  1. I understand your happiness, cuz bad players would lose all their money in those spots, but in reality, the folds are not great. First your set was up against a flush, str8, str8 flush, and possible over set, which he had. A guy pulls the trigger for all his money on that board, if you don't have a stone cold read, easy laydown. On the Ace Queen, the guy could have set, which he did, or AA KK. So the folds are smart, but you were not in that tough of situations. Not to knock you though cuz all my money would ofwent in on the flop when I turned my set of 2's.
  2. 7+7+3=17 preflop. 5 handed 3 limpers your 7 and opp 7 right?? A pot sized raise on the flop is best here 17. You raise only 10, not the worse raise in the world, opp calls. Now there is 37 in pot and you only raise 15 on turn? Aces are only one pair you have to protect them with strong bets. Also the bet on the river i feel is wrong, unless you put him on pair of kings and your value betting. What did you put your Opp on??
  3. Most people call without thinking twice. Only a good player would examine the possibilitties. In situations like this, there is no right answer!!! You go with your gut, plain and simple!!
  4. Stop playing poker!! I used to be the same way get bent out of shape when the cards spit in your face. If u really want to be a very good to great player then you have to get your emotions in check. My advice to is for a year starting now, don't worry about wins and lossses. Worry about how well you played. Grade yourself A,B,C,D,F. After that year regardless of money, if your grade is good, continue playing. If it is bad quit!!
  5. Holy censored your dumbop already noted that sb is a maniac and bb is not confident in his hand, there's no reason to give either credit for aces or kings, so we have the best hand right now.here's a few things you need to know:#1 assuming that he'll set bb all in as well, he's putting in 65 to win 70+70+50 = 65 to win 170. or getting 2.62 : 1 odds, not that 1.7 bs you were spouting#2 at worse he's 43% to win (a suited ak and a pp). with those odds, he only need to be 38% to win to make money. or he could be 46% to win (a nonsuited ak and a pp) or 50% to win (two big suited aces) or 57% to win
  6. 1/2 NLH on FTP. I raise on button to 7 with 5s 6s. One caller. flop is Kc 7s 8s. Check to me I bet 15. Call. Turn is Ace. Check I raise 20. Opp makes 45. I call. River is Kh. Opp checks I smell weakness and move all in for 200, opp has around 300 left. He thinks, and then folds and as soon as he posts nice 2 outter, I show the bluff. So don't talk to me about raising with nothing when I smell weakness. Give me a green light I go thru, though sometimes a semi is coming thru the intersection!!
  7. Familiar home game .50/1.00 . Battle of blinds Sb limps I check in BB with jc 4c. Flop is Ac 8d 6c. SB bets 2.00. Wierd since this guy is definition of a Rock. I call. Turn is 8c. Check Check. River is Kc. He bets two. I figure only way he calls a reraise is if I'm beat I call. He shows Ah 8s, FULL BOAT. I only lost 5 dollars in a spot where most players would go broke or lose a lot more money. OPINIONS???
  8. Little backround. Started the year with a 6000 bankroll. Bad money management, bad play and even worse luck wiped it out. I bought in for 50 twice which is alot for me at this point. SB was all in but BB had about 20 left. The smooth call also worried me a bit. I have mad confidence in my play, and didn't want to coinflip 50-70 of my money. Of course in a tourney 99% of the time I make this call.
  9. If u call and have the best hand good, but the only way he is calling a raise is if your beat.
  10. Do u fold in this spot??? .50/1.00 blinds at a familiar home game, I pick up QQ on the button. Raise 5, SB moves in for 50, BB quickly calls, but not to confident. SB is a Kamakazie who would make that same move there with 6 3 offsuit, swear!! BB is a talented player. I'm up 30 at this point and feel confident in my play and stack to chip away and win more. Figure best case one has AK and I don't really want to coin flip 50 dollars. I fold??? OPINIONS?? SB has 77 BB has AK, I would have won!! I ended up winning 80 that night!
