Zach6668 513
Nice. I've only tried a couple places. Ali Baba's sucks. That's all I know. I think I'm pretty picky and probably not even eating "real" shawarma. I just really loved this one place I used to go to in Ottawa. Extra garlicky.
Ottawa_Biatch 288
They have this new place near my work that has something called bubble tea. I've never had it before. It's amazing. I love the tapioca pearls
Babying 613
I don't like Bubble Tea or Shawarnas
mrdannyg 274
Do you guys really spell it "doner" instead of donair? I've never seen that before...maybe it's regional...
serge 904
Do you guys really spell it "doner" instead of donair? I've never seen that before...maybe it's regional... The proper way to spell it is doner. It's turkish.
mrdannyg 274
The proper way to spell it is doner. It's turkish. I'm not disagreeing, I just have never seen it before, in Atlantic Canada or out West. Never noticed a place in Ontario. Though since it isn't an english word, I don't think you can say there is a "correct" spelling in english...

Also a lot of "Donair" that is sold is processed crap , sort of like Gyro...

serge 904
I am sort of a Shawarma, Doner, Donair, Gyro connoisseur. They are all different, they all have their varying different tastes .. Lot of people like the chicken Shawarma, I hate it..

Lot of people like the chicken Shawarma, I hate it.. That stuff is hit and miss for me, but the lamb I had at the Moroccan pavillion at Epcot was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The chicken also probably makes my all-time top 5.

THIS I also feel like certain food likes/dislikes are a by product of the atmosphere, ie who you ate it with, where you were, how your day was.
Ottawa_Biatch 288
Agree 100% with serge and arp. If I'm eating a banana inside my car, I love bananas. If I'm eating a banana outside and a bicycle is near me, it repulses me.

digitalmonkey 929
What if the bicycle has a banana seat supporting the crotch of a very attractive and fit woman?

serge 904
Yeah... I'm considering going down to Greektown for lunch/dinner. Greek food is awesome too. But I always get a souvlaki. Not gyro. Greek salad. Yummy.
