Twenty-five years ago at Binion's Horeshoe, Stu Unger outplayed former two-time WSOp champion Doyle Brunson to become the youngest champ ever of the World Series of Poker main event. For Unger, it was his first World Series of Poker, and he would successfully efned his title the following year.

Binion's Horseshoe Poker Hall of FameThe thirty-fourth annual World Series of Poker held at Binion's Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas was won by amateur Chris Moneymaker. Moneymaker had previously never engaged in live tournament poker play, and qualified by entering a satellite tournament on the internet. Riding a string of good play and good fortune through the final table, the Nashville, Tennessee, accountant turned his intial buy-in of just $40 into a WSOP record payout of $2.5 million. "If i can win it, anybody can," said MoneymakerNotes: Only 63 of the 839 WSOP players paid the full entry fee of $10,000 to compete for the grand prize.

thats interesting, I would have guessed higher. But I guess they also have the one table sat's at the casino before the event.

sorry these are late...i've been busy with personal stuff and haven't had time to post on this forum much.Rounder TriviaLayne Flack is considered to be one of the hottest tournament players in the world and shows up frequently at the final table of many major events, including a win in two 2003 WSOP events. Flack was born in South Dakota. His face was featured on a $5 chip at Binion's Horseshoe Casino.
