DanielNegreanu 141
The one thing I'd really like to do is play some more high limit poker. My goal is a very attainable one, in that I'm hoping that by the end of the year I can make $1 million. In about 90 hours this year I'm ahead about $336,000, but the swings are so big in that game that I could lose all that in an hour!
BigFish 0
And where do you plan on playing..... obviously the Wynn isnt having games big enough to make 600k plus.

Or maybe it's not. But I think it is, and that's all that matters. So.................Daniel, you shoot for 1million, but it has to be from cash games.I will shoot for 200,000. Personally, I think my task is much more difficult. But we'll see what happens. The game is afoot. If you win, I will personally send you an aotographed picture (of me), a hockey jersey, some cool stuff for Mushu, and a belated wedding present for you and Lori.In case anyone has any ideas of trying to hijack this thread, don't. I got here first, lol. Good Luck.
trythisAgain 0
This thread seemed like as good a place as any to ask, as someone above also alluded to it, but I thought Daniel was only allowed to play cash games at the Wynn in Vegas? Obviously this isn't the case since he played 4000-8000 after busting out of the tournament the other night, unless that game has moved to the Wynn?In any case, as for your goal of making a million over the rest of the year, I'd suggest one place to start would be mopping the floor with Neverwin for a few hundred grand in your challenge match... Just a suggestion that has NOTHING to do with the fact that I bet Daniel to win the match on Pinnacle sports, but the match has to start before next year

Gene zzz 0
I think goal setting is a big plus in poker, now I would say that for what I know your goal my be to small which comes from the fear of swings which on top of that may be why you are afraid to lay down the 74. I use some Web sites which one is all about goals and my play is growing fast, you should add what you want to change about your game also to the money limit; the last two post you have made about your cash games both started with a big dive you may not know how or why yet but that changed would be a big plus, but on another side I don't like those props either that is totally not going to help luck I know is not the way in poker. So best wishes and up the ante!

rk 0
The business of poker. It seems mr. negraneau, that you got too involved with the business of poker and since have lost your edge. You must make enough money from your poker business ventures, that you no longer need to win when you play tourns or live games. In the back of your mind you always know that you will get your checks from your ventures. so, what's the necessity to win anymore? what's the motivation?i'm just not convinced that one can be involved with so many poker business involvements and also be successful as a player. No doubt, you are great as a player. But the hunger is no longer there. The "have to" is gone. It just appears that you play more for fun no than survival. and with it has gone your edge. There are enough players out there that are playing for their life. maybe you've gotten a bad run of cards as you did in the wsop. but i just dont think you will get out of this slump, because you dont really need to.and need is a strong motivator.good luck, though. Balloon guy 158
Same can be said of Tiger Woods. He was on top, got alot of business ventures going, lost the top spot, then fell away never to be heard from again....Until the next year, when he took first place back from VijayFunny how serious competitors don't react the way normal people act. Like rich people, everyone says why don't you quit with all your money and relax. Because making money is fun too, and winning golf tournaments is fun, and winning poker tournaments, etc.

Drbingogh 0
Well, I guess my goals for next year are even more pathetic than losing wait. My bankroll right now is $200. That's not a typo, two hundred dollars. I don't make a lot of money and play mostly micro limtis online and .25/.50 home games but would like to play more B&M cash games this year. I'd really like to get a bankroll in the thousands by the end of next year. I think that is more than possible.I'm also going to dedicate myself to reading the Theory of Poker. I've tried in the past and it made my brain hurt, but I"m really going to take my time with it and try to wring some poker knowledge out of it. Third, I'd like to start p[laying more games besides Hold 'Em. That one sis tough because of my bankrooll restrictions and douchebag buddies who only want to play NLHE. That's why Al Gore made the internet I guess. Finally, I'm going ot keep a detailed poker journal in order to fill holes in my game and track my progress in the form of hard data. No more "I think I broke even."
