  1. Yeah, i think looking back, i maybe should have folded preflop- just felt really nitty folding 77 preflop, though i am OOP.After a few more replies as to what to do, i will reveal what happens next. Im just intrigued as to what others would do. I just wondered, is folding preflop ok?

What would you do? The call preflop ok?In position i would flat call, but i am OOP, and if i call, what if the turn comes another rag? or a K?
  3. Yes, i am wanting advice. Maybe in the long run then Q7 isnt a good enough hand to be calling with. Each hand is different, and sometimes i will call a Q high board with Q-7, other times i will fold. This hand i felt my opponent was on a 7-x sort of hand. I didnt know what though, and whether a check behind is +EV in the long run.I have tried a new style of poker for the Turbo SnG's, and it has been working for the past 2 months, whether it works in the longer run, i will see. However, i will take every bit of advice i am given in these forums, so i will probably not call as light as Q-7s preflo
  4. If its just me and SB, which more often than not it is, i feel i can outplay him. If he has a big pair, he will fire at least 2 bullets. If he has A-10 and the flop misses him and comes 9-7-4, he will fire 1 bullet, then check if the turn misses him. Even if the flop comes 9d-6d-4h, he will fire 1 bullet. Regardless of my draw hitting or not, he will check then turn -assuming he misses- and i can win the pot with a bet. My hand, this early in a Turbo I find, is only of semi-importance. Position on him is the main thing. When the SB comes in, again, i have position. My read on him is (very aggro

  6. Ok, i meant your raise from .08-.16 wasn't that big, i would have raised to 0.2-0.3I dunno, im just not a fan of small/min raises. In my eyes it doesnt extract max value, sure it keeps your opponent in, but you dont have very much to show for it.The check on the flop and then min raise on 4th street looks very strong to me. Most semi decent players would notice this. All in all, at these stakes, simple poker is the best. Raise/Bet every street. Like i said before, these guys will call you with any hand. You must exploit this.
  7. Is this for 6 max/Full ring? Turbo/Non TurboI only pay 6max Turbo and i often like to just flat call if the blinds are low. Say i have 33 and the flop comes 884, when/if he cbets, raise him. When the blinds are higher, just push. I dont know about other games, but i find agressiveness and position is the key.Dont be afraid to fold though, as you say 1 in 7 times youll hit your set, if your not somfortable playing those 884 flops, just fold your hand and move on.Dont play hands cause you feel you HAVE to "oh i have 66 in the SB, i call." play your game, nobody elses.
  8. You more than double up didnt you? Is that not close to max value? - Though you probably wouldnt have got max value if that 3 hadnt hit. Villain probably thought he hit gin LOLTBH you played that hand pretty weird for a few reasons.1) DONT min-raise preflop, raise to .2-.3 at least to get max value.2) Why do you check that flop? to make it seem as though youve got AK?3) When you do get a guy to bet out on the turn, you min-raise him again. Why? Raise bigger. Remember, guys at these stakes will call you with any pair, any draw, so when you have a hand like QQ, you need to raise bigger than a m
  9. Its not that i feel i HAVE to, just that i WANT to. I figure that if i practise enough, and sit down with the same mindframe as i do for Sng's, then i can win. Also, there is a cash game down at my local casino, and i would love to sit down with them. i play with the guys at a tourney there, but ive never felt like sittingdown at the cash game with them.Just out of interest, how long have u been playing cash games for, and what limits do u play? Thanks
  10. Ok, thanks for your input. Ive never really been good at cash games in comparison to Sng's, and never new why.I'll probably just play .05/.1 NL 6max with HEM then until i make a steady profitI dont know what it is about the Turbo 6 max's. I just love em.!! Hopefully soon i will feel that way about cash games. I just dont want to have this big flaw in my game - that i cant play cash games. Thanks for your help mate

