Zach6668 513
Canadians are surging at the end again. Gold in men's and women's curling, plus women's hockey. Sort of as expected, but always a chance to lose in the finals (especially hockey where we likely weren't a favorite. I think we're 1 gold medal behind Norway for 1st, and we have 23 medals total (USA leads with 25, RUS with 23). We're also leading in silvers, which means we're 1st in top 2 finishes, not that it means anything.
mrdannyg 274
Nice to see us near the top, though it's so easy in the Olympics to play the 'what if' game, especially with some of our top skaters crashing out. If you were making a point system for medals, what would it be? I think mine would be more extreme than most - probably like 8/3/2 for gold/silver/bronze.
mrdannyg 274
Oh jeez, just watched Maltais fall in the last turn of the women's 1000m semis when she could've walked to the finish line to appear in the medal final, and after being #1 through all of qualifying. Canadian speed skaters have been absolutely cursed this Olympics after having everything go right in Vancouver. I think we won 1-2 medals overall, and were expected to get 6-8, with 8-10 a real possibility. Every skater falling, and very rarely because of anyone else's fault, just catching a blade wrong or something.

serge 904
Netherlands went from 8 medals in Vancouver to 22 here.. They have taken a lot of the speed skating medals that we would be in running for.. I think if we take out Netherlands skaters and Norway skiers, we are awesome...
