I would love to know the very same thing.I will probably also go tomorrow afternoon, I was hoping to play in the satellite at 9:00pm but I have no idea if I will be able to even get a seat.I have played at the Trop and Borgata but not at the Taj.Anybody have any info on the size of their poker room, games, etc. etc.Much appreciated! Not you though Ron as you never leave your desk or Florida!

I was thinking about playing in the 11am 300+40...
I will know either later today, but no later than tomorrow morning if I am going.I may join you in that Tourney! Is it one of the USPC events? Any idea how many people will participate?I will be wearing a Bicycle Casino cap.

it is a USPC event. They got 334 for the limit tourny earlier this week, so my guess would be double that. I'll be in a Florida Gators football hat...
If I go I will enter it, sounds like a blast.Any idea about the starting chip count or structure. Their website sucks, and I called them yesterday and the guy at the tournament desk, didn't know much and was answering questions for others in the casino so getting info was next to impossible.By far Foxwoods has the best website for info, you can go and print all the info for the World Poker Finals events. I am seriously considering a trip up there as well in the next couple of weeks. They have satellites starting as low as $60.00 for the WPT $10k main event.I will try and register tomorrow night for Saturday if I go.

Poker room is a good size.Bring rubber gloves....Taj has the dirtiest freaking chips....handling them is pretty gross.I find the play at the Taj to be tighter than the borgata or trop.

I think its similar to their daily tournament blind structure:NO LIMIT HOLD-EM Level Ante Blinds 1 * $25-$50 2 * $50-$100 3 $25 $100-$200 4 $50 $150-$300 5 $75 $200-$400 6 $100 $300-$600 7 $100 $500-$1,000 8 $200 $800-$1,600 9 $300 $1,000-$2,000 10 $500 $1,500-$3,000 11 $500 $2,000-$4,000 12 $1,000 $3,000-$6,000 13 $1,000 $5,000-$10,000 14 $2,000 $8,000-$16,000 15 $3,000 $10,000-$20,000 16 $5,000 $15,000-$30,000 17 $5,000 $20,000-$40,000 18 $10,000 $30,000-$60,000 19 $10,000 $40,000-$80,000 20 $15,000 $60,000-$120,000

I played in the USPC stud 300+40 on Tuesday and indeed 3000 with 40 minute levels. To the OP, it didn't look overly crowded, though it was a Tue compared to a Fri, however I wouldn't anticipate waiting too long for a seat in a cash game. I never really have had much of a wait at the Taj for most any limit/game. I would however anticipate a large field for the NL event on Friday. Probably around 800 would be my guess.

7s, thanks much for the info! I probably won't make it down there until 7:00pm or so.Supposedly they have some satellites going at 9:00 so I thought I would play ring games until then and then try the satellite.Saturday's event according to their, never updated website shows it to be a $500 not a $300 buy in.Either way depending on what is going on I may try that as well if things go reasonably well on Friday.

I was a bit surprised to see that TJ is here in Jersey this early in the week for the $300 events, he finished 10th in the O8B yesterday.
Really very cool.I am going for sure tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I can have some good luck!I plan to play the event on Saturday.Does anyone know if you can use a Visa to register for the Tourney? My bank is in PA and I work in NJ, so I won't be able to withdraw from the ATM enough to buy in plus play ring games.I don't want to have to drive back to PA to the bank, so if I can use a Visa for the tournament entry that would work just great.I know in CA when I played the tournaments you could use the Visa to buy in.Otherwise I may just have to make a damn drive during the day tomorrow back to PA to get more dough. Thanks

Staff are prepared to handle up to 1,000 (I think it will be closer to the 600-800 range).Registration starts at 9 a.m. for an 11 a.m. start.(You can also register one day ahead...so if you can get down there tonight, I'd take advantage of that option. Unless of course you register for the $10,000 buy in...you can sign up any time you like. A bit frustrating.)I played the LH tourney on Monday. Official count was 344. I wasn't able to get to the Taj until 10 a.m., so the line was out the door and down the hallway (about 80 people--only waited 10-15 min). Not sure about the Visa option but make sure you have an active Taj card, otherwise you can't register. I can't tell you how many people got to the front of the line and had to go across the room to sign up for a Taj card.FYI--the sign up for the Taj card is to the left of the simulcast/keno area (adjacent to the poker room). Taj card services open at 9 a.m. (get there before the line starts or you could be in for a 45 min to an hour wait). You will need basic ID (driver's lic.) to sign up and receive tournament winnings. As for the cash games, they have some tables set aside to keep the action going. Once tournament tables break, they waste no time setting up new games. Best bet is to get on the board early. On Monday, the board was full before the tourney even started. By 2 p.m./3 p.m. the wait wasn't too bad (depending on the game).Other info (as it was given to me by tournament staff)Friday, September, 23, 2005NLHT $300 +40Starting chips: 3,000Levels: 40 minutesAntes kick in on level 3.Using the same structure as their daily tournaments (so, 3,000 chips looks a little light, I'll pray to the poker gods and hope for 5,000 starting chips or a slower structure). 8) See ya there.(BTW, I'm between 100-350 lbs., have grayish-brown/black-sandy blond hair, tons to little facial hair, will be wearing a shirt of some kind...oh, and I'll be the one saying "raise.")

Thanks for the info. Great description, you will be very easy to spot!I am between 2 foot 3 and 7 foot 9, etc. etc. blah blah. You cannot use a Visa, I took care the money situation so it won't be an issue.Yes I was almost certain you would need a Taj card which I had at one point, but who the hell knows where that is since it has been eons since I have been at the Taj.I am going to try and call today to see if they can reactivate it and have it ready for me tonight. If not I will deal with it when I get there.I will be there no later than 8:00 pm tonight.Good luck.
