So I'm new to pot/no-limit and I get bored with slow play online, so I play short handed. Looking with a little more detail, I agree with you Actuary (I'm just trying to get the hang of analyzing these things). There aren't any real 2 pairs that he would play like this unless he's gotten extremely crazy with somthing like A-Q. (I need to stop assuming everythings like low-limit short handed games where this might happen a little more often)

Why aren't we raising the river?I realize K-J beats us, but it's unlikely that he has a set larger than ours and his line looks more like 2 pair to me.

They were doing maintenance on the network that was supposed to end at 11:00 EST, but I'm still having the same problem.Hopefully they'll fix it soon!

I think the problem is with the seat number labeling... it has everyone in the right relative position, it's just rotated. So the problem is probably with the hand history positions relative to the screen. There should be a way to compensate for this, I just don't know how to do it.

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I tried searching for it and couldn't find it. I just downloaded the gt+ add-on for poker tracker and when I run it, the stats are not placed in front of the correct player and I don't know how to move them.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Tyler

I'm sick of this thread.... I think it's rediculous to tell someone that they need 300 bb to sit down at the lowest limit live game they can find. Given that you don't have a 300 bb bankroll, why is it wrong to play a lower variance style? You'll still win. Playing a low variance game with a bankroll of 100 bb is a good way to build your bankroll up to 300 bb and higher. Of course this only works as long as you're playing weak enough opponents that they don't figure out your strategy, but that's usually the case in 4/8 and lower (possibly higher).

The Palmer Lake, CO reference in the article is funny. It has to be one of the most rediculous busts ever. They were playing a $10 buy in tourney and the house wasn't keeping any of it.Spending all this money on stopping poker is almost as much of a waste of time and money as the drug war.

I think they started during the first season of the WPT. Before then I think that they only used hands that ended with an all in and subsequently shown. Later they would go back and put the hands on the screen during editing.

If cardrooms are legal in your area, the lower limit live games (up to 4/8) are usually extremely loose. Most people are recreational players who are there to gamble.

I think it was a mistake to raise the flop. If he 3 bets than UTG will fold and you aren't getting the odds on your straight draw. The only reason I say this is that the 9-J straight draw isn't a hand they'll be able to put you on very easily.That said, by the way this hand has been played the villain likely has 2 pair, which possible turned into a boat. I think you just call here.
