BeaverStyle 1
General reads are the big stacks have limped into a lot of pots in LP w/ a lot of marginal holdings.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)CO (t4195)Hero (t1860)SB (t2245)BB (t4780)UTG (t1250)UTG+1 (t1250)MP1 (t2960)MP2 (t4880)Preflop: Hero is Button with T, 6. 3 folds, MP2 calls t50, CO calls t50, Hero raises to t200, 2 folds, MP2 calls t150, CO calls t150.I raised here because i had position, and obviously just wanted to take the pot down here.Flop: (t675) A, 2, 9(3 players)MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero bets t350, MP2 calls t350, CO folds."continuation bet, representing Ax, but i get a call. Really don't understand how he can just call there with an ace, so i figure he has a pair lower than A, and possibly lower than the 9.Turn: (t1375) J(2 players)MP2 checks, Hero bets t1310 (All-In), MP2 folds.I push here not wanting him to "chase" any possible draws, even though there really weren't any.Final Pot: t2685Executed well? nrs02004 0
Well, I don't want to be mean or anything... and I'm not a particularly great NLHE player but... I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY DONT LIKE THIS PLAY!!!you put yourself in an incredibly marginal situation, and luck out a ton.here's a list of problems:1st. Raising with a 10 6 suited after 2 limpers... WHY? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY? I really feel like you could find a much better time and place to put your money in the pot...2nd. Your preflop raise is way to small to win the pot. 4x BB after 2 limpers?? you need to raise at least 6x to knock the limpers out I think.3rd. I suppose the flop bet is semi-ok after playing the earlier part as you did... But seriously if I was playing against you I would c/r the hell out of you on that flop. Or possibly trap you with an ace...4th. After you get a call on the flop, WHY ARE YOU PUSHING? 9/10 times mp2 has a weak ace and you're betting your tourney life on a 20% chance... You're push just screams "I HAVE NOTHING... NOTHING AT ALL!!!!" or possible a pp lower than an ace.You entered what Harrington refers to as the dark tunnel. You have no idea what your opponent holds and are betting blindly into him. Look at plays not results. Yes this time your opponent folded, but I bet you get knocked out of a lot of SNGs when you get called...Sorry if I sound harsh, but I used to do this all the time, thinking that I was making plays and playing good aggressive poker, but I think the truth of the matter is that you're forcing it, and putting yourself in marginal situations where it takes a lot of luck to survive
Swift_Psycho 1
I don't like this at all. They both have you covered more than twice, you've got a suited 3-gapper, and your pre-flop raise is only really big enough to build a pot, not fold anybody.BTW, please don't post results. HtotheNootch 0
I hate this. Nice that it worked out though - I'm assuming.PF is aggressive, I don't necessarily hate it, but you can pick better spots at this level.Flop bet, you raised so a continuation bet isn't totally out of the question, but the card you didn't want to see flopped, so it migh not be the best move.I don't like the turn bet. You're pushing on a flush draw with one card to come. You're in trouble unless you hit. I'd be much more likely to push if I thought I had any additional outs (e.g. a gutshot straight draw), but in this case, at worst you're looking at a pair of aces.
Bizzle 0
Read this thread and think about wether myself, therrinn, copper, strat, or anyone else who posted in it would endorse this play.