  12. Can anyone do this? I used to write it on a little bit of paper, but i guess this would be better LOL!Goals for April:1) Make a Profit (lol - always no1)2) Make a profit of at least $15003) By the end of April, have enough to be playing $38 6max SnG's on Stars4) Buy HEM (+learn how to use it!)5) Start playing .1/.25 on FTP and make a profit. (with a BR of ~$450) 6) Become a Silver Star on Stars7) Post at least 10 hands on this site to plug leaks.EDIT:8) Buy a contract phone. ( pay as you go sucks!)
  13. Simply because i want to be good at all aspects of poker - and that means mastering all types of games that are available in my eyes. I feel that i can enjoy Sng's much more because i can only lose x amount of money, no matter how many chips i have, but i want to get rid of that feeling when i am at a cash gameDo u play cash games/Sng's, or both Solar?
  14. Great, thanks a lot. Always wanted to no how these things work!!
  15. I used it the free trial months ago, but it was a waste. Never actually knew how it worked lolIve got holdem manager, but again, i dont no how it works. - How u input your hands etc.In fact, if someone could explain that, that would be great!! ( is pokertacker > Holdem manager?)Thanks for your response though, Andrew.
  16. Ive been playing poker for nigh on 2 years, and online for 1, serious for the past 6 months or so. Started off cash games, but stopped ages ago as i couldnt handle the swings on the micro stakes, and want to proper start at .1/.25 but with pokertracker - when i can afford that lol! So i changed to Sit n goes, and had moderate success at $3/$6 Turbos on PokerStars. Not making much profit, but profit nevertheless, with proper BR and solid poker, with the odd 3betbluff lolThe last month or so, i took a shot at $13 and $25 as i could afford it, and it really took off. People actually fold hands lo
  17. I play the same stakes and have to say i much prefer the SnG's for Stars.I play 6 max 3.25(Stars) and 2.25 6max (FT) and find that if ever i get short in FT there IS a lot more pressure on u to push sooner as the blinds increase at an alarming rate whereas for Stars, im not saying im amazing at poker, but the slower blinds gives me more room to play post-flop pokerAs for the rakeback, someone mentioned that the rakeback was higher for Stars. For 6 max anyway, it works out that its cheaper.
  18. I remember getting in this spot often enough. OOP hit set, bet flop and guy raises. I never no whether to re- raise or not. I like the call on the flop though, however i dont no why u lead out the turn, as hes represented a hand -maybe K9/K10, so why not let him bet and c/r him on the turn? Im intrested, not insulting your play lol. As for the shove , its ok i suppose, looks like a bluff, your prob only getting called by K-x, which he would re-pop ur river bet regardless of your push. I would make it smaller, but thats my opinion. Did he call?
  19. Yeah i totally agree. noticed these a ton more than usual especially Boris Beckers one! Love it!!Certainly not seeing as many FTP adverts compared to Pokerstars. Wonder why that is.
  20. Hi, quick question,I was wondering if there was any other form of PokerTracker or HEM to keep track of my results.I downloaded these like a year ago, when i wasnt playing semi-serious poker, and used up my free trials. - noob i know :(Right now, i play 0.05/01 6max NLHE at FullTilt, and would like to see how im doing, i keep track of my profits, but cant keep track of my Hands played per profit made. Is there any other form of Pokertracker? Thanks in advance, Andrew.
  21. Instacall! Surely with his stack, a higher Q woulda raised u on turn, this feels like a PP more often than not, not giving u credit for a Q. Possibly even a 2 IMO. Ive been playing at .05/.1 a lot recently and the standard of play is soooo bad.You must have given him a lot of credit though. i certainly couldnt.
  22. I only play at FullTilt, (the very low limits .05/.1) and ive noticed that players are especially loose during Happy Hour.People are more than happy to fire 3 bullets where players normally stop after the 2nd, during this time, and it has won me countless amounts of money!Dont know if this was just me, or just the tables im at, but that is the time to play in my eyes!
  23. Tbh, I would be inclined to Fold here, purely because how short the BB is. In my eyes, he is probably calling you here with any PP, any ace, and possibly K10+Also, your stack isnt THAT short, so you can fold this, and still have enough to push and your opponents arent priced in, in an orbits time. Its probably 50/50 though, because if you push and win, that you have added 15% to your stack, which is pretty nice. All in all, i would fold. I would be interested to see what other people say though.
