In San Diego: Sycuan- IMO, chalk full of fish in the 1/2 nl game with max 100 buy in. 2/4 NL w/400 buyin is also very beatable. You cant beat the quantity of fish and tv players here. It's located in mountains near El Cajon. I played there everyday last semester. Barona- While they have fewer tables than Sycuan, a much cleaner atmosphere IMO. They spread 1-3, 300 max all the way up to 1000max. They also run juicy low limit HE. Good food as well.Viejas- Large room, way out in East County, past Sycuan, in Alpine. Large room with a healthy mix of games. I dont like playing too often unless they have a good tourney running, as it is dirty and just not a place where I like playing. .... that it for casinos..Cardrooms in SD- The Lucky Lady and Palomar Club. Lucky Lady spreads a crapshoot 1-3 blinds NL game, and also some good HE limit games if thats your game. Juicy/crazy 8/16 game, be prepared for some beats. Pechanga is 21, but I haven't ever seen them card. Even when I played there under age. Good luck, and please, not "caly"

Barona SUCKS! I will never go there again. They use crappy chips, have virtually no tables with only a few NLHE games. Crap crap crap. Viejas is much better, although not as "nice".

I think this topic was made especially for me...

I won't repeat some of the entries above so to save you some time.SoCal - San Diego: No trip through San Diego with the goal of playing poker is complete without playing at Oceans 11 just off the 5 in Oceanside. Great room, crapfest tourneys, but tables are full of fish and the food there is a steal. Great food and dirt cheap prices. It's the best form of rakeback you'll ever find.LA - The Bicycle Casino - Not too shabby, lots of pros and weekend players fill this casino made famous by the WPT. Play your A game and you should make a decent profitHustler Hollywood - That's right Larry Flynt doesn't just do crap porn. He also made a crap casino as well. It's dirty but what poker experience isn't complete without fear of getting mugged on your way back to the car?Commerce Casino - Wow...just wow. If God played poker, this is where he'd do it. I love Commerce. It's a great mix of all games so you won't just find hold 'em here. You'll see lots of pros playing here as well. The lower limit tables are liek your own personal ATM as long as you're playing decently. No person worth his salt skips the Commerce Casino.Bay Area - Unfortunately, my poker knowledge is limited to the San Jose metro Area which contains two great poker rooms.Garden City- This is where I cut my teeth. Good room and decent players. If you're willing to grind it out you can make some money. Last time I was there, they didn't offer a NL game because it was against city ordance. They offer Spread limit which is kinda the same, but not really. Bay 101 - Beautiful casino and room. I like it, but actually never played there. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood
