Babying 613
ice is your friend Definitely need it. I guess it was an okay first time out. The team has me batting 2nd because I can run. Our clean up hitter who can really play kept telling me to beat it into the ground so I can leg it out and he will hit me in. First time up, I tell the ump that I need a wheelchair. Hit one up the middle for an easy single. 2nd time up I hit one to the shortstop and I start running. I beat the throw (because I still have my speed). 3rd time up, the ump said hey didn't you say you need a wheelchair. What the hell was that?
Babying 613
I was in Bond Head. I am also a sucker. They had demos on sale. Grab a M2 for $150. Nearly brought the irons too for $500 I played today at Bethesda. I had both of my drivers in my bag. The Taylormade M2 and Aeroburner. The M2 driver I have to say will be glued inside my bag from now on
Fenxis 99
And as per Bob's post, I know everyone hates the other options but I hope a great many people come to the conclusion that Ford is just not an option. We learned from Trump that "they're both bad so vote for lower taxes" is not a sufficient thought process. So hate all you want, vote NDP or liberal, vote conservative next, don't care. A vote for Ford crosses a line, in my opinion. (Though I'd personally wonder how to rationalize voting for the party that even nominated Ford in a future election, but that's a topic for another day). And this has nothing to do with my last post. I honestly know nothing about Wynne and the party but I fully expect to hear legitimate bad stuff based on the hardcore hate I hear from people I respect. I hate how people look at the Liberals/NDP and say; we can't vote for them -- "think of the debt we will put on the children". While at the same time with a straight face are all for tax cuts that will do nothing deficit and programs being gutted across the board. Harper sucking up to Ford was the last straw for me federally for the Conservatives and there's no way I can vote for them provincially -- and yes I would for them with most leaders. FCP Bob 1,312
Rob Ford's widow is suing Doug Ford, here's a breakdown of the suit from a lawyer. Always remember that Doug Ford has been a scum bag from his days as a drug dealer to today. Rob Ford was a child with many issues, Doug is malevolent. https://threadreader...4670817285.html The claim alleges (not proven in Court etc) that Doug Ford suggested to Rob Ford's widow, Renata, that they resolve estate matters without lawyers. Always the first clue something is amiss. The claim goes on to accuse Doug Ford of failing to distribute the property of Rob Ford's estate. Rob Ford has been dead for over two years. The claim also alleges that Doug Ford has not "passed the accounts" ( which means have the estate accounts approved by a court) While you don't always have to get the estate accounts approved by the court, it is required where there are minor beneficiaries which there are in this case (Rob's kids). Doug also agreed in October 2016 to provide complete information to Ford's widow re Rob Ford's estate. Doug, as Rob's estate trustee, is then alleged to have sold Rob's 200 Deco shares to Randy (the other brother) for a dollar. Doug and Randy then reorganized the Deco companies so that Rob's estate had no further interest in the Deco companies. The claim further alleges that Doug and Randy then mismanaged the affairs of the Deco companies. So much for Doug's reputation as a great businessman! The claim alleges Deco Toronto lost millions of dollars since 2010. The claim says Doug's compensation and perks were "extravagant" and that Doug had neither the education or experience to justify employment as a senior officer of the Deco companies. The claim says that Doug continued to draw extravagant compensation when he was a politician The claim alleges that Doug and Randy destroyed the value of the Deco companies and grossly overcompensated themselves. They hired friends and family members who weren't qualified. They failed to operate the businesses which maintained costs and expenses commensurate with revenue Doug dismissed competent employees and caused the businesses to pay for Doug and Randy's personal expenses. In order to maintain the solvency of the Deco companies the claim alleges they arranged for infusions of funds from their father's estate. The claim asserts that the father's estate was worth between 15 and 20 million in 2007 but by august 2014 was worth 6.4 million and now its alleged to be worth even less. So the claim alleges that because Doug breached his trustee obligations to Rob's kids, they have lost $5 mil Doug is then alleged to have withheld the proceeds of Rob's life insurance, charged unreasonable expenses to the estate and attempted to keep his misconduct secret. The claim then says that Doug's and Randy's mismanagement and negligent direction of the Deco companies has resulted in those companies "total operational failure" . The claim also seeks punitive damages against Doug and Randy. Here is a quote from the last paragraph "The defendant's misconduct was calculated, in breach of their trustees' duties, concealed by them, and arose in the context of multiple conflicts of interest which they willingly embraced to benefit themselves. In effect the defendants mismanaged the Deco Companies ..... to the point of insolvency, and then plundered Doug Sr.'s estate to maintain the illusion that they were successful businessmen and to retain their offices and compensation." So a few observations. The lawyers and the law firm acting for Rob Ford's widow and kids are reputable. They aren't the type of lawyers you see on the Simpsons. The claim is well drafted and credibly presented. The facts as pleaded are all too common in the sense that the persons operating the business attempt to edge out the unsophisticated shareholder. Also common is the failure of estate trustees to produce credible and timely information when asked. Often the first sign of trouble. These are serious allegations brought by someone in the Ford family not by some political opponent or gadfly. Or by some member of the "elite". The allegations raise serious questions about Doug Ford's ability to be premier. He conceals information, hires family and other insiders, fires competent managers, runs successful companies into the ground, plunders his own Dad's estate all while paying himself "extravagantly" For so many reasons (and this is only the latest) Doug Ford is not fit to be Premier. In the end, he is not "for the people" he is only for himself. The happy ending is that you have the ability to fix this. Just don't vote for him. THE END

