its pretty much the same in tourneys..

ive only flopped a straight flush before. that was only once on fulltilt, ive been playing there for at least a year. ive never had a royal flush, who has, and how long did you play before you got it??

if its play money then its a bad beat but understandable how the hand was played. With real money i never take bottom set to seriously, and i would of played it slower trying to avoid exactly what happened, but unless you are a god at reading people you cant see then chances are most people would go with it regardless.

that was the worst bad beat story ive ever read/heard/seen. thats a everyday beat that sucks. Bad beats are when you trips get beat by higher trips, or ur flopped flush gets beat on the river by a higher flush. your story happens to me everyday, maybe even at every table ive ever played at lol.

i guess you are right, at that table where everyone is a pro there isnt any real reason for pushing. But i didnt mean to imply that online tourneys and PAD are similar, just in a similar hand it would be MUCH harder to make that kind of read online........ *and i mightve gone overboard in saying tuan should be in the hall of fame for that one hand, but he was definatley the best player at that table.(lol even if i had that read id probably push anyway, but im not tuan le)

i think the tvs are really coool but a bad idea in a poker room, you wont play your best. so you should sit on the side with the tv, then turn it on to hockey or football, or maybe poker, everyone else is distracted except you!!!! Yay

i understand alot of what you are saying loosecannon, but after seeing the hand its easy to SAY you would have played the same. If you know the player you are against its easier to make that decission, but if it were on a online tourney (which is all ive ever played) where you cant even see you opponent; you, me, or even DN were probably going home after that hand.

You need to remember that HSP and PAD are two totally different formats, so it is necassary to cut out the less exciting hands on HSP. And Gabe Kaplan is a very funny guy, he rarely laughs at his own jokes. Like after he won PAD a few weeks back he was asked about the hand where he eliminated ali nejad with 3tens against ali's 3fours he said "what can i say the kid played the hand bad" Shana didnt know if she should laugh or what. His sense of humor is not for everyone but i think he helps the show regardless because alot of the older poker fans will tune in just because of the familiar face.

Twan Le should be in the poker hall of fame for that one hand, any other player at that table wouldve busted on that hand.

There is no real reason to be involved in this hand even if you think you have a good read, i would rather let the short stacks fight it out. To win tourneys you have to play basic solid poker and raise/calling with queen 3 doesnt make sense at all. Come on that question is an easy one for any pro.
