AimHigher 0
I would probably want to re-raise against a button raiser preflop, I'm sure he has a reasonably legitimate hand since he is raising on two limpers but we are ahead of his range IMO. I would rather lead the flop because the board is very drawy (straight draw/flush draw) than go for a check and risk it getting checked through. Check-raising is acceptable if you know that the button raiser makes frequent continuation bets though. Also if you paste the HH into notepad and go Edit -> Replace then type ":#" in the find box and "=" in the replace box, hit go and then paste it into the edit box for this thread it SHOULD fix the hand history.Edit: I just saw he re-raised you after you check raised, but the cards aren't showing up so I can't post an opinion on that. =P
NonZeroPossibility 0
blah... Hate this spot. Only thing you beat that shoves here is KJ or flush draw.... Split to AK. Lose to AA, KK, QQ, KQ, 55. Reluctantly fold I think.

simo_8ball 0
I repop to $22 preflop and call a shove. As played, if you aren't calling a shove don't raise the flop.
Dictius 0
If villain really is a tight aggressive winning player, then he probably has some sense of position and has a fairly wide range on the button, so I would definitely be reraising preflop. On the flop I might lead out on this draw heavy board and prevent him taking a free card to hit a draw. There are a bunch of cards that we don't want on the turn (any broadway card and any spade). When you decide to check/raise, why did you essentially minraise? I don't think that achieves much, it gives a good price for lots of hands (spades, TJ) to call and try and outdraw you ($18 more for the villain to with ~$70 in the pot). I can't really think of a good amount to check/raise that will give villain sufficiently bad odds to call and draw and won't leave an awkward amount of money left on the turn. I think this is why I prefer leading out.

I also agree that the min. raise on the turn is a little weak, but it usually gets me the info I want without pot-committing myself. I will re-raise more in these situations in the future. The only way it seems that I get away from this hand is if he 3 bets all-in preflop.

simo_8ball 0
Now go answer my questions in "bored at work" and I'll try not to hound you for knowledge too much more. If villain is a thinking player he should shove AQ and 99 there preflop against me.If he's a nit then it's closer, but a "decent TAG" is never folding AK or QQ there, and I have equity enough to call against that range. Dictius 0
Taken from http://no-limit-holdem.wikidot.com/ No-Limit Hold'em StratCommon MisconceptionsYou have to find out where you're at.Betting or raising for information is overrated. It's very common for the information to be "Betting there was stupid." Focus on the more straight-forward reasons for being aggressive (betting for value, bluffing, and semi-bluffing), which sometimes also yield useful information as a side effect.