Harper sucking up to Ford was the last straw for me federally for the Conservatives and there's no way I can vote for them provincially -- and yes I would for them with most leaders. It is a constant source of amazemebt to me that conservatives (provincially, federally, in the US) continue to have the reputation as fiscally conservative, when their recent governments have generaly had bigger budget deficits than their liberal counterparts, and in pretty much every case had bigger effective deficits, since trickle-down is a joke. I mean, Ford is going to win this election because people hate the NDP is going to waste their money on education, health and social supports while pretending that Ford will save them billions by cutting taxes and with absolutely no plan for saving any money. I know a lot of smart people who think this way and I consider it a personal failing that I can’t even begin to understand how they rationalize this. In other news, I still haven’t found a single person to tell me why they think Wynne is corrupt or why they hate her so much. I will say this “we admit we’re not going to win but vote for us to stop Ford” is pretty much the worst and most cynical, cowardly political message I’ve ever heard.

I disagree. I think it's a clever angle. If enough people vote this way then the Liberals could win. And the angle I'm referring to is not to stop Ford, but to prevent a Conservative or NDP majority. mrdannyg 274
I voted for the NDP for the 1st time in my life today. For your sake, I hope it’s the last time. I’m sure that was pretty painful for you, so even though we might not vote for the same parties normally, I really respect your ability to “break” away from a historically awful candidate. I’d imagine some heartburn for people next election too that it’s still the same party who could nominate someone so bad. I’d like to think in your position I’d do the same, but you really have to be open-minded to vote so far from your ideology.

When my oldest daughter got the rep Softball invitation the practices were at finch and Weston Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30 pm. Imagine driving there and coming out at night I was kind of glad that she wanted to play soccer more than Softball
mrdannyg 274
Within 90 seconds of polls closing, PC win is declared. Hard to have faith in your fellow man when so many are so goddamn stupid and selfish. Wishing all the best to all my friends there - and I’m just saying, for $275k you could own a 4-bedroom house in my neighbourhood! Walking distance to schools, huge yards, a 30-minute commute (40 by bus), no traffic, and our business-friendly mayor actually produced a budget!

serge 904
Lot of stuff and places I missed about Toronto. The downtown traffic is something I don’t miss. It seems much worse than I remember it. At the risk of pissing people off the bike situation is exponentially worse with the rent a bikes becoming more popular. It’s a shame as it’s a great city but it’s become more anti car and it has made traffic worse.
