i'm still not fully confident when playing live. i have some physical tells that i know of but ones of which i just can't get away from. i'm lucky that the players i mostly play against don't read physical tells at all. they look at you for 2 minutes and try to look like they're analyzing you but in fact they don't have that much of a clue. my blood pressure is still very high if i bluff or if i flop the nuts or whatever. i made my strategy by reading books and forums. i'm playing quite a bit more read (meaning betting pattern reads and lately sometimes timing tells) based than most online players (also professionals) do, who mostly overvalue the theoretical-math part a bit. i think calling an UTG raise with 8 3 off against a tight player can easily be +EV if you have the balls,the right type of enemy and the right post flop skills. oh and yeah this is for online cashgames / tournaments. live i play pretty much solid TAG and pushbotting (i only play tournaments live)greetings.

I think I came from mama's stomach.It all started on a rainy, dark, cold summers evening..........I basically got taught by a friend at uni. Read some books, and i'm p00p, still learning.

April 2004. I'm in Reno for a bowling tournament. Had seen a little poker on TV, no real clue about what I was doing, what hands to play, etc.Went to the Cal Neva and sat at a 1/2 limit game about noon with $100 and played virtually every hand I was dealt.... Next thing I know it's midnight and I had donked up a $125 win! Been hooked every since!

Played for a couple of months on occasion on very low limits.Then won a satilite, that lead to a satilite, that lead to a > 10k win.That got my attention.

played in freerolls and sucked, read a few books, watched Rounders, and then i was awesome.cashed in a few freerolls, built it up a bit (roll and confidence) on 1/2cent tables.got a good summer job and took a chance, made a few hundred and went back every night i made enough in tips to cover at least the min buy in.
