After seeing poker tracker on the DonkeyTest video tutorials I went and purchased it. I've been playing with the layout and set up on full ring games (talke about fiddley) and I'm wondering if anyone has a good tournament lay out config file that I could get a copy of. While I'm at it has anyone got a good 6 max lay out? Again it's no limit.** ninja edit**I did see the sticky and scanned it but couldn't see anything.

Thanks for advice so far guys. I know how to play poker but not doing a proper live tournament my poker self wants to make sure I don't give away any cheap edges. Ok I'm leaving my comfortable environment of online and venturing to a real poker room in the next 2 days. Obviously less hands per hour than online and the big one is opponents get to see you and how you act. I've googled away and come up with the general tips that you get about acting in turn etc... But having played a few home games I know the general way to act. I'm looking for some killer tips or advice. The poker room in question will have a % of UK pros in the mix. Do I need sunglasses and all that. Does a LAG style work as well live as it does online. Should I stick to my game or do I

No one has put a review of it up so I thought I might take Gus's examples and lead out :)I think small ball is the way to go. Granted from my limited sample since commencing the book (less than 75 MTT's) my chip accumulation skills have gone way up and I'm always up with the best of em in chips. Taking little risks. I'm onto the last chapter of the book now with the final table so hopefully I'll learn how to best use my chips stack on a final table MTT which plays much differently to my fimilar sit and go's. I cannot praise this book enough.

Ok I've about 150 pages left to read of this but should I not learn a single thing more then it would still have been one of the best poker books written in recent times (just on the back of the first 200+ pages). I caught a snippet of a readers letter in a UK poker mag Poker Player singing this books praises. The editor agreed and I was left wondering why I've not heard too much about it. Not read DNs book yet, although its next in line after Gus Hansens which I'm reading at the moment. Barry's is good. For me I get alot of emotional stability out of it. I play good for longer and don't loose it..... as much. Not revolutionary in playing moves, math or anything but good for keeping you on your game. Sklansky is over rated I think. He was the main writer back when I got into books but with todays game as it is you're better going with a top players book. Hi all. Looking at the promotional offer on pokerroom. 40% first desposit bonus.So thinking of dropping $300 for a $120 bonus. To activate the bonus I need 7 reward points per dollar bonus. So need (7*120) 840 reward points. 2 questions1. Whats the ratio for earning 1 reward point (checked site tna)?2. Is it possible to do it in 60 days? 840 reward points in 60 days?Appreciate any response to help me out.

If you raise pre flop(which you should) have a stab at it on the flop with , in this case, a $3-5 bet. If you get called your getting to see more cards, however you should slow down from here unless you improve. If you get re raised ont he flop it's ok to ditch. If he folds then you picked up the pot on a semi bluff. Key with AK is aggression, but not mindless aggression. If you have more people seeing the flop then consider the foloow up bet. Are they calling stations? are the tight? It's all situational but raising and re raising with AK is never a bad move just learn to give it up if they p

Not a good move pre flop. But now your in the hand your in it to win. If you want to follow it through(agg move) you might as well re raise the flop bet to get some more money into the pot(plus fold eq) and some more info on where your at. Calling is a bad move and you never get to find out where your at. Fold is perfectly acceptable as his bet is pushing you off the draw. Guess it comes down to your read but I say ditch and learn the lesson of junk hands to early position raises, most of the time the pre flop agg follows through on the flop always putting the decision on you.Note: Good move

Depends. What are your motives? To win or make money?If its to make money/slide up the pay scale. Don't risk it with bigger stacks. Attack the short stacks. If your wrong against a big stack your out. Against a small stack then you've only made a mistake but are still alive. To win?Your in a coin flip. There is alot of hands you have dominated and at worse your in a conin flip. You have a big enough amount of chips to take the lead and put yourself in with a shout. Depends how much that $200 meant but you seem happy with the 2nd place so the fold sounded good for you. This is a classic situ

I agree with some of your points about styles and chaging. But I think your going off track. Early on in a tourney I don't think any pro would call a 4 way all in with KK. Too early on, their risking tourney life, they would need/wait for a much bigger edge and pick their spots. They would avoid the risk, opting to survive and use there skill to outplay people. You can't outplay someone whos all in.

Survival poker is what a successful poker player plays in the early stages of the tourney. Doyle Brunson and co(only exception was Stu the Kid). The chip leader at the end of the first day has NEVER won the WSOP but he has taken many risks to become chip leader, risked his tournament life. Granted this is a STT but in the early stages your really winning nothing with this risk. Your buying yourself more time and extra chips to play with but your winning nothing. Each to his own I guess.

Thats a tough hand to fold. Nothing wrong with the call when no one had AA. Personally though as it was so early on I would have folded to 3 all in's. Let a good portion of the field get eliminated then count on your skill to win through. Patience. You can't win the tourney right there with that call. Would have set you up nicely but as the man said multiway any PP loses some strength. If you feel its a tough table then call. If you are confident then fold. Just my view. Unlucky on the hand though.

As above. Does anyone watch the online high stakes games for some tips? What do you get out of it?I watch poker on the TV but you get to see the hole cards with the camera. Personally I don't as I don't see what you can learn unless you know what people are holding. But it is something I have always wondered about. Thoughts....?

I wouldn't play 22 early on in a tourney. I wouldn't even limp let alone call a re raise. But the way things turned out was just one of those things. I would have been tough to fold a boat on that hand. I tihnk what happened was inevitable. The guy made a bigger hand and as Doyle said "I guess you just have to pay the man". Not a fan of your pre flop play though.

As title. What are your own mid pos starting hands that you use in a NL Cash game, 1$/2$, in a typically loose agg game.And do you limp with them or come in for a raise or re raise.

5-6 and 6-7 are my favs. The are better in NL cash games. You might not win every time but when you do win you usually win big pots. Don't go crazy with them and calling large raises. I like to come in with a small raise, to build a pot and give yourself odds to draw on a favourable flop, if i choose to play them.They do seem to win big when you hit a raggy flop, but don't call out of position and in bad situations or you could find they do more damage than good to your profits. Just my thoughts.

The quite ones I leave. The fish I congratulate. The trash talker players I try and wind up. Someone re raises them and they fold I say "Caught with your hands in the cookie jar? i think we all know you bluff a bit. " etc... If there an ass I try an be a bigger one. They always seem to start steamin and raising more. Man that was a lousy call. You got real lucky then.With the educated ones I always try act dumb. Call.Too good to throw too little to push. You still have time to catch a hand so I'd limp.Call/Push/Fold in that order.
