What's the initial stack? 1000? How many players?20 minutes is fast for blinds that move like that unless they have a lot of people in the tourney and limited time / time on the room.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they only have a limited amount of time.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, FLYou start with 2,500 in chips and there are usually around 120 players. There is no time limit to speak of. I think it's just that they always sell out the tournaments and their basic thinking is along the lines of "herd 'em in and drive 'em back out (and hopefully into the ring games) as fast as possible".

That's just crap. They should double the round times or start thinking of new uses for that room, I can't imagine the mob will be happy with that for long."I think he knows what Rome is. Rome is the mob. Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. The beating heart of Rome is not the marble of the senate, it's the sand of the coliseum. He'll bring them death - and they will love him for it."

That's not uncommon for weekly tournaments at smaller casinos. I know at least 3 times a week my local cardroom puts tournaments together like that. Anywhere from 60 w/ no rebuys to 30+1 rebuy+1 addon. The blinds start at 25-25, with 15-20 minute rounds (depending on what tournament it is), and the players start with 1500 chips (except on Sunday morning, they start with 5000). I don't play them, because they're not worth it, it's usually an all-in battle, which I hate. There's usually around 70-150 players though. The purpose is to get the waiting list in as soon as possible, and to clear the tables for use for the side games, since that's where the majority of the money comes from in a poker room.

It's just frustrating that they can't run a tournament where you have just a little more time to work your stack. 30 minute rounds would be great, 40 minute rounds would be awesome!I guess they've pretty much got the local players by the balls though. If you don't like it, it's tough. It's a long drive (or flight) to any other casinos with weekly tournaments when you live in central FL.
