PillyPill 0
Hey guys. I have not played NL HE cash games in a long time as I am a wuss. I was wondering how to calculate how much I should buy in. As I keep bugging you guys about, I am going out to Vegas. So if you want to talk about a casino and use real limits that they have there, that would be great! I want to play NLHE cash out there one day. Thanks!
Dubey 1,035
depends on your bankroll. Most people will tell you to buy in the max which is usually 200. However, on a limited roll, buying in for 100 or 150 can be profitable although it allows you almost no "play" at most tables where the preflop raise is 15-20.Most casinos in Vegas allow you to buyin between 100-200. MGM is 40-200. Ceasar's is 100-500 and I think the Golden Nugget has a game with no cap.

pokergoat 0
Always buy in for the max or you are just wasting your time.
Suited_Up 2
$1/$2Not all.Caesars is 1/3 with 500maxMGM is 1/2 with 200maxVenetian is 1/2 with 300maxTI is 1/3 with 500maxAnd so on in a similar fashion.Buyin for what you're comfortable with though. Last year I played mainly at Caesars and bought in for either 2 or 300, never had a problem. When i'm there next week, i'll probably opt for the max wherever I go, but either one would work fine. pokergoat 0
like i said before, always buy in for the max and have enough to do it two or three more times. Or just take it all and blow it on a hooker
Poppy_Hillis 11
I guess a lot of it depends on the person and their situation, but if you're not prepared to buy in for 100xBB or the max you shouldn't really be playing.

essay 0
No max buy in at The Wynn. Buy enough to cover the table. Unless you suck.
David_Nicoson 1
If you play better than your opponents after the flop, then I'd use this formula:buy amount = (BB in $) x e^(your age/age of your oldest opponent) x 2pi x 0 + (max buy-in) If not, buy-in for the minimum and get most of your stack in preflop with premium cards.
