SuitedAces21 2,722
hoopshype doesnt list jameer's as an option year.the word about the lakers is that dwight says he wont sign an extension there, so the lakers wont do it.
DJ Vu 176
well hoopshype doesnt list jameer's as an option year. but even if jameer and dwight leave they'll still be around 60 million. They're still paying Gilbert Arenas's $20 million (holy crap), but it doesn't count against the cap (amnesty!).So $45 million even with Jameer.Hoops World: Jameer Nelson, Orlando Magic – $7.8 million – Player Option ($7.8 million)I don't know, maybe he already exercised the option? Can you do that this early?Anyway, I think if you're Orlando you don't trade Dwight just to trade him. You actually have to get real value coming back, not just whatever the best offer is. DJ Vu 176
More Howard news.“I know basketball. I’m not a body language expert,” said general manager Otis Smith. “But the fact that Dwight was making a wanking motion the whole time he was talking makes me wonder if he wasn’t 100-percent serious. Especially how when he said ‘I want to remain with the Magic for my entire career,’ he pretended to ejaculate into the air and then he slumped over like he was dead.”Howard insists he was serious in his statements about staying a member of the Magic.“Oh, yeah. Totally serious. What would make you think I was being sarcastic,” he asked, now furiously faux-wanking with both hands while rolling his eyes.“Dwight is only 26 and is one of the best big men to come along in years, but I’m sure that even at this late date we can get a fair return for him in a trade,” general manager Smith said with a wanking motion. FCP Bob 1,312
after all this nonsense, he agrees to come back next year instead of opting out? fuck you dwight.I don't think he's said that. The reports that I read said that he told his teammates that he was committed for the rest of this season.
DJ Vu 176
Who knows what has really been said. But being reported..."Dwight Howard has told several teammates, as well as members of the Orlando Magic organization, that he will not opt out of his contract at the end of this season, sources close to the situation said. That would mean Howard would remain under contract in Orlando through the 2012-2013 season.Howard has not signed a waiver of his early termination option at this point, which means nothing is guaranteed yet. Both Howard and his representation must sign the documentation."

SuitedAces21 2,722
the good news about this dwight situation is it should lead the nets to try and trade DWILL. so maybe the lakers can swoop in with a pau and picks offer for DWILL. that would be so tits.

DJ Vu 176
lol at this ever-changing story.Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBASeveral sources already believe he's second-guessing that incredible change of heart, and Magic still on phones talking trades with teams.I don't know why Minny wants to add a shoot-first guy to a team that is winning with ball movement. BigDMcGee 3,352
I think the magic would be better of letting him walk than trading him for something llike 60% of his value. The worst thing that could happen for this team is to trade him for something that was just good enough to make them a 6-8 seed. IF he leaves they need to blow things up and try their luck in the lottery.

DJ Vu 176
^^^^ That's not good.Marc Stein:Two sources w/knowledge of Nets' thinking say Nets would reject Gasol-for-DWill offer IF Lakers make that pitch before 3 PM trade deadlineSources say Lakers already DID offer Gasol-centric package for D-Will in December and Nets turned it down. First (real) day of the tournament and the NBA trading deadline. Going to be a fun day.The Blazers need to blow up that team. Coach included. They are a disaster. The Heat just never make any sense to me. Does this hurt D-Rose's MVP chances? The Bulls beat the Heat without him?Note: I'm talking about his chances of winning the award, not deserving it. Lebron is so far and away better than anyone else this year it's a little silly. FCP Bob 1,312
Barbosa and his expiring contract to Indiana for a 2nd round pick. The pacers are under the cap and can take on his contract and the Raptors didn't want to take on anything beyond this year. Good trade for both teams.
DJ Vu 176
Agree. But obviously not a game-changer.So Howard signed his whatever it is he had to sign to not become a free agent this summer.Looks like Gerald Wallace going to NJ for a top-3 protected draft pick and some spare parts (Okur, Shawne Williams). Remember when I was suggesting a trade involving Wallace and Bynum? I hope not. (It wasn't a straight up deal, but still.)I assume this means Deron Williams isn't being traded anywhere. DJ Vu 176
Lakers get Ramon Sessions for draft pick.Edit: Apparently Luke Walton included, so the Lakers still have their trade exception.
DJ Vu 176
Marcus Camby to Houston. I guess the Blazers really are blowing it up. (For Flynn and Thabeet.)San Antonio trades Richard Jefferson to Golden State for Captain Jack.
