  1. You shouldn't ever have one style of play. You playing style should be to that which would work best at that particular table that night. But I can sort of see where you are coming from, not playing for a month and all. Just play your cards for a bit until you are feeling comfortable.
  2. You know your a fish if in a 1/2 game you are only raising $5. Be a man and make a real raise
  3. Actually, 1999 looks less to many people the 2000. This is why in the consumer market you see soda and thing like that since marked 99 cents or $1.99. It is a true fact that these numbers psychologically read as a smaller amount to people. So maybe it is also a way to get almost full value for a hand. Also, it definitely does throw people off. Like, " why the hell is this dude betting such a weird number?!?!". takes them aways from their hand and yours.
  4. If you can watch a movie and see past the hollywooded-out made for the general public who have no clue about poker, I don't think it was that bad. Some of you all are real haters!
  5. For one, I've been done college for three years now. Two, I own a business, so I'm not a dude that has dreams of being a professional poker player. Three, many of times I've been at tables and seen people win huge in short periods. It happens. You know why it happens? Cause they get lucky. I got lucky that night. I'm not going around thinking, " Oh, poker is so easy. I can make thousands a night". I know that a run like that will probably never happen again any time soon. Get off my kool aid and let me bask in the feeling I had from that night. Just cause you are jealous that your 10k royal ru
  6. Yep. it did. I was tired and it seemed like the table was a little hostel too. I don't mean just aggressive poker either, but it seemed like a lot of the players would rather be engaged in fisticuffs then poker Plus, how does winning 1800 more dollars at 40/80 sound crazy. the average pot at this table when I was playing was like 500 give or take 50 bucks. So is it really hard to believe I won 3 or 4 pots in the course of 3-4 hours?
  7. Wow, I expected much more negativeness. It's cool to hear there are good people out there that are psyched. I'm always psyched to read when people do well. As for the question above about whether it was good playing or good cards, I'd have to say it was a bit of both. I think I did well caused I moved around a lot actually. And when I first get to a new table I am very focused and pay very close attention. Good cards, good folds, good calls, etc. Just one of those nights that makes you feel good. I lost one big pot with a monster hand and took a 10 min walk so I would not tilt, which worked wo
  8. I got something crazier. I was playing at Showboat in AC one morning and seen Aces vs Kings all in preflop at a 1/2 table 4 times in 30mins. No one could believe it. Even the dealer was a little spoked. And every time, they held up. It started into a joke that whenever someone raised preflop everyone thought it was going to happen again
  9. So last nite, while plating at Borgata with a few friends, I decided to do something a little fun. It was the first time my two friends had played in a casino. I figured I'd just **** around and probably end up losing $300 and call it quits. I started out at the 1/2NL table with the max buyin of $300. That's all my friends knew how to play. After about 2 hours I was up to $600, so I went on to play a 10/20 mixed game. Stud/Omaha. After about another 2 or 3 hours I was up to $1100. ****, I decided to try to just move up in limits again and go play 20/40 limit hold'em. Now, let me say this befor
  10. like i said before, always buy in for the max and have enough to do it two or three more times. Or just take it all and blow it on a hooker
  11. Always buy in for the max or you are just wasting your time.
  12. First, I'd go back to my room and order 1000 blue M&M's to be delivered by a white tiger. And there better be 1000 blue ones too or heads will roll. I'd then throw all of them off my 20th story balcony. One by one. After this, I'd head off to the nicest club dressed in a homeless persons cloths. The club would let me in cause I'd tip the door guy so much he'd have too. Once inside, I'd get plastered by drinking a whole bottle of Wild Turkey. Once I was nice and sloshed, I'd convince everyone to do the Electric slide. After the club, I'd go out to a diner where I would then hire four stripp
  13. Since I am single I shave one of my legs. Just one. So when I'm sleep on my side at night it feels like a girl is in the bed with me and I got my leg over hers. I'm such a mess
  14. I've found that at the mid-higher levels such as $100-$500 the players are much worse. I've done so much better at those levels then I ever did at the lower ones $10-$50. Go beyond the $500 though and you get into a whole new world and play some real poker. I'd say give it a shot. I mean, you are playing poker, it's gambling no matter how you dice it. So, take the gamble and go for it once or twice if it doesn't hurt you. Scared money don't win money. I took the chance on my BR a few weeks ago and havn't looked back since. I'm also a moron
  15. Ghost Rider would be pretty scary to play with. How are you going to get a read from a dude with a burning skull as a head.
