  3. First off WHY?????? This strategy makes no sense. Second you are beating nothing when he raises you. When the turn card hits I would be trying to show it down as cheap as possible. I would just check it down, probably fold to any pot sized bet. Any hand you beat isn't going to bet, and is drawing pretty slim. There is no reason to lead here to "protect" top pair bad kicker and betting it for value is horrible. Buy in for more than 20 BB then you won't have to stack off in this spot, and can play actual poker.
  4. With him putting in a 4th bet I'd say I'm behind a lot of the time. 8 outs to a boat would be a 3-1 underdog, so I'm not getting the proper immediate odds. Also the guy will only have a buck left so I don't have much in the way of implied odds. Give the guy a full buy in and I'd probably just call, but I think its push or fold in this spot.

  6. The one problem I see with bet/fold is that the pot was right around the size of my stack. If I bet the pot I'm all in, anything else I'm probably pot commited unless I knew for a fact my flush draw is no good.No one has a problem with the play on the flop? Maybe a little aggressive/risky but not horrible? I'm thinking the right play is check behind on the turn trying to make the flush. In the actual hand I did bet the turn, but I think it was because I didn't fully analyze the situation. I've found out lately that I can usually get folds by firing a second continuation bet after recievin

  8. You will run into maybe 1 player in 1000 at .05/.10 that is going to bluff raise you in that spot. If he doesn't have any pair, which most of the hands he calls you with don't, hes not gonna call. Your getting called by so many Ax or Kx suited hands, actually pretty much any suited cards depending on the player. Unless hes got a Q, 7 or a pocket pair you probably take it down. The only time I would check this flop is if I have a really bad table image, or am trying to tighten up my image. As far as the turn, everyone seems to like betting out here but I think otherwise. He checked behind
  9. Assuming this guy is a decient player this very well could be why he pushed the turn. A quick call of a bet or raise usually means one thing, a good but not great hand. By calling so quick your telling him, my hand is good enough to call but not good enough to even think about reraising. In which case he can probably put you on something like two pair, smaller set, maybe top pair with the As redraw, ect. I'd say with the push he probably put you on the As draw. Many players are going to bet the nut flush draw then just call a raise. His turn bet obviously doesn't want a call so hes proba
  10. Yeah I probably don't check fold, I just didn't really want to go into all the thought of what I would do because so many things could happen with 4 players behind. Saying I would check the flop has nothing to do with the fact that the hero was raised on this actual hand. I just don't really want to build the pot out of position because in my mind I don't see how I get a call by worse hands. Granted my level of thinking is probably way above an average donks. I look at this hand and go, wow if I was the villian I'm slowing down anything but the straight on the turn. The problem with this
  11. I realize we're way ahead of every thing but J10 here. Tell me how many people in the villans shoes push in that turn without the straight after our flop bet was called? I think if the money goes into the pot on turn 75% of the time we're against the straight, 25% we get a really bad call.
  12. This hand is the exact example why a good player plays J10s with a raise and a call. Just the raise I think its marginal, but with a call in the middle I play that all day long. I know UTG has one of 5 or 6 hands, he has no clue what I hold. If I flop top two or a straight, people don't fold big pairs, I take his stack. Implied odds 101.Either way I hate pushing that flop. Let him bet it on the turn then call or raise is much better. We lose equity from hands that we beat, and get called when we're behind.
  13. What do you call with in villian's spot? Maybe KK or QQ? Well you would have reraised them preflop 90% of the time. So odds are you don't have any of those hands. AK? We know 3 aces are dead so odds of this are slim there as well. KQ? Horrible play to raise, even worse to call off 100bb on that board. J10s? Preflop after a raise and a call, yup that definetly gets played. Raises the flop? You betcha. If we push and get called we're behind more than ahead. The more I think about it I just like checking this flop. I know this is gonna get some more "WHAT" and "SERIOUS" remarks as pl
  14. Unless were talking agro donk what does bet pot on that turn that we beat. Put you self in villians spot. Lets say you flopped anything other than the straight. you raise that flop then fire big on the turn with out the nuts in this spot. I sure don't. Heres how I anaylze this hand from the villians seat. Unless I've got a read you raise garbage from under the gun, that flop hits every hand that gets raised from that position. You "contiunation bet" into 4 players, I raise, then you call . Whats your range to call there, a set or AK, anything else is a horrible call in my opinion.
