  1. going to LA for business next week. What type of games can I expect to be offered at commerce on weeknights. Generally lookings for middle limit from 30/60 to 100/200
  2. not true at all. I know Josh and right now he is more focused on being a father than a poker player. He will do very well at the WSOP.
  3. no, because i wont be called with hands she bluffs with and there are too many hands I am behind here.
  4. incredibly good loose passive 30 at bellagio thurs. night.4 limps. i call in sb with 99. 6 to the flopflop: AA4 with 2 spade.I check EP player bets, button(the only other aggressive player at the table who plays moderately well though tends to spew at time on the turn) raises, I 3-bet and get heads up.Turn: offsuit 7.I bet, call.River: offsuit 6.easy value bet or check to induce a bluff?
  5. Regardless 9% is too much. I remember in one of the small ones I was next to huck seed when they announced the payout structure in a single day event and he said "No way does this event take 250K to run"
  6. Thanks for reminding me why i dont post here very often.
  7. Daniel,Heard you were playing in Bobby's room this weekend. I thought you were only playing at Wynn? what happened? is your contract up or did they let you out of it because there is no ultra high action there
  8. Daniel,do you think this ESPN format is driven by players who dont want to give out too much free information? I know Paul Phillips (who appeared) in one of Fox's "live" poker events said he thoughts players played differently (especially Ivey heads up) because they didnt want their tendancies shown for the world.btw, I think Fox's coverage of the plaza tourney was the best poker event ever.Per ESPN, I think the problem is that there is no real insight provided by the broadcasters. I don't understand why they don't bring a guest commentors (player who didnt make the final table) to actual pu
  9. I think we have to agree to disagree on this one. Iw ill agree that the turn bet is questionable.
  10. Against a tight player, no. There is a pretty good chance this flop completely missed him. Definitely enough to risk 20 to win a 30$ pot.Against a loose player, I agree completely that you dont want to build a pot in this situation. But you need to take down some hands without a big hand for several reasons-- 1) to ensure you get some more action on your bigger hands and 2) keep your opponent playing defense.
  11. The deck is stacked. So the other guy could easily have quad kings.I mistyped the hand. the river was a king of a different suit. Also to give some perspective. I bet the flop because i knew the button was tight enough that he wouldnt call with nothing so I figured I had a pretty good chance of taking down the small pot, something rather important in NLHE.
  12. Have run into several hands like this recently and would like thoughts. All of the relative players in the hand are reasonable, tight and aggressive.NLHE with 5/10 blinds. All relative players have at least $1K in front of them In the BB with Kc 5d Folded to Button who open limp. SB limps. I check. Flop: Kd 8d 3d. SB checked. I bet 20. Button calls. Sb folds. Pot = 70 Turn: 7h. I bet 40. Button calls. River: KsWhat do you do? If you say check-call. How large a bet do you call?
  13. rumor has it that there will be a WPT event next year at wynn. A couple of questions1) Can anyone confirm this or any other major tourney at wynn2) if there is a big event there, would Daniel be allowed to play since he is a Wynn employee?
  14. Limping here is better for MANY reasons: In a 15/30 game, the small blind is 10. It is only costing you $5 in to a $25 pot. ( 5:1 )you have almost ZERO fold equity, since the BB knows he will have position on you for the rest of the hand, and he is getting 3:1 on his call. Your hand ( the 8-9 ) also doesn't figure to be a prohibitive favorite either. If you raise, you are almost forced to lead the flop no matter what, or check and give up the pot to a bet. Calling lets you get that 5:1 when you KNOW you will win the pot more than 1 in 5 times, while raising moves you all the way down to g
  15. For all you game theorists out there. Here is a simple game with two players, A and B. A is given $1000 and is ableto split it between he and B any way he chooses. B has the option to accept orreject the offer. If he accepts the offer, the money is divided according toA's split. If B rejects the offer, both players get nothing. At face value, this game isn't interesting if played one time. B should alwaysaccept. However, if this game is played 1000 times. it gets more interesting. Now consider that there will be 10 games going on at the same time with 10 different As and 10 different Bs. For the
  16. At bellagio, the 80 game is played with $20 chips. The only 40/80 they offer is a mixed games so you see $5 chips as well for antes in the stud portion.
  17. It means playing more than 1 table online. You can play multiple tables at once online to see more hands. I just don't think many people here play higher online limits.the real question is how many is too many. I dont play more than 3 but i know lots who play 6-8 at a time.
  18. I've played against David in cash games. While he might not always make the best fundamental plays, his reads are better than anyone I have ever seen... Daniel included. When he gets more experience, he will be on the best players in the world. That said, limit holdem is likely is best game. I would not be surprised to see him make a final table
  19. phil plays in cash games but usually around the 300-600 or 400-800 level. Most likely he is talking about johnny chan. Its pretty well known that chan has some major holes in his game outside of holdem
  20. will daniel slow down at all at 5k/pop? my over/under is 11 rebuys.
  21. just to let you know, higher level play isnt much better. actually once you hit 10/20 on UB the play is pretty decent and there are alot of bots out there. butin mixed gamess triple draw play is horrible
  22. why did you go off on the player who called for the clock? he has the right to do it after one second. sounds like he got you off your game.
  23. Daniel,i agee with your answer, however, how would youapproach it if you knew your opponent was likely to 3 bet top pair. would this slow you down at all>
  24. If you are committed to the hand, then you have to raise the turn. By raising the turn, you will get an extra bet if you improve and will likely save a bet if you dont. SOmething that wasnt mentioned here but is important is the likelihood of being 3-bet. Will this opponent 3-bet a pair of 7s on the turn or a draw in this situation. Even if he would, he would like need to do this alot to make raising wrong.
