fryer98 30
There was some talk a month or so back about some FCP guys making it down to Pittsburgh to drink for a weekend for the draft. And to drink for the weekend. Let's use this thread for draft talk, trip planning, post trip stories, and anything else draft related.Let me know if you are interested, definitely coming, etc. I have a few hotels in mind to give you guys some options on how close to the city, how much you want to pay, and all that good stuff.Wikipedia draft page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_NHL_Entry_DraftTSN Draft Centre: http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/nhl.com draft blog: http://www.nhl.com/ice/blog.htm?id=188mynhldraft.com mock draft: http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/draftsite.com mock draft: http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2012hockeybuzz.com draft blog: http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=41016bleacherreport.com draft page: http://bleacherreport.com/2012-nhl-draft
ajs510 122
I'll be down for sure, looking forward to it. Never seen the draft live and in person before. Pittsburgh is like a 4 hour drive for me, not bad at all.

fryer98 30
A Holiday Inn Express on 10th Street in the South Side (the drinking district where Zach and I saw the Cup) is going for about $208/night right now. That's only about $20 more per night than any other random weekend. It's 1 mile from CEC, just over the river and through the tunnel and past the bench where Zach and I saw that guy shitting. My house (A) about 6 miles from CEC (B) these days and I'm about 1/2 mile from a light rail stop to get downtown. Also, a ~$13-14 cab ride, depending on where I am in the city. Therefore, I'm close to everything and it obviously doesn't matter to me where you guys stay.
Babying 613
I just checked on Hotwire and there is a 3 star hotel for $77 a night near the airport. I believe it is a Hyatt Place.
mrdannyg 274
I recommend all of you guys share a suite. Biatch will find a suitable one.

I believe it is a Hyatt Place. There's plenty of options in the burbs but I thought the big drinkers (Adam....??) would want to stay closer to downtown/the bars. The Hyatt Place (located right where it says "60" on the map above below "Robinson Township") is right on the parkway west and across the street from a Sheetz. It's also close to the mall and a TON of restaurants.
Ottawa_Biatch 288
Sorry but Biatch likes the IP in Vegas.I will find my own accomodations.Lol this is true. It's not that I loved the IP, it's that I loved the location.Location trumps hotel

Something central to the arena and the bar areas would be ideal.

I'll try to make an appearance somewhere but we'll see what's going on by then.
Zach6668 513
When I came down for the parade, I got the Hilton (i think) near Point State Park for $50 from Hotwire. Last minute though, and no huge hotel demand like there would be for the draft.

ajs510 122
I'm definitely coming and might be bringing a friend along. Looking at staying at the Wyndham Hotel since she stayed there last week for the Ducks game and loved it, 20 min walk from the arena with tons of bars on the way. Will definitely be there for the 1st round on Friday and the first few rounds on Saturday, not sure if we'd be heading back Saturday or staying two nights and heading out Sunday morning. fryer98 30
I'm guessing the Wyndam at the point right downtown? That's where Zach stayed when he was here for the parade, but it was a Hilton then.

ajs510 122
Has there been any discussion on ticket availability for the draft, or what the whole scenario will be for getting into the building that weekend?