  15. Okay missed that, never mind, still think hes got a big hand but the changes the way i play it. I always have a bad feeling about small raises out of the blinds, just call preflop, same line as i mentioned before after the flop. This guy is pretty passive no point blowing half a buy in cause we "think hes on tilt"
  16. Gotta bet there, checking is just conceding the pot. Two aces on the board decreases our oppents chances of having one, this is actually a better flop than just having one ace hit I think. Bet between 50-60, maybe even as low as 45. Even if the bet looks weaker our opponent would need some balls to bluff that flop. Pretty much anything in that range gets a fold unless we're against trips so why bet more than you have to for the times we get raised.
  17. I don't think I like pushing here cause we're only getting called if were beat most of the time. Maybe we get calls from KK or QQ but give the preflop action I'd couldn't put anyone on one of those two hands. A lot of two pair hands might put in a raise like this to see where they stand, but do they really call a push. We raised under the gun, bet the flop into 4 other players, then reraised all in on that coordinated of a board. You don't like money if you call with two pair in that spot. Someone mentioned why would J10 not just smooth call. Couple different reasons I can think of there
  18. I'd put in a small reraise her prelfop to like $6-8. Fold if he pushes. Yeah you say this guys on tilt put look at his stats. Thats the most passive tilt i've ever seen. This guy hardly every raises, if he raises you twice I'd say your beat. As played I just call the flop simply because we can't stand a reraise. Probably fold the turn to a large bet. This guy is making small raises that look like they want a call. When was the last time you saw someone on tilt making small bets and raises with garbage? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say pretty much never.
  19. I could see a couple different lines you could take here. First would be raise, making it like 12 or 15. Unless villian has a strong ace he proably can't reraise. It should also shut out the button and small blind increasing out chances of hitting two pair and it being good. We may also take it down right here if villian raised a hand like A6s fearing he was beat. If the villian just calls we can usually get a free card on the turn by checking behind. The one downside to this play is if the villian repops it your pot commited and around a coin flip for 140 bb's. A positive to that thoug
  20. You cannot check that flop ever if you want to know where you stand in the hand. You an made a fairly small reraise out of the blinds against a player who allready came in raising from pretty early position. What hands does he put you on there, AA-QQ and maybe JJ or AK. That is unless he has a read otherwise, but a reraise out of the blinds is gonna be one of those 4 hands 90% of the time. Unless its an extremely loose player who like to play big pots out of position with marginal cards. Then you don't bet out on an ace high flop. Now, as long as your a fairly tight player who doesn't ge
  21. You probably won't remember, but what was the speed he bet out at? Was it a quick bet or did he pause for a couple seconds before acting. Alot of players tend to fire out pretty fast with weak hands or bluffs trying to get you to fold. I think if he has a king in that spot he will be thinking of how much he can bet to get maximum value from his hand, so it wouldn't be an immediate bet. Its allready been said but, this bet looks like it doesn't want a call. Couple that with it comming out pretty quick, I'd read that as a bluff, and call.
  22. This kind of bet works more often than you could believe. It looks like a steal because it looks like we don't want a call and therefore over bet the pot in an attempt to discourage one. Our opponent thinks why would we bet that much if we had the nuts, they'd expect us to make a smaller value bet. Even most .01/.02 NL players are competent enough to realize this bet this just add up. Then, their natural curiosity or desire to pick off a bluff kicks in, and they pay you off with a wide range of hands. I don't have the hand history but last weekend I was messing around playing .01/.02 NL o
  23. The fact that the first two checked wouldn't lead me to believe my hand had anymore value. If anyone hits a flop hard they usually check to the raiser anyway. With all the draws present I don't think a probe bet into 4 people tells us anything. We would need to make a pretty large stab at the pot to induce a few folds. But any draw is coming along for the ride regardless how much we bet. I still don't put it past someone to smooth call on that flop with a K. Checking here in a marginal situation should tell the table were not gonna just fire chips into the pot every time we raise preflop
  24. I wasn't talking about just this hand. Your comment seemed like a generalization to continuation bet every flop, thats what I commenting on.At first I was against it but now I think maybe betting the flop would have been corrent. I didn't like it because of all the draws and number of players in the hand. With 5 players in the pot and the number of draws, I doubt we take it down on the flop more 1 time out of 10. We gain information if we are raised, but not if we are called. There are plenty of passive players who call down with top pair weak kicker. If you get called by anyone to act b
