tskillz187 0
Why are you betting the river? Seems like very thin value.Otherwise played fine.
trystero 0
yea river is probably a check behindI can see a case for raising turn / flop when the pot's HU and you have some history or read in regard to the villainpf is also debatable as this is FR - depends on the aggressiveness of the players behind you
BaseJester 1
I believe that preflop is a clear fold. If the raiser has proper values, you're putting yourself into a reverse implied odds situation. Also, there are several players yet to act who may reraise with something legitimate or as a squeeze. The flop and turn play I like, because he may be making both of the bets without a king.I'd check behind on this river, but I would like to hear your rationale for the bet. That is, what hands you're hoping to bluff or what hands you're hoping to get value from.

We are playing .05/.10 here, so we can in no way assume he has proper raising values. But yes, river bet makes no sense. He is prob no longer calling with pocket pairs, and may even fold KJ now due to the ace. Basically this is a "only hand that calls you has you beat" scenario.

We are playing .05/.10 here, so we can in no way assume he has proper raising values. The micros are not the donkfest that they once were. And, particularly on Tilt .05/.10, entering many pots can be expensive in rake. The rake is big enough that I want have or foresee a clear equity edge in any hand I play.IMHO, if the villain has low enough raising standards to make this profitable it will generally become apparent in 12 hands. And if this is the case, I'd want to consider a 3-bet.We're coin-flipping against loose-raising but sane villains. Here's against 30% of his hands:Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 7,171,129,152 games 0.047 secs 152,577,216,000 games/secBoard: Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 51.702% 49.73% 01.98% 3565900512 141719868.00 { KQo }Hand 1: 48.298% 46.32% 01.98% 3321788904 141719868.00 { 55+, A2s+, K5s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, A7o+, A5o, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o } And yes, I agree that hot & cold isn't the whole story and position (as you pointed out) is relevant. jmbreslin 0
Why are you betting the river? Seems like very thin value. In hindsight I have no idea. At the time my thought process was simply, "He checked, so he's afraid of the Ace, so I can rep the Ace." Stupidly simplistic thinking. There is no worse hand that will call a river bet. I did hesitate and seriously considered folding but I called because it was a minraise and decided to see if I could hit the flop. If the raise were standard rather than min, or if I had a read that the villain was a tight raiser, I'd definitely fold the KQ.
Dubey 1,035
yeah river bet is nonsensical. Most of the hands that were beating you got better (AK, AA), or didn't change (sets, 2-pairs) on the river. You won't get value from the hands that you beat because of the A,K out there, unless we get really thin value from KJ, KT.I'd like the bet a lot more if there was a flush draw or realistic straight draws on the flop. As played, we are at the very bottom of our range so just check back the river.
