How do the Senators still have fans?

Don't underestimate fandom. Who were you cheering for in the 80s and 90s?

Ya, there's never been an owner in Toronto who worried more about the bottom line than the success of the team. lol

That said, I did lol at Serge's post, was funny. And should be true.

Its one thing to be bad, its totally different when the owner is just f'in it up.

In the salary cap era. There hasn’t been a Toronto owner not spending to the cap.

That was my point. Eugene Melnyk is a cheap ass.

I think most are in a holding pattern until new ownership comes in.

Declining ticket sales kind of show that people are tired of how the team is run. And the Redblacks / Fury are a breath of fresh air in the city.

Well, I think even you would have to agree, that the Leafs and Senators are two completely different enterprises in the business sense.

Melnyk might have issues, but Im sure if he owned the Leafs, he too would be spending to the max. Its easy to do when you have that much money coming in.

That’s a good point sure.

Zuccarello stays put (I don't want to buy another jersey)

Way off topic, but I find it weird that people have an aversion to wearing jerseys of players who no longer play for their team. (And it's not just you, I see this all the time!)

I think about a jersey as a snapshot in time. I don't have a single current Penguin jersey, and I haven't since 2013 when Tyler Kennedy left. (Maybe mostly because I don't want to spend $300+ on a jersey anymore.)

Maybe it's different if you're a player fan vs a team fan, but I'm 99.9% sure in this case, you're a Rangers fan first and foremost. The logo on the front is the same, and the name on the back represents someone who liked when he was a member of the team. I still alternate between my Jagr, Staal, Kennedy jerseys proudly when I go to games (or just during the playoffs when I'm at home...alone). They tell a story, but still clearly convey my fandom for the logo on the front.

And Oduya claimed by PHI.

The excitement...!

LOL.

Maybe I missed his stellar play or something this year, but there was all this talk about the Sens dealing him as if he had value or something.

I have 3 jerseys. Zuccarello, Brian Boyle and Messier. They where/are my favorite Ranger at the time they where playing. I just just like to have one current team member that is my #1. That's usually the Jersey I wear to an ordinary game. I wore #11 to Ratelle's banner ceremony last night. Ceremony was great

My 'high roller' pool has its trade deadline tonight. Its an annual tradition to have our trade deadline meeting (we all get together tonight at a bar) same night as the NHL's. We do the same in baseball.

I gotta say, it makes it really fun and quite the day today.

Made me think how great it could be if the AHL/FCHL could have a deadline say 24hours after the NHL deadline.

You're just trying to diminish the value of the bye ;)

Whoa. Paul Stastny to the Jets is a pretty big deal.

Woohoo! Schenn fantasy value goes up...and that's good for me...and that's all that matters.
