drewlovesomaha 0
Ok, I am a huge Kobe Bryant fan and feel that you can put him and Michael Jordan on a level no one else will ever reach. With the exception of Kobe, I honestly don't think there is another player coming close to what Carmelo is doing and has done the past two seasons. He is continually improving (strength, fitness, leadership) and is quite simply the most dangerous and unstoppable scorer in the league. Also, a tremendous rebounder and as clutch a shooter as there is in the league. I love Dwayne Wade but I would definitely take Carmelo over him if I was starting a team so the only other comparison is with LeBron James. In my view, Carmelo was the better player on the Olympic team and since that time has improved significantly. The biggest difference is that Carmelo has now reached physical maturity and he is just a beast, virtually unstoppable in the post and a pure shooter. LeBron has always been an amazing physical specimen but he is yet to reach the skill level of Kobe and MJ. One other thing, having Chauncey Billups in Denver has definetly helped Carmelo but I think he would have busted out either way................averaging over 30 a game so far on an elite team. JoeyJoJo 18
First of all, I've loved Carmelo ever since he won me a lot of money in a March Madness pool where I was the only one to pick Syracuse to win it all and I was able to use all the money in Vegas on strippers, hookers, and blow and except for that nagging STD...wait, what was the question again?Oh yeah, um...no. El Guapo 8
Oh yeah, um...no.I was going to go a little harsher than this, but that works too.

Syracuse was a 5 seed that year.
I_fold08 1
I remember picking Syracuse to win it all that year (along with beating Kansas in the final) I couldn't shut up about how much of a genius I was back then.
dolfan 0
Mellowness.I'm a Nuggets fan (so I even have pro-Melo bias) and have definitely been encouraged by the progress he's made in the past few seasons. But, no...he's got a ways to go to be compared to James/Wade/Bryant. He's a hell of a scorer and has won a lot of games on the final shot, yes. He's improved his defense and seems to be maturing a bit, too. I agree with all of that, but he's still not the best player in the NBA.
kers2 0
I won two different March Madness pools that year by picking the Orange. Syracuse was a 5 seed that year.I hate to be that guy, but 3 seedMelo is such a beast. His offensive game is so versatile, and its good to see him putting in the effort to be a more complete player. I think he's right there with the Kobe/Bron/Wade group.
