Kaveros 0
On my home network my wireless laptop connection is using an incredible amount of bandwidth.Infact last month alone it used up something like 70% more than any other machine (we have around 9 currently connected). Now this is the laptop I use to play online poker, and I play something like 90 hours week.Does anyone know the ball-park number of how much bandwidth online poker eats up?Because if it doesnt use up a gargantuous amount then I may have some kind of virus. Google results in nothing.I'm gonna guess virus. I have both pokerstars and Full Tilt running and am using very little bandwidth, like less than .5K per sec with spikes up to 3K occasionally. qyayqi 11
play a day with nothing but your poker running. if the bw usage drops accordingly, you'll know it is all the streaming content that is inflating your numbers & probably not a virus.if you don't run a virus checker, you can do a free online check at trendmicro. David_Nicoson 1
I suspect the answer is that poker takes very little bandwidth. What site are you playing on?

FourFlusher 0
Where do you check for bandwidth usage?
uncooper 1
Do you have a torrent client or other filesharing application open on this computer? That would be my first guess.

FatBurger 0
Keep in mind that a wireless connection would use slightly more bandwidth due to WPA/WEP/etc. Not sure of the amount offhand, but 70% more seems realistic.
