  1. Got into Vegas Sunday around 5:30 and was in the room at the Bellagio by 6:30 thanks to online check in. Online registration for hotel rooms is a huge plus. The line was ridiculously long when we got there which was kind of odd considering the airport was dead. No line for cabs. After dropping off the luggage we ran over to CVS to pick up a case of water and some snacks. Then met up with friends for dinner, a few drinks and a little gamboool. Hit the pool Monday morning until about 2ish then up to the room for a little afternoon delight and a nap before picking up a drink out in front of cae
  2. I stayed there for free back in '08 when everybody was cancelling vegas conferences and shit, that was pretty sweet. Still get offers for $109 per so make sure you get a players card even if you're only gonna play poker.
  3. Yeah the Wynn was really nice when I stayed there. I'm hoping one of these times I can stay at Aria.
  4. I was the highest ranking person in my department to be in the office, or even working from home, today. I left about 3:30 because I put in 10 hours Tuesday, 10.5 on Wednesday, and 2 yesterday even though it was a holiday. Couple all that with the fact I'm on vacation until the 16th and there was no way I was putting in a full day today. Heading to Vegas Sunday afternoon for 4 nights. Staying at the Bellagio again so blondie gets the chance to stay there. This go around we're meeting up with a good friend of mine from high school and his wife so that should be fun. Been hitting hitorstand
  5. If mic work, ring presence, and main stream appeal are criteria then where is Rowdy Roddy Piper? I mean, he jumped to movies before any of the other wrestlers tried it AND his starring vehicle is one of the most referenced and imitated sci fi cult hits of all time.
  6. Brett Hart should be on that list for the Montreal screw job alone. The absences of Arn Anderson and Dusty Rhodes are glaring omissions. Yet again, you're out of your element Donny. Wait, is your main criteria cross over or general popular culture notability? Then you might be in the ball park. If it's actual wrasslin cred, then you got mostly johnny come latelies and products of modern chemistry, not wrestlers. Maybe it's just WWE (the fact they lost their logo to a bunch of tree huggers still cracks me up)? I don't know, this is a really poorly considered list. oh, and WCW and ECW 4 lyfe
  7. it would probably look better on an adult's wrist. I think I'm going to buy a decent watch this summer. What are some good makers with a selection in the 500-1k range?
  8. I recently was reading an article about that joint and how expensive it was etc. Last time I went to the Wynn in Vegas is probably the last time I will go. Couldn't get a free drink playing max credits at the bar. Bartender even apologized.
  9. Solid retort but i'm going with Baker Street for longevity and pop culture usage in films and television. Kenny Loggins, especially the Loggins and Messina years. Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, Doobie Bros, Mr. Mister, Toto, and Steely Dan (arguably the pinnacle in terms of crossover out of yacht rock genre). Go get 'em Tiger! And, yes, Steve Winwood. Although Dennis Reynolds considers him "workout music."
  10. Friday before leaving work I sent each of my directs a meeting invite with an attachment which was a single page "review" and requested that they read before leaving or over the week in order to formulate questions etc. The review has 2 sections. Top section identified 2-4 strengths where they were performing above basic and 2-4 opportunities for areas where I would like to see growth. Basic, 1 sentence observations. Now it should be mentioned that the opportunities weren't 100% things they were doing poorly, some of them were areas completely new to them where I think they could do well or ad
  11. Yacht rock heathens. I defy you to name a more iconic saxophone riff in popular music.
  12. Y'all sleepin on Gerry Rafferty?
  13. really scraping the bottom of the barrel for lists there.
  14. Heads up with Johnny World and as of last check almost dead even in chips.
  15. I was listening to a cast that talked about the history of the annual performance review and, after 100% handling this year's reviews for my directs for the first time, I may not have lived through some of their premises I couldn't agree more with their conclusion that most organizations suck at annual performance reviews.
  16. Now if Essay can get Strat in with pops, then you might have something. SA, setup a bourbon tasting with your dad and strat. Let's get some networking done, they don't call it the good ol' boy system for nothin.
  17. You could listen to the M-T podcasts on your commute. Start with one on ones.followed closely by rolling out the trinity.
  18. Most of the AE's seem to have the same sole except for the driving mocs and the verona's you posted (which I was just getting ready to post) which I think I like better than the first pair of verona's I posted. I also don't mind these loafers (same sole?) https://www.allenedmonds.com/customer-favorites/randolph-penny-loafer/SF4809.html?dwvar_SF4809_color=4809 I reject the loafers you posted tyvm. they look like dr martens made a pair of loafers or something.
  19. So for a guy who likes slip ons but hates tassles and equates penny loafers with the boomer generation what's the go to? ---edit under 4 or 5 bills.
  20. Thoughts? https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/shoes/loafers-slip-ons/arezzo-italian-loafer/SF55106.html?dwvar_SF55106_color=55106
  21. It's not where they went so much as how they got there. This pretty accurately reflects my thoughts on the season.
  22. I think I became desensitized to bad writing and deus ex character turns from the first 5 episodes of the season. When I first watched last night I was like "Ok, so that's how it ends. Fine." But I don't dare think about it because every action in last nights episode that I've thought about even briefly or discussed casually around the water cooler falls apart and/or becomes incredibly disappointing pretty quickly. A co-worker is re-watching from the beginning and he's starting to regret it knowing how bad it goes. At this point I think I'll just relegate it to the dustbin of trash tv and
  23. I think that scenario is like the 1% of the time you win that hand.
