Where was the list of people who played? Not the donks like us but the actual quasi-celebs? I was focussed on my game and wouldn't have recognized the difference between Eddie Shack and that "bang bang bang on the door baby" guy from the B-52's "Love Shack". . . . . I just wanted to take it down. Is there a place where this lsit is posted?

how bout someone post a left to right of who's who from the picture for those of us unable to attend. From the sounds of it maybe someone can post what they remember and the others can try to fill in the blanks.

  • 1 year later...
I have been slowly working on this all day since new information keeps coming in that I forgot about.Friday:We got held up at home and left about an hour and 45 minutes later than planned. Ton of traffic at the border and some construction made our drive close to 4.5 hours. We didn't stop for food because I knew we would be getting in towards the rush hour time and I wanted to avoid it. What makes it harder is that Canada has low speed limits and there were cops out like crazy Friday afternoon. Got to the hotel and missed it and had to somehow get back around and found it again and this time didn't miss it. Walked in and I immediately saw a group of people in hockey jerseys at the bar and I stumbled over and said hi to a few people and then went up to piss and change. Now, oddly enough, I am actually really shy. Very shy to be exact so I was admittedly nervous about this. But everyone was super cool and friendly and I felt comfortable right from the start. Not eating anything I ordered a Keiths White (which was awesome and I hope to be able to find some again) and sucked it down before we headed to the HHOF. It was a nice walk, talked to Adam and Casey and Mike. Got to the VIP thing and they weren't going to allow my wife in because she was not on the list but they finally gave in. That is where my wife and I got to talk to Wayne who as Adam I think said, is the nicest guy you will meet. It was great talking to him and he needs to post more here at FCP. Got to the table with our drinks and just shot the shit for awhile. I don't know who the guy was between me and Adam but he somehow ended up there and he was actually pretty nice. Habs fan though so good thing serge was at the other end of the table. Mike got his autograph from Keith and I talked to serge a bit and commented him on his luxurious locks. At some point we headed down to the hall and got ready to play. Took a plate of free food and scarfed it down and then met Jay, the FCHL Champ. Great guy and anyone who wears a Colts had to a NHL function is awesome in my book.Got seated at my table and had Casey on my left and Eddie Shack on my right. A couple people were cool and there was one real big douchebag at the other end of the table who had no clue what he was doing but made sure to cuss anyone out for beating him or raising him. I lost a hand early when my nut flush ran into a boat and I just waited for times to push. Eddie was bad but hitting hands like crazy for awhile. I believe at one point he actually got dealt aces two hands in a row which is sick when you are a player no one on the table respects in terms of play. Casey knocked him out and he took his wine and left. Zach, the new celeb of the table to his place and he was on the small and I was on the big and he went all in and I called with 53. He showed KQ and congratulated me on winning the hand before it played out. I indeed won the hand. After the break I think I lasted maybe 6 hands before I was forced to push all in. It was Zach, Casey, douchebag and myself in the hand. I had T2, Casey had T5, no clue what douche had and Zach had AK. 5 on the flop and Casey knocked all three of us out. Found my wife watching the end of the Bos/Car game while sucking down potato chips and a vodka/cranberry. We walked around a bit and then ended up watching Ray shooting targets where he was all excited about getting 9 out of 10. He kept telling us and my wife told him that at least he shot better than his Bruins that night. Good for her. By that point I had stopped drinking and was finally getting tired. We left to go get dinner since all we at was pretty much little stuff at the VIP. By the time I was done eating I passed out. Sat:Got up and headed down and saw Adam and Casey. Told them we were thinking of heading over the the Eaton Center and they said they were thinking of doing the same. Went back up and Liz was done showering and getting ready and we took a cab to the Eaton center. Crazy how big that place is and how many people are in there on a Saturday and within minutes of being in there we run into Adam and Casey. We headed to the food court and had lunch. I tried some of Adam's pountine just so I could say I had done so. It was good but I don't need a heart attack just yet. They went off to check out the Coach store so Adam could get a new gun and we walked around for awhile and ended up going to see Star Trek at the AMC across the street. Good movie. I hate Star Trek but loved this movie. Lots of good space porn. Headed back to the hotel and saw everyone playing poker in the lobby. I stayed and bought in and Liz went to go use the workout room. I didn't get to play many hands since it was close to the time we needed to leave and go watch the Pens game but I did get to watch biatch making plays with 42o and 43o and 82. Zach called one more round till we shut it down so I played my Q6s and Ray raised and myself and another person called. Flop came Q32 I think. I went all in and Ray called. He had Q4 vs my Q6. Luckily my 6 held on to play and I