Kellerman sucks!  Stat Boy is way better.  Can anyone seriously sit through a whole episode of Imax?Tilt was disappointing, but so was playmakers--so much hype that didn't deliver.  But what the hell, I'll still watch it.  Anyone think the black guy looks like a DMX clone?
I actually used to really enjoy IMax, before they changed the format to non-scored arguments adn took bill wolff more or less out of the equation. Disembodied Voice 4l.

i don't care what anybody says...i liked Tilt! Can anyone else have done a better job? I think not! These are the same writers from Rounders...c'mon!!! You guyz should give 'em more credit!Remember the scene when that black dude jumped across the poker table? You think that sh*t never happens? Your wrong...this just recently that happened at the Maxim Hotel/Casino cardroom. The Texas Station Casino a few daya ago had a gunfight happen! If you don't think those situations can't actually happen...then you need to get out more! And the female lead character...doesn't she remind you of Jeniffer Harmon? Hmm.... :D

But Rounders is an old and yes (outdated) poker movie. Good movie, but already less relevant in todays poker world, what with the internet card rooms and college whiz kids getting in on the action. Different game now. I agree wih Daniel. I don't understand why ESPN would go out of their way to paint poker in a bad way for the general public. It is taking off right now and it's like... screw poker, let's make it look bad so we have more time for Shaq/Kobe highlights on ESPN instead of old poker tournaments.Emily, do you not know what a Matador is? It's not a mad-ador..

I don't really think ESPN's point was to paint poker in any light. I think everyone is supposed to use their maturity in realizing this is a fictional TV show that happens to involve a card game that is popular at the moment (built-in ratings). It's not supposed to be realistic, so I don't know why everyone is saying that ESPN is painting poker in a certain light -- they expect their viewers to understand that this TV show is for entertainment purposes only. Am I the only one who thinks this? Does everyone really believe that Tilt was meant to reflect any aspect of the reality of the sport? Think of it as a modern day western -- most of those westerns blow things way out of proportion as far as gunfights, etc. go, but damn if they aren't entertaining..... just watched Tombstone.

Yes, we understand, but the point is that ESPN is at a turning point in poker. They have a great opportunity to .... well, now that I think about it, if they showed poker for what it really was, I don't think that would get ratings. The real-time poker tourneys get ratings b/c it's real. But creating a fictional poker show about 'real' poker isn't gonna work. Honestly I think the whole idea in general is just pretty lame. Who is their target audience??? Not poker players... so... who is it? Teenagers who don't know much about poker yet? Those are few and far between right now. I just don't think it's going to survive. Yeah, I'm saying it, it won't last more than 1 season. I have more interest watching celebrity poker showdown than Tilt.

It's not a poker show. It's a drama built with the game as a plot vehicle. Yes, the poker play is bad, yes, it uses an unflattering light in treating poker to create tension. Then again, as they are, cash games do not make good TV. Odd, ugly, old people pushing 85% of their cards in the muck isn't riveting. Now, exciting longshot hands played by beautiful pe0ple with drama and tension and possible cheating (ooh, scandalous) makes people watch. The dialogue being laughable, the actors not being great, and its position on an event network as opposed to a show network are what will kill it. Put this on NBC and it might have a chance. However, this will go the way of "Playmakers", their unflattering dramatic portrayal of NFL life.Noone's gonna watch "tilt" and think everyone's a cheat more than anyone forms their opinion of police from NYPD Blue or lawyers from Boston Legal and so on. The profession is a device for built-in tension and recognizable struggles, as well as wish fulfillment to some degree.Plus, what's better for your game than a show where people play 6-10 off to win big, AND is targeted at non-players?Seriously, if they made a documentary about low and mid-level games or 10-20 grinder pros, or something like that, now THAT would eat some of Poker's pop culture momentum. Obviously staged drama with some glitz and glamour, even if incorrect or unflattering, is not the worst thing for poker or its credibility.

Seriously, its not intended to simulate a real poker game. They already have that with the WSOP. It is NOT a poker tournament. It is a drama series.Playmakes was exagerationSeinfeld was exagerationFresh Prince of Bell Air is exagerationSpiderman was exagerationAll of a sudden a Poker related show comes out and everyone seems to forget TV isn't real. "Hey thats not how poker REALLY is!" Ya well in Sitcoms people cheat on their girlfriend, crash their dads car, and blow up the microwave in one day, then do 3 or 4 more chilling things the next day, but I don't hear anyone screamong "Hey thats not how life really is!"Its television, its fictional. Please people

Yeah but the difference is that the general public knows spider man is fake and seinfeld isn't real life. The problem is a lot of people still think poker is this sort of old-west gunfight kind of game in modern day. It's just not anymore.. hell you can't even smoke at the table anymore! The game is cleaner and cleaner every day. The general public doesn't realize that. Everyone has had a life, and everyone has seen spiders but not everyone has played in a poker tournament or ring game. That is the difference.

I really liked that one episode of playmakers where the star wide-out had a plot to kill his pregnant girlfriend and then hid in the trunk of his car where the cops found him. Or the one where the star wide-out had his mansion burned down by his rap star girlfriend...etc......Oh wait, that wasn't playmakers that really happened. Playmakers and Tilt exagerated...perhaps. But like stereotypes, they are all based in some reality. Just a thought. Let the flaming commence.

- No, actually I think she looks more like Trish Stratus and as far as I know Jennifer doesn't act like a cheap poker hack!! Also, wasn't there a scene where a guy (white guy I think) holding I believe 7,4 supposedly makes a winning hand when a red king comes off?
