  1. I recently saw an ad for HBO's "making of GoT" retrospective masturbatory production. Then I was thinking more about that and about the video I posted. The main thought I have is that some, quite a few actually, of the actors from this show as well as tons of behind the scenes production types (costumers, set makers etc) have to be pretty damn mad at B&W for screwing up the legacy of this show with this turd hat of a final season. For a whole lot of people this is their career defining achievement and it is forever tainted because B&W simply couldn't be bothered to DO THEIR ****ING JOBS
  2. I wish this would have been posted at the beginning of the season. 3 minutes of GoT cast being disappointed by season 8.
  3. The heel turn was too drastic too quick. Varys must have suffered a head wound during the battle of winterfell and gone into hodor-like idiocy for him to go about it the way he did. Some prime examples of the negative aspects of deus ex this season. I read an (unconfirmed by me) assertion somewhere that HBO offered B&W as many episodes as they needed to wrap this up and I think they should have stuck with the 10 eps per season model. They are ramming and jamming shit down our throats to the disservice of the show's legacy so they can go do star wars. Basically, they are doing the e
  4. Gotta kinda go with wavy brvy here. Sounds like you're rep is solid with the majority, or at least a good portion...some(?) of leadership. Maybe take this opportunity to build a better relationship with the CEO. Interact with him regularly and at each milestone to give updates and solicit his feedback under the aegis of attempting to give him opportunity to stay apprised and/or head off any reservations he had about you leading the project.
  5. Yep, brv might as well have attended a laser light show with a soundtrack by michael bay.
  6. I just read today that one of the spinoff projects is dead. One, or the one(?) remaining is a prequel set thousands of years prior to the beginning of the current story. So likely the story of the first men. Which would likely tell the story of the war with the children of the forest and the creation of the night king.
  7. been catching episodes all week during the marathon hbo has been doing. i think the hardest hit is still episode 9 of season 5 when stannis let's the red witch have her wish with shireen.
  8. Went to RI, ate all kinds of raw oysters and clams. Come back to Nebraska and instantly get food poisoning. WTF
  9. If I really apply myself to learn more about infrastructure architecture and maybe grab a couple of key certifications. So no. But I think I could realistically hit a director level.
  10. I would like to remind you of one Powers Boothe sir. I will not have you dishonor his memory by overlooking one of the best delivered lines of all filmdom when he tells Wyatt bye. Tombstone was the Lethal Weapon version of Wyatt's biography. The Costner flick was him trying recapture Oscar glory he had with Dances. and yes, Val was phenomenal
  11. I see a typo of "not a log going on here" and was going to edit to say "lot." However, I have been a bit backed up the last day or two, so I'm going to let it stand. Speaking of just absolute bad taste in movies, a coworker told me they don't care for Tombstone and much prefer Wyatt Earp. His boss and I had to tell him the long list of reasons he was wrong.
  12. buy yourself some "word of the day" calendars, probably at least a dozen or so different ones to start. Then flip through them 1 by 1 until you find one that contains the word "moot." Then go out and buy about 75-100 more of that calendar. When the date arrives put those things everywhere. In her yard. On top of her car. If there is a specific drive thru she hits for morning coffee, guess what's gonna be waiting for her? Sprinkle them liberally around the office, break room, conference rooms and, of course, the women's toilets (every stall) as well. Bonus points if you repeat and find ano
  13. I read this last night and was wondering why you were kinda grousing about putting in 30 hours in 4 days until I woke up this morning and realized today was only Thursday. I apologize for calling you a "whiny millennial bitch."
  14. something, something, you don't actually live longer it just feels that way.
  15. For you, I think it's more impostor syndrome than peter principle.
  16. That is kind of one of my concerns. One can say no only so many times and I've already turned down an offer to move to compliance. However, I think if I apply the proper reasoning for saying no (I have no SO to tend the homestead in my absence, I'm not just starting my career and have people reporting to me etc.) I might be able to get away with it.
  17. Speaking of humidity. Anybody spent the spring/summer in RI? Company is talking about sending someone out there as a "culture ambassador" for a recently acquired company and the CIO asked me if I would be interested. They would rent a furnished apartment etc for me plus pay an extra stipend over salary (not sure how much yet, still being fleshed out). I figure I could negotiate maybe 1 flight a month back here too. Not sure I can do it though. I'd have to find somebody to take care of my house and stuff. We're announcing bonuses. I got to tell my direct reports how much they were getting
  18. Had a near 70 degree day last weekend just to add insult to injury.
  19. My department has grown due to acquisitions so we're shaking up the org structure. Two people who currently report to my boss are going to start reporting to me next week. Apparently, when informed one of them said "I'll probably be looking for a new job." Yessiree, with that attitude you most likely will and I'll help make sure you have plenty of free time to do so, bucko.