doubled up. We finished up and sat watching biatchs computer sweating the Philies game where he had the under and it was 6-2 in the bottom of the 9th and a runner on 2nd and Howard up at the plate. But he squeaked out a win.Came back down from telling Liz what the plan was and she finished working out and then was going to shower. I went down to let one of them know to grab 2 extra seats since she would be a little longer. John was the only one down there and we were watching the Jays/A's game that was 6-1 Jays in the bottom of the 9th. We knew Ray had $500 on that Jays and then someone hit a homer and it was 6-3 with two out. two more singles and they had 2 on and the tying run at the plate. By this time Ray and everyone were down and we watched the Jays walk the bases loaded. At that point Ray couldn't take it and they left to go to the bar and I watched and waited for Liz. She showed up 20 seconds after they left and caught up with them. Luckily the game was not on when we got there and the guy told us the Jays held on so Ray won his bet. Weeee. The rest of the night was a blur and as this day goes on I am being told things I don't remember. I guess I will just do bullet points of things I remember.-Liz pointed out to me that they served muscles and biatch told us about this place in ottawa and then Ray pointed us to his "muscles" by flexing his arms. It was funny, trust me.-prop bets. I can't remember them all but I have most on my itouch since we were drafting players. I had a bet with Mike on first shot, he had Pens I had caps. Took awhile but the caps got the first. Then biatch and I had a bet but I can't remember but I won it and then he presented another one for double or nothing. First to score, I got Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin and a player of my choice and he got the field. I added Guerin and we were off to the races. Didn't win that one. Ray, biatch, and I had a bet on what end the puck will be on at the end of the 1st peried. I had Caps goalies, Ray had Pens goalies, and biatch had the neutral zone. Of course it was in Caps goalies end with like 2 ticks on the clock and hit the end boards behind the pens goalie by the time it his 0. Had another bet with Arp, Ray, Mike, Biatch, myself and others I think on what dot the next face off would be at and the winner had to buy a girlie shot. I won that one. I somehow won a Daiquiri off biatch but off hand I don't remember how and I don't like them so I tried to bet Ray on something but he didn't want to since if I won I got nothing. So biatch and I bet something and again, he won the drink he already bought, but I don't remember the bet. Somehow a bet came to be in that Ray and I were to do a best out of 7 with odds/evens (using hands we shoot a number of fingers each and the sum total is odd or even). Ray had evens and I had odds. Loser had to buy a drink decided by John and biatch had to pick out a person in the bar to send that drink to. After biatch and ray decided which one ray should take (odds or evens) we started. I won it 4games to 2 and Ray had to buy a drink for a woman behind and off to the side of us. She accepted it and Ray was cool enough to go over and introduce himself and explain what happened so that the older woman didn't think we were making fun of her. Turns out her son was a announcer for the Leafs and she got a kick out of it.-I don't drink much, ever, not since I was much younger and I can say I drank more that night than the lass 2 years combined. -Somehow ages came up and Ray could not believe that I was 37 and Liz was 38. Liz showed him her license and he ran around the bar with it showing people. -I played pool but I actually shouldn't have because I could not focus at all. Sorry to my partners on that one.-Allegedly I bent biatch over the table and humped him. My wife did confirm this. I think he liked it.-biatch and ben at balls...of chicken-I purposely kept calling biatch bitch because he would scream, "NO MAN IT"S BI AA TCH!"-Zach is awesome and I didn't feel dirty at all rooting for his pens with him that night-Arp was hilarious. I was looking at some video I took that night and we did a salute to Darnelle and he just pops in and casual and tells Darnelle to go f himself. I will have it up int he next couple of days. But a great guy. -I grabbed Adams boobs and someone grabbed mine and there should be a pic of it out there somewhere...EDIT: A pic confirms it was Bens boobs, not adams.-I am now hearing that I was breakdancing in the lobby of the hotel after getting back from the bar. I cannot confirm or deny but my wife did tell me that I did. So I guess I did. She said Arp came in with me spinning on my back in the lobby and told her that he didn't know why she would marry me but now he understands.-I spent cleaning my iTouch this morning from all the shots and beer caked on it. Weird. Also looked at my notes of our scoring drafts and I can't spell when drunk-Played poker with John, Arp, Zach, Adam, Casey, and Ray after in the lobby and remember standing on the table in the lobby hugging Ray goodbye.SunGot up about 10:30 and took a 45 minute shower. Felt dead to the world. Finally get things ready to go at noon and headed down to check out and saw biatch and some hot girl watching dance videos on youtube. Got the car, left. Took 5+ hours to get home, was stuck in the tunnel for 45 minutes. Got home, sat down, started up the Wings game on the DVR.Great weekend and would love to do it again. Lots of great people on this site and everyone was super nice and fun to be around. Thanks for getting us all together Chris!
