  1. I think he'll win it if the Jets make the playoffs. They were projected to win 5.5 games this year and they by far and away exceded those expectations. They control their own destiny now. I haven't been this pumped for a football game since 04.
  2. Also, Reed Johnson is not the most underrated player in the AL. Wells might be that, but by no means is Johnson. Personally, I think that it's Michael Young, but he got some publicity from the All Star game this year. Johnson is a nice player, but he's nothing too special.
  3. I don't think it's a good idea to compare the players by what you think the order in the lineup is going to be. Arod does not bat third. However, if you want to compare these lineups I think the Yanks are better in every position except for maybe Thomas over Giambi and Arod vs Wells. It's so hard to judge Arod and how valuable he actually is to our team.
  4. I highly doubt the Blue Jays will have a better lineup then the Yankees on opening day. A lot would have to happen for that to be possible. Damon, Jeter, Abreu, Arod, Giambi, Matsui, Cano, Posada, ?. That's the best lineup in baseball. Last year Toronto was in the middle of the pack with runs scored in the AL and I don't have much reason to believe they will be any better than 5th this year. I also don't feel that their defense is going to make this up.
  5. Who do you guys think have the best minor league system right now? I don't really follow the minor leagues so I know very little about it, but I know the Yankees have a lot of talent and I'm curious as to where they stand right now.
  6. That's good lineup, but it's still only the 3rd best in the division.
  7. Thanks. This looks really good. I have another question though: What makes sites move up in the rankings on search engines? Is it by related words, popularity of the site, or are there other factors? My guess is that it's all about popularity.
  8. I want to create a free website that will be viewed frequently. I plan on doing little work to promote this site. Is this possible, considering I plan on it being cost-free? I don't care if these sites want to put their own advertisements on it as long as I don't get a bill for the site. Any suggestions on where to start? My guess is I'm asking for something that's impossible, but I figured I'd just ask anyway.
  9. I mostly agree with DN, but I think it's a mistake for any parent to let their kid drop out of high school no matter how ambitious the child is. It's always good to have that diploma to make things easier in case you decide to go to college. Plus, DN was illegally hustling. DN, do you honestly believe parents should respect that, because you were ambitious? I'm not saying that parents who allow this don't care about their children, but I do think it's a mistake.
  10. I don't think Donelly would be a good closer. He's gotten worse every year since 04 and now has to come to a hitters park. He's a decent 7th or 8th inning guy, but the Red Sox need to do better for the closer role. It will be interesting to see who they go after or if they go after anybody. Mike Gonzalez would be a good fit, but I don't know who the Red Sox would trade for him. They want Coco Crisp, which actually might be worth it for the Sox.
  11. I got Chan's book along with Chen's book and from the 100 or so pages I've read I really like it. Although it's a lot of pages the book moves quick and is a great read to tune up your limit hold'em.
  12. I just got mine in the mail and flipped through it. Just flipping through it was enough to boggle my mind. I'll sit down and start reading it eventually, but it looks more complicated than any other book I've ever read.
  13. Well at this rate who exactly is your closer?
  14. Well...it was a good win this week. However, Miami hates the Jets and they just came off a rough loss. If the Jets can find a way to beat Miami I think they'll end up playing in January, but it's not going to be easy.
  15. I wouldn't exactly call him sick. He is 4/14 in SVO lifetime and has not pitched as well the past few years as he did his first few. If the Red Sox are planning on him being the closer they can expect a lot of blown saves. Right now he looks like he might be the Sox closer with their terrible bullpen.
  16. Hey, they just beat the mighty Hawks by about that much the other night. Plus they are only 1.5 games back in the tough Atlantic.
  17. This would not make sense from a Heat standpoint. Iverson is a selfish player and they need to get younger. I don't think it would make sense for the Heat to take a shot and find out how Iverson would respond to Wade being the man.
  18. They are comparable, because of their speed, but Vince runs differently than Vick. Vick likes to run to the sides while Vince tends to use his line to run down the middle. I agree that Vince will be much better than Vick. Vince's arm is much more accurate and his comebacks have been quite impressive. I will be surprised if he doesn't have a few rings on his fingers before his time is up.
  19. Even though the Red Sox have improved I don't think it's enough for them to win the East. While their offense and starting pitching is really good, I expect that there will be a lot of blown games from the 7th inning on. It will be interesting to see who the Red Sox target for relief. There is rumor about the Yankees going after Mike Gonzalez, but I wonder how available he is. If the Yankees are interested in him I'd imagine that the Red Sox would be, considering he went 24/24 in SVO last year.
  20. Yanks signed Pettitte for 1 year and $16 million. I think this might be the boost we need to achieve our ultimate goal, win another World Series.
  21. Jack plays Indy and NE at home, Tenn and KC on the road 2-2KC plays Bal and Jack at home, SD and Oak on the road 2-2*Den plays SD and Zona on the road, Cinci and SF at home 3-1*Jets play Buffalo and Oak at home, Minny and Mia on the road 3-1Cinci plays Oak and Pit at home, Indy and Denver on the road 2-2From what you said I don't think Jacksonville is toast, but I don't think they are consistent enough to make it. They have lost to bad teams and beat the good teams. That makes me wonder about their coaching staff. While the Jets are the worst team mentioned about their weak schedule makes me
  22. He certainly stunk it up against the Yankees last year. However, there weren't too many Red Sox pitchers who didn't. This is ridiculous... JD Drew for 5yr/70 million.
  23. Getting rid of Manny would be a mistake. I don't think there's anybody who hits the Yanks better than him. The Red Sox will now have a pretty solid rotation, but this bullpen is terrible. Some good news for the Red Sox is Jon Lester is nearly cancer free. I'm rooting hard for his return and hopefully he'll be able to stink it up on the mound once again this year.
