I play at Stars, and, I check the player locations for fun. If I play at three different tables, I will probably find at least one player from Mar Del Plata. At least it seems like that. When I ask where Mar Del Plata is, I never get an answer...never.I looked it up on Google: Mar del Plata is one of the major fishing ports and the biggest seaside beach resort in Argentina. With a population of 541,733 as per the 2001 census [iNDEC], it is the 7th largest urban area in Argentina.Ok, 7th largest in Argentina...but, it's Argentina. It only has a half a million people. It just seems to me that something is fishy in this fishing port, there's way too many of them playing at Stars. I don't know what's going on, but the percentage of players to inhabitants is way too high.Look for them, and tell me if you notice it too.

You are refering to La Plata, which is about 150 miles north of Mar del Plata. Mar del Plata is a major tourist resort during the summer. Tons of super hot women. There is no major university in the city though. I'm also surprised by the number of Argentines playing poker online. I grew up there and was there just this summer. They are starting to have Holdem in their casinos. Minimum buy-in for the only table was $500, pretty high considering that my buddy with a college degree only makes $400 a month.

I'm fairly sure that Edmonton is part of North America, not South or Central America.

http://www.mdp.edu.ar/ was my source, it does indeed seem like more of an extension facility....and yes reviewing what google gave me they mismatched the two back and forth I did in fact combine 2 cities. Which leads me to my new and improved theory. In a country with lower cost of living you could live a nice beach bum life playing low stakes poker. Or alternatively they could be the sons of successful argentinians who are off living in the beach house spending their allowance.
