was a BIG WINNER. Despite what others have said in this thread the big winner for this trip was Gus Hannsen. I heard that he won over two million in one night. Guess that helps him settle up with Doyal and the boys.

Thats exactly what they should have had. I don't know when it changed, but while I was there you had to stand behind the table that you wanted to play at, then wrestle for the seat once it opened. I was greatful though, as I have been going back and forth between playing tourneys and cash games. Mid way through the main event I realized that the cash games have been F'ing with my tourney strategy. I have decided to go back to playing only tournaments for now.

Poker DB does an excellent job of tracking tourney results, but I think that it only tracks Stars tourneys.

Here is what I know about those players:bigslick789 - Once went allin every hand for the first hour of a rebuy. I had 48K at the break. He is definitely a great player. During a rebuy tourney he has the philosophy that he does not mind giving the other players at his table a bunch of chips, because he will have the opportunity to take them back after the break. On occasion this philosophy causes him to have a HUGE stack by break time, but if not that is fine with him too. He almost always has at least 12K by the break.lakefront - Nice guy, one of the best players on the site.gank - Aggres

I agree day one was completely rediculous. I actually thought to myself afterward, I might not be cut out for this. The next morning I came to my senses. People have no idea what it is like trying to make perfect decisions for 15 hours straight, trying to pay attention to everything that happens, remember what every player at your table says/does, replaying every hand in your head, and at some point put all of that information together to help you make a decision which is worth 10's of thousands, if not millions of dollars.

fcp logo contest winners surprise announcement!

Does anyone still need a guest? Can't blame me for trying right. -
In my opinion the payout is just one of the items that they bungled. I don't understand how they were able to adjust the payouts so that each player at the final table was paid one million, when the payout structure was clearly defined on there own website, although why should that stop them, just about everything that was printed on the website was incorrect:1. The levels were listed as two hour levels, only to be changed to 1:40 levels, without any sort of notification. I was unaware of this change until the start of level two.2. The facilities were grosly inadequate to handle the numbe

pokerstars donates $3.5 million to wsop prize pool

I cashed for $0, but the bag they gave me was worth more than the $15 entry fee so I am still ahead. -

It always amazes me though that once people get to heads up play they just chuck all of the chips in and hope for the best. I think they played like 4 hands, and the blinds were not really an issue. If it were me playing we might still be going at it, unless I had already trapped the guy. All the short stack needed to do is double up once to take the chip lead. I didn't see what lead to his downfall though, so maybe he just found himself in a bad situation. -
We played at that table one night after they were done filming and I could not believe what people were doing. The only thing that you have to watch out for is the "Schooling" effect. For those who don't know thats when a group of fish get together and kick your ... People do not fold preflop, no matter how much you make it to go.

fcp logo contest winners surprise announcement!
LAPoker replied to DanielNegreanu's topic in General Poker Forum
Man I knew I should have submited a logo. Oh well, I guess I will have to scrounge through my piggy bank to find the 500K then. Maybe I will be like neverwin and get backers, perhaps each of you could send me $40. By the way, in case you backers need proof as to my abilities, I did last longer than Daniel in the main event, but then again so did Moneymaker. In the event that the four of you have all of your family and friends pass on during the next week, feel free to contact me, and I would be happy to stand in as your guest. -
He has that, "I want to get rid of this last three thou, punch the dealer in the face, and leave" look on his face.

if raymer wins is he the next brunsen or chan
LAPoker replied to royyoung's topic in General Poker Forum
I don't think that Raymer will beat out Ivey, not to mention Mattasow, but I really don't think that it matters either. Making it to the top 27 even, after winning it last year, is among the greatest accomplishments of all time, and when you look at how he has done it I am even more stunned. He has never had a time during this years event when he wasn't an above average chip stack. My vote for the final two would be Mattasow Vs. Raymer, I would imagine that the ESPN producers are in church this morning praying for that as well. -

I wouldn't exactly say that he has had a cake walk. Just because you might not have heard of some of the people at his tables does not mean that he is playing in the fish tank. I will agree that some of the players definitely should not have been playing that event (especially the guy who called my allin with KQ off suit, but thanks for the double up buddy). The problem is that even with these players in the main event, they can still get lucky and hammer you. For him to make it to this point is one of the greatest accomplishments in history already, and if he wins it is definitely the gre -
I concur, I don't know who he is, what he looks like, how strong he is, or how big of a dork he is, but I think I could take him.Dude you two are a couple of tools. You have no idea what it is like to play that event. I can only imagine with millions of dollars on the line, fighting for your life for days on end. I really want to play another one to see if I have what it takes, but after playing just 14 hours of the main event my brain felt like mush. We not only had more people watching us all day than most final tables, with the rail two and three deep, but ESPN cameras there to catch e

LAPoker replied to BigDMcGee's topic in General Poker Forum
Hey thank you guys for your help. One more question does this site bring out all of the lunatics who want to discuss what the odds of getting K3 back to back are, or is this the case with every site. -

One time I had A4, and the flop came AA4, can someone help me figure out what the odds of that happening are? -

anyone know how much a good card shuffler costs?
LAPoker replied to Aquaman68's topic in General Poker Forum
Shuffle master will not sell them to you unless you happen to be a licensed casino, the deckmate ones which go in the table are $14,000, so I doubt you are interested even if they would sell you one. Like the earlier poster stated, they usually lease them to the casinos anyway. -

LAPoker replied to BigDMcGee's topic in General Poker Forum
What about back to back while playing in the WSOP. Man those cards were sick today. Then the luck continued tonight when I played the $11 rebuy, a guy pushes with pocket 2's, and I have AQ. Out 100th tourney pays 99 lmao.