  11. I just posted a situation with folding QQ preflop. But yes I agree how can u not call QQ vs random hand???
  12. Do U fold in this spot? .50/1.00 NLH, familiar opponents. One before button, I pick up queens. Raise 5, button folds, SB moves in for 50 more and BB immediately calls, but no to confident. I've never won AK vs QQ either way and I'm thinking one has to at least have that, maybe bigger. Already up 30 total, I felt confident in my stack and play to chip away and win more. SB is a Kamakaizie and wil go all in, in that spot with 64 off suit, no joke!!. BB is a talented player. I fold??? SB has 77 and BB has AK off suit. I would have won the hand!! OPINIONS??? By the way I"m known as an
  13. I'm not jealous. I'm just commenting on a public figure. Daniel is a great player and by all accounts a great guy. I wish him nothing but the best except when I play a pot with him. Another then that GL!
  14. My favorite thing ala Stu Ungar, is taking all some one's money with a trap, and leaving them out back mumbling to themselves about what went wrong. Throw in making them vomit over it, and that's beauty!
  15. What makes me sick is when two people all in. They say hey good luck. That makes me sick. Cuz what they really mean, is I hope you have the worst luck you've ever had in this spot and in pots against me and I have the best luck in the world!!! That fake good luck. makes me sick.
  16. Paraphrasing of course. What danny said about the recent TV cash game he played in. "I lost the most of anyone the first day, but the 2nd day I won the most of anyone. This is typical of the way I play though. When I'm hitting flops and catching cards I crush, when I'm not I lose." DUH!! You've proven your a top flight player, but even in Play Poker Like The Pros, Hellmuth talks about your major swings. You seem to like to put alot of money on the line on draws. I always thought great players didn't like to gamble. But hey what do I know. Your poker royalty and I"m just a wanna be.
  17. Isn't it obvious!! There was no NHL. Daniel didn't spend hours and hours GMing is fantasy team.
  18. After every session you play, win or lose analyze HONESTLY how u played. Did you make some good bets that opponents looked up. Why did they look you up? Did you make some calls that were good and bad. Why? Did you bet the proper amount of money in each situation? Were you unlucky or lucky. Always, ALWAYS, scrutinize the keys hands(Big Pots)! Thinking about the game helps tremendously. Here's a quote that I think is perfect for poker."Not knowing oneself and not knowing opponent, certain defeat."Knowing oneself, but not opponent, 1 win 1 loss"Knowing oneself and opponent certain victo
  19. .50/1.00 Blinds. Middle position raises 5 two callers and I pick up J J on the button. I make it 15 to go. BB calls 15 and moves in for 15 more. Everyone folds to me. This guy when he gets bored and a little tipsy, makes some of the worst plays, you'll ever likely see. I play with these guys often. A player makes a comment" my Jacks are no good, "when he folds shyt!! The thought is he makes horrible plays, is this one of those here? But more often then not when I call he has a real hand, instead of the goofy 6 3 offsuit. MATH makes it easy. 5+5+5+=15. My 5+10 call and raise makes p
  20. 3 people limp to see a flop. I have jc 4c. flop is ac 9c 8s. A solid rock bets small, I call. Other player folds. Turn is 8c. Rock checks, I check. River is Kc. Rock bets small. The small raise on the flop and check on the turn smells as this guy is tight and would never bluff that flop. Of course though I have to call. He flips over A 8!!!.
  21. Ivey is only 27, and would dominate all those guys, even if they all combined their poker powers together..
  22. Has to be Super Systems. The man has been winning at high stakes poker for 40 plus years.
  23. .50/1.00 blinds. 5 handed 3 limpers to me, I have Ad Kd in SB. I make it 5 to go. 3 callers. Flop comes td 7s 4d. I raised 9, one caller it's reraised 9 Button folds. I call the 9 so does the player to my left. turn is 9s. I check guy to my left moves all in for 19 more. Original re raiser folds. I play with these guys all the time so I know the all in guy does not have a set un less he had 9's, either way I'm getting almost 5-1 on my money and at worst I'm 4-1 at best only 2.5-1. I call opp has ac th, i have 12 outs, as is my MO i miss the draw. Think the only mistake made was not
  24. he only has 3 outs instead of 6, so almost the worst beat possible. If it was six he could hit A 9 instead of A A or 9 9
  25. I came up with it, but you can use it"I don't need the best hand, I already have the nuts."
