MyPlayIsRAB 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 the patriotic post about two up is very true. i live close to the us border. you can be in mcadam, nb and not see many canadian flags on houses. cross the border to vanceboro, maine and every trailer and house has one. im canadian and proud, but im not all gun ho and "canada > all" like the impressions i get of americans (which may be somewhat biased since ive only been to 20 states)people make jokes about how canada is a weak country and doesnt want to start any fights because we cant win. thats not necessarily true, we just dont feel war is the answer and therefore we try to talk **** overbtw, president chirac of france two weeks ago:"anyone from the middle east attacks any french possession and we'll turn the middle east into a parking lot"a little aggressive? cool nonetheless Link to post Share on other sites

You are 100% right that the relationship is very important between the 2 countries. My point was mainly in response to the previous poster who said we would be the ones screwed if the relationship ended. Im pretty sure water and oil, and electricity are a little bit more important than computers and cars especially since you won't be making many cars or computers without electricity and oil. The flop had an Ace so I bet on the flop and the American raised on the button. I was just gonna call him down when the river spiked a 9 and then I check-raised his AQ hand and he just totally flipped out for 5 minutes (which seems a lot longer online).He called me a ****ing Canadian and a whole bunch of other things that will get edited.Firstly, I found it impressive that this donk knew that Toronto was a city in Canada and just laughed it off.I just told him to stick around 'cause I'd screw up worse than that (a la Greenstein).Don't take what idiots say to heart OP...you're gonna give yourself a heart attack! I've met some really ignorant Americans but I also have some really good buddies that live down south too. I don't quite understand why people feel as though its ok to make fun of someones nationality when it has nothing to do with the situation. If put a bad beat on you feel free to call me a fish, donkey, idiot or any other choice phrase you like but what does me being Canadian have to do with it. And no offense but the only country that i've ever heard do this is Americans. I had one guy today get mad at me then he won a pot against me and starting saying how Canada sucks and America rules. Last time i checked i wasn't part of the Canadian poker team and he wasn't part of Team America. We're playing poker not representing our country at the Olympics here. Did Canada do something to offend the U.S. that has all the americans pissed off at us or something. Ive played poker against people from all over the world and ive never heard anyone else make fun of Canada or any other country other than Americans. The worst thing is most americans are great people, but these idiots give them a bad name all over the world. So for all the great americans out there when this starts happening in your presence you need to step in and tell the person that what there doing is wrong and embarasing. If other americans step in and do this it will be taken much better.Isn't Canada the 51st state?
