  1. You don't need to buy into any shoe manufacture's proprietary care ecosystem. Their suggestions can help you identify the general materials that need to be considered and all, but ultimately if you're living a BMW lifestyle, you'll just want to find a shoe/boot care professional whose work you respect, and trust xer with all of your footwear.
  2. People concerned with the best $1 slice in New York are titanic losers. Good pizza is so little money, even in expensive cities. Especially if you are like a tourist or something, and you're putting time and energy into researching where to get the best pizza, but then constraining that to pizza that can profitably be sold for $1 in NYC, you're a dummy who just ruined your vacation by not having $6 for lunch.
  3. I'm not trying to force an education on anyone, and I've never been on one of those scooters. I will say though, if you have no friends and no one loves you on a romantic level, it might be because you hate everything that's fun, bought the smallest BMW engine you could find, and never eat at cool or interesting restaurants. It's not too late to Win, you just have to believe in yourselves.
  4. Am I alone in thinking that our author has a thing for Trisha? I'm only on the second page.
  5. In a lot of ways, I think the idea of a "cultural melting pot" is a stupid and overrated concept. The obvious political reason is that what it actually ends up being tends to be sort of selected by a ruling cultural class. But I actually find it off-putting for reasons much more agreeable to classical colonial sensibilities. The word "creole" has had a lot of different ethnic meanings, confusingly from mostly similar time periods in the same regions. But my favorite usage was as a sort of pejorative for New World-born, middle class colonialists and their vapid, shallow grab bag of surface-deep
  6. Respectability politics are the domain of the middle class. What you have to repress and learn to despise, the poor and the rich flaunt openly. Guys like Dan Bilzerian and I wear sandals all the time. It boggles my mind that adults would pay $6 or whatever it is for Chipotle. I want to call you all racists, but I honestly don't even think it's about racism. I assume Brvy is a racist, but he also has taste, and can see past ethnic terror and embrace a colonial outlook that values the exploitation of near and distant cultures for their exotic culinary treasures, without puking them into Mex
  7. Here is one to keep an eye on, Essay: https://bringatraile...stroker-engine/ Beepers pair perfectly with a car like that, too. Some of the 8-series trims even came with car phones, not sure which ones other than the CSI.
  8. In my heart, Wang and Jayson Webber are off someplace together, living out a scaled down parallel of California Split.
  9. I don't blame you for not going over 20K on that Cosworth, SA. It's dope, and those are dope little weekend cars in general, but that's way high based on what I've paid not that long ago, and it didn't even meet the reserve. Keep hunting, you may have to go outside the region for one that's cheap and relatively rust-free.
  10. Last problem I had with a dealership, my lawyer was the one who revolved the situation for me.
  11. Mercedes is definitely making some cool cars right now too. I haven't driven an AMG GT R yet, but it's my understanding that they are great at that price point. I'd look at it if I were in the market for a 911 or something. I think you have the right idea on brands, the Germans have really done a great job of keeping it classy since after the holocaust. But I don't think you're thinking big enough. The Germans have big ideas and take risks. They might get knocked down, but they get back up. Swing for the fences like the Germans, you don't need a $30K brand new Mercedes, you need one from t
  12. Hey SA, check this out: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-mercedes-benz-190e-2-3-16-13/ I don't know how you feel about Mercs, but you can get a TON of 190E for your money, and these are built better than an E30 M3, for 1/4 the price. The stock inputs are going to feel a lot sloppier, but that's an easy fix in the aftermarket, and I think it's a cooler car in a lot of ways, with less vape baggage attached to it. Nice little affordable option for a cultured German car guy your age.
  13. If you want to upgrade, I can't recommend the M2 Competition enough. I think it's the best car BMW's ever made, and it's probably less expensive than a Corvette. They may be selling a little over sticker for a little longer, but that won't last, they aren't artificially limiting them. If you want a beater second car for high speed cruising, I'd honestly rather have a lot of things than a Corvette. You can find E60 M5s between $12K and $20K, and that V10 is going to sound a lot classier than a boring old LS.
  14. I think McGee is just trying to drive a wedge between us, because he's still doing his JDM thing and he's jealous. I'm not going to take the bait, the BMW lifestyle is all about positivity. Have you thought about a second car? I was trying to find you an E60 M5 in your area, but this E30 looks really clean: https://kansascity.c...6697169930.html Also, "BMW LAW" is available as a personalized plate.
  15. Hey SA, I finally saw they new M.I. installment, and I get your enthusiasm now. That was a total BMW movie, start to finish. They even packed Ving Rhames into an E30. I'm sorry I doubted my BMW brother.
  16. It's no secret that I don't follow poker as closely as I once did. For example, Jamie Gold is sincerely the last WSOP ME champion I could name. So while this may not be news to some of you, I'm utterly devastated to learn that Ellix Powers left this world three years ago. May he call you with jack-high forever. https://www.pokernews.com/news/2015/11/the-life-and-times-of-ellix-powers-23489.htm
  17. Don't get me wrong, for pure utility, there is nothing wrong with a Big Green Egg, but I consider them something of a chav smoker. I'm not paying Burberry prices for Burberry quality and the Burberry lifestyle that comes with it. I have a Komodo Kamado, but it was kind of a minbet actually, as I mostly chose it because it comes in a bunch of different colors, and thus I was able to match look I already had going without having it re-tiled or something.
  18. Hey, not everyone has to like women and minorities.
  19. I always found Mindy to be one of the funniest people on the Office. I never saw her show, but I saw a little bit of press she did for it, and found her really funny in that too. I can't see why anyone would be pessimistic about her joining a sitcom.
  20. The last thing in the world I want is to attract the attention of someone who knows that an R32 is more desirable than a Maxima. I'd rather strike up a conversation at the pump with someone with money and a boring life, who might want to watch his partner and I through a two-way mirror while we do hand stuff wearing BMW-branded driving gloves.
  21. I didn't know you were a BMW guy, Essay. Does it surprise anyone here that I am too? After I wrecked the Civic when El-G and I raced, I decided to stop living my life a quarter mile at a time and embrace the Lifestyle.
  22. I didn't even get an apology when he said my pastrami is goy.
  23. Let's not start saying things we can't take back.
  24. Oh, shit, I forgot to address an oversight in McGee's list of acceptable ways to prepare brisket: pastrami. It's a lot more planning, but I think it's actually more forgiving than just smoking an unbrined brisket, and the results are incredible. Bonus points if you also make your own kraut. You can get weird with kraut and pickle all kinds of weird shit too, I really like to do a mix that's heavy on sprouts.
