  1. Have found in recent mothd that limping with decent to marginal hands UTG gives you a really good idea where you stand without too much risk. Also players seem to give a little respect to all bets, even a limp, from under the gun. Bet substantial coin, remember a small win is a hell of a lot better that a huge loss. Make people pay for cracking your power pairs. They WILL try to, and some will do it, but make them pay for the privilege.
  2. Peolple are people and different people will respond to situations in a way that they feel is right. However DN or Harry D. or Phil Ivey or anybody else responds to the situation is a result of how they feel they can best address the issue based on what they know of the circumstances surrounding the event. The real question is what in the name of all that is holy is Harrah's doing. If I spend $1 or $10 or $1000 or $10000 or $100000 on anything from a candybar to a car, then there are responsibilities that the seller is obliged to live up to. 3. while i applaud DN and all the other poker pros who are trying to put out poker video games, the simple fact is that any AI developed cannot possibly hope to compete with human poker players, and we already have any number of ways to play online from play money to the upper limits. Difficult to say if your play with raising pre-flop was okay or not, you were at the table and had a feel for who was doing what, and a big stack is suppose to be as aggressive as possible, but you have to fold when you meet heavy resistance. I mean, you still would have had 60 or 70k left and had a chance to get your money in with a lot better odds later. Easy to say, but I have the same leak in my game, and it is tough, tough, tough to lay down any hand that you have invested chips in, but ya dont have to like it, ya just got to do it.
  7. Silliest gaw damd thing i have seen on this site, 'cept of course for elvis.
  8. gonna have to crack griffin, he seems pretty relentless
  9. I have lurked for weeks on this board and I finally see something that I really have to talk about. The point of this whole post seems to have skewed towards how should he have played the hand. While this is important, the key thing here is that you mistrusted your instinct, turned you back on them and paid dearly. Funny, every time I do that it costs me a fortune too. You ignored what you knew to be true, so say 50 Hail Mary's for penance and forget about it. BUT YOU DID READ THE SITUATION CORRECTLY. Take some solace in that. When you can take that knowledge and do the right thing, THEN all
