My issue with this hand is the fact that this particular flop got capped in an unraised pot. Then again, you do have a set so it's silly to assume you're beat just because of that. I guess the only thing I would worry about is a strangely played KK or QQ (as far as hands that have you beat), but I suppose it wouldn't surprise me if it was someone playing AA "deceptively."So I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you had the best hand on the flop and turn (which is still fairly likely), then you almost assuredly still have the best hand on the river, and since the pot is so big, BB calling two cold wouldn't be unheard of. So I'm wrestling between calling because I'm paranoid that someone has a higher set and raising because we'll get more money.This hand hurts my brain for some reason, and I just gave too much commentary for no actual purpose. Touche...Yeah, I'm still wrestling with finding something that plays like this that they could have. I wish I could think that they played Q8 UTG or some such and overplayed the flop, or had a pair and a flush draw and went crazy, or if we knew they were absolute maniacs, I'd almost unquestionably raise. It's just such an unassuming board, which, like I said, is the reason why I'm so conufsed by this hand.I'm just going to let other people have this one.

Hand makes no sense, why is UTG call/3-betting the turn.I'm raising the river and strongly considering capping it if he 3-bets.

I play it the same.but, then, I'm a sissy.UTG has 88 a lot here.The turn play maximizes his profit, as long as you play your role.If you are behind you lose 2.If you are ahead you win 1.I'm not counting what you already win by calling.sure there's the maniac factor; but there's also the slow playing QQ/KK possibility factor.I'm cautious

I think I just call...but that makes me feel like a *****. Still he has shown a ton of strength and both 88 and 44 are reasonable hands for a limper UTG. He could have also have QQ and hit a set on the turn...the way he played the turn is tricky and almost makes me thinks he has that. You can always hope he is just a maniac and going nuts with two pair or even less but I think I just call to be safe.
