I left a deck of Copags sitting at a strange angle with stuff on top of them and now they're bent. Anyone have any good suggestions for straightening them? I tried reversing the angle with more weight on them and it really didn't make a great deal of difference. Read "The Theory of Poker" by David Sklansky (I probably wont have spelled that correctly). It doesn't preach a method of play, just explains key concepts and gives you an insight into the math of the game. Honestly reading has improved my game tremendously and there are enough good titles to keep you busy. I'm sure there have been plenty of threads started to good book recommendations but "The Theory of Poker" would definitely be the one I recommend starting with. You might not get a lot of what your reading straight away but sooner or later you'll be looking over a hand and things will fall

That said I would have to agree with PokerEyesOut that those games are really about getting a feel for the other players at the table. The simple fact is that someone calling 3xBB raise or even a re-raise pre flop doesn't tell you that much about there hand as they really have no idea how to play the cards they have. Playing a home game last night (holdem/ omaha mix) and one of the other players asked why we were buring cards when dealing. No one had a deffinite answer; we guessed that it just made it that little bit more difficult for the dealer to cheat. Does anyone know if there is an official reason? Also do you burn cards in omaha or is it just holdem?
