  1. Royal, mad props on the new avatar! Good memories. "Cal-ee-forn-ee-a!"In case you were wondering whatever happened to the 'Wizard', here is an updated photo.pretty creepy huh? Just thought id throw that out there.
  2. Pre-flopYour first mistake was raising preflop in my opinion. If the initial raiser is raising every hand he plays he wont fold to your raise and since you are only two positions away from him, the pot isnt big enough to allow an effective pot sized raise to isolate, as you can see by the whole table calling. Post-FlopYou have 2 draws. A gut shot to a low straight that may not be good and a back door draw that may not be good if the board pairs. id fold on the flop to the $12 all in bet. You just dont have anything to be calling with. You maybe up against a set and with other players in the po

  9. Hey guys, Im taking a trip to Branson, MO at the end of October and I was wondering if anyone knew of any casinos or good poker in/around Branson. Anyone with any 'must see' attractions in Branson would be much appreciated as well. My wife and I are vacationing with family and id like to try and get some poker in while im there. Thanks in advance.
  10. I just got an email from Full Tilt saying they are introducing CAP No-Limit and CAP Pot-Limit games. Has anyone played this before anywhere? The idea is that each hand is capped at a certain amount and once the cap is reached no more money can be bet. So if you are playing 1/2 NL with a $60 CAP and a player bets $12 you can fold call or raise up to $60. If you make it the CAP you are considered ALL-IN on that hand and no more can be risked. It is an interesting concept and not sure how many of you have given it a shot or know more about it. Thoughts?
  11. That seems to be the safest thing. Most people dont like being micromanaged unless they are really willing to learn and grow. If he is willing to be 'mentored' by you then the suggestions I gave should be very feasible, otherwise I don't believe its worth damaging a friendship over. He will figure it out one way or another. Most people have to go broke a few times before they realize what going broke means, and sometimes that is the best school teacher.
  12. Royal, The Ace On The River tip is really a good one. I fell in love with that book because it was the first of its kind and really makes playing winning poker real and not some system that is attainable if applied. The approach is truly revolutionary. That aside, I think the responsibility falls more so on you than your buddy. You see, you have decided to 'bankroll' him for whatever reason and it seems it is because you want him to improve but dont want him to risk his own money with the potential of going broke. While the idea is, on the surface, a good one, it is fatally flawed. The problem
