  1. the idea is your opponent is going to draw regardless of the pot size, so if the pot is large he is getting the correct odds to draw, whereis if we keep the pot small he is not getting sufficient odds to try and draw out.

    ok bye.

why you leaving. I have never read one of your posts but always been excited when you did indeed post
  3. Was bored so went through some very old hand histories, thought i would post something. Not a great hand but something (maybe) worth looking at. Bettem31 is at seat 0 with $7.50. BoardStr8 is at seat 1 with $96. w is at seat 2 with $31.25. StrykerLee is at seat 3 with $59. dan1012 is at seat 4 with $59.50. sarah1239 is at seat 5 with $0 (sitting out). The button is at seat 2. StrykerLee posts the small blind of $.50. dan1012 posts the big blind of $1. Bettem31: -- -- BoardStr8: -- -- w: Kc Th StrykerLee: -- -- dan1012: -- --Pre-
  4. I actually dont mind not 3 betting pf here, as long as you think forfeiting one small bet pf will at least make it up to you postflop due to the disguise.Flop play is fine, you have so much of it unlikely his hand can take much heat. What are you doing checking the turn? Dont like this play at all. You are giving free cards to two gutshots, and 2 flushdraws (admitedly you would think he would bet out again if he had FD). Yeh, bet the turn, if he folds he folds., sometimes you hit monsters and cantdo anything about it.
  5. I see what you are saying, however:Say we have AJ and we dont raise and the flop comes A 6 2 rainbow. If we bet out we wont get called unless someone else has an ace, and we miss out on really punishing our opponents loose tendencies.Say we have KJ, flop comes J 7 4 rainbow- we will get called down by a 7 and even perhaps a 4 if we raise preflop, for 2 reasons- the pot is large, so our opponents naturally tend to chase more, and they may put us on a hand like Aq or AK and figure their hand is good- this i have seen alot.My general style is just to bash up on my opponents as often as i can when
  6. I must say i find it much easier to fold here because i dont enjoy calling multiple bets cold on the expensive street unless i know im going to win if i hit.
  7. Probably raise the flop in hand 2.Hand 1, id be prepared to cap it on the river at .25/.50, so many hands that players would play aggressively you can still beat- 78, 47, smaller flush, you are basically worried about a full house here, and to a much lesser extent the A high flush, still worth capping.
  8. yep...If he is always C/R the turn call his raise, the pop it if we make our straight on the river, otherwise call.
  9. On another side note, i think this is a classic case of drawing to the 2nd best hand. Either the 2nd flush, or say a 9 to the sucker straight to AQ.
  10. Bad habit I suppose, so easy to just post when on stars if you click auto post blinds it auto posts for you to begin with. :-) What do you think of folding the turn?To me this seems the obvious play, for several reasons.1) UTG could very well have AQ, in which case we are drawing to 3 outs to split the pot given no one has already made a flush. It could be 2 outs if somone is holding the A 2) We are behind and drawing dead. Very likely- somone has made a smaller flush, and one of the other players still has the A , in which case we are drawing dead.3) What are we hoping everyone has? someo
  11. I like a C/C on the river. As mentioned main straight draw, JQ got there. If he has a busted flush draw or some other draw, he may attempt a bluff given he has been checked into twice in a row.Further if you bet and he does ave a busted draw, he will 99% fold, so you basically gain nothing from betting alot of the time. Also what if he now raises the river. Fold?
  12. I am not surprised most posters here are winning players- the general way seems to be tight, and at lower limits this should be enough to win due to your opponents playing rubbish and you capitilising through your superior hand selection. However, i am trying to show how you can win more, and raising with good hands is a must.On a side note, i am not surprised to hear the response that i am basically arrogant. It is my single bigget downfall in poker, the ego, and it is where i have to improve most. I get far to pissed off when shitty players draw out with shitty hands even though i know it has
  13. maybe i am, but i am also right. I agree that there are marginal situations to discuss- these are what we call tough decisions. But it is not a tough decision to raise AQ here.In a full ring game do you raise AQ here?
  14. Im not sure what better way to back something up with results? And how often do you see people limp with worse hands 6 handed than they do full ring ?
  15. Ahahahahahahahah. The situation is no different than when you have 3 loose limpers to you in the BB in a full game.3 very very loose limpers maybe. But in a full game 3 limpers =3/9 = 33% of the fieldhere= 3/5 =60% of the field- implies worse holdings. For the last time here just raise with AQ if you like money.AJ also.I will accept reservation on A10 o/s, but im still raising a fair % of the time.No.Loose players hands will not be that different relative to our hand just because a smaller % of players are limping in in a full game. When we raise, we are building a pot OOP relying solely on high c
  16. you mean for this hand, or always c/c is bad?you can never make a blanket statement like c/c is bad. Here it is though.
  17. For the last time here just raise with AQ if you like money.AJ also.I will accept reservation on A10 o/s, but im still raising a fair % of the time.
  18. I will always raise with AJ off here, and sometimes with A 10- i dont go any lower than A10 OOP.My point was AQ isnt even close to being borderline- it is a significantly better holding than 3 limpers 6 handed- 3/5=60% of the field is limping- highly likely with rubbish.Thats why 6max games are so good, people think playing crap is a good idea.
  19. Even better. We bet the turn OOP, and our opponent calls.River comes a rag, what do we do now?If we check and he bets, do we call?Just thought id spark some further debate.
  20. bet the turn again when checked into, and check behind on the river if you dont improve. Id think thats a better play for 2 main reasons- one you are charging drawing hands (JT being the main one) to hit, giving free cards is the ultimate sin in LHE.Secondly, you may get a tight player (or not even that tight) to fold 2nd or 3rd pair, both of which beat you at showdown.
  21. OK. Guess you aren't interested in having a real poker discussion.Me raising preflop probably won't cause anyone to make an incorrect decision. Anything they limped with is worth a call getting 5 to 1 or more. This will also make it correct to call with any reasonable hand postflop.By checking preflop, I make it more likely that opponents will make a mistake postflop, thus winning me Ultimate Sklansky Points. I don't think it's that interesting a discussion. AK is an easy raise. AT is an easy check. AJ is somewhat borderline, probably a check. AQ is somewhat borderline, probably a raise
  22. so, do you think he should fold the turn?are you trying to be funny?
  23. how can you not raise here in a 6max game. From your posts you seem better, but this is nothing short of horrible. How do you make money playing limit holdem- finding fishies. Why do you like fishies- because they play crap that is less likely to win then the hands you play. How do you make money from this? Raise your premium holdings, and punish them, and then thank them for making it so easy. This isnt even remotely close to a borderline decision. With 3 other players in, im raising worse hands than AQ out of the BB.
  24. preflop is questionable, from there on its fine.On a side note, why does 90% of the posters here think that passive bs poker is the way to go? c/c the flop? wtf. where does that leaves you when a non ace or 6 turn card comes, which will happen 90% of the time.People, show some goddam aggression. KingAustin played the flop correctly.
  25. tighten up, adjust your game, and punish this SOB for raising with shit.
