BubbleBoy 0
Just wondering if there is any place in the midwest or east coast that just rakes and doesn't have session fees. I've been to windsor and detroit both of which kill you for $12/hr. Anything in Indiana or anywhere? Atlantic city? Any help would be appreciated.

I played a little at Harrah's in Atlantic City which was raked, and I forget which the Borgata did. I think the higher games at Borgata are timed and the lower limits were raked. GrindingAway 0
I also believe you come out ahead paying an hourly fee over the rake - The reason I say so is because a casino boat I played on alot used to have a mini no limit game - $100 max buy in that was hourly - They went to rake after a couple of months on the game - I'm guessing they did so because They were making more money with the rake - i.e. you the player paying more with the rake ...Speaking of no rake do yourslef a favor - try playing online @ world poker exchange once in a while - you might find yourself playing elswehere B&M or online a lot less - so far has changed my game / made it a ton more fun / lot more profitable --- see my thread on it http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=61735Enjoy your trip - Good Luck
erac22 0
Every room I've played at in Atlantic City rakes rather than charging per hour. Also, which is better depends on what type of player you are. Tighter players would generally prefer rake, while looser players would rather session fees.
psujohn 0
Losing players would also prefer rake. Rake reduces the amount that winning players win. Time charges increases the amount that losing players lose.

psujohn 0
I'm not sure i follow this...Let's say you're a losing player. You lose $1 a hand. You see 40 hands and hour. If it's a raked game you lose $40 an hour. If it's a time charge you lost $40 an hour plus the $12 time charge. Basically winners pay the rake while everyone (winners and losers) pay time charges.
