  1. Chase the ace.All players put a stake into a pot. ie $1.You then have 3 chips to represent lives. Each take it in turns to deal. The dealer deals everyone 1 card facard face down. The aim of the game is to finish with the highest card with ACE being the LOWEST and a KING the highest. The person to the left of the dealer can keep the card they have 'STICK' or swop their card with the person to their left. This process goes on until play gets back to the dealer. The dealer can either keep the card he has or cut from the deck. The person holding the lowest card at this point loses a life. If tw

  3. I haven't seen it so I would need more info to decide if it was a good play or not. Was Hennigan sat on a healthy stack? How was the rest of the table chip wise in relation to him? I stand by the fact it can be a good move! If Hennigan felt like keeping a ss on the table, the medium stacks will only start playing when the ss goes. Therefore bullying rights to him.
  4. It put me around 6th in chips and I scraped through to the final table. First one out once I got there but it's still a pay day. :-)

  6. Nothing wrong with what you're saying there. You are doing it for a reason, 1) to build the pot with a good drawing hand. 2) Exploit someone elses play. The difference is you know why you're raising. JisttheFist, with the first reply, hits the nail on the head I think. They think they have an unbeatable hand and want as many players and as much money in the pot as possible. Personally I don't want more than 2 players in the pot when I'm holding the rockets, they're just to vulnerable multiway. I think it was Brunson in SS who said, with AA you either win a small pot or lose a big one. I'll tak
  7. do players min. raise from the BB with 5 limpers when holding a great hand? In NL it's a complete waste of time in my opinion. I don't even think they know why they're raising most of the time! Ideally you want to get heads up if holding a tier 1 hand. I play a lot of connectors, usually suited, in multi way pots for the implied value when the deck hits you. If I'm in the pot I'm not folding to one more bet. Happened last night when I busted the BB's KK with 75s from the SB because of a poor raise. He goes all in on a board of 986, two spades on board. Just asking for trouble I think. If
  8. Pacific is soft but, you can only play one table at a time. I find myself having to have another site open to stop the boredom of playing a single table. Awful for MTT's too, only 800 starting chips!!!! Means you can't make any plays and it gets dull playing straight forward poker all the time.
  9. Depends what I want to play to be honest.MTT, I drop by Paradise. Always a decent one about to start with a variety of buy-in's and game choice. I like a decent Omaha Hi-Lo and it's the only place I know have a couple a day.S'N'G, It's got to be Party or Golden Palace. Party for the easy $$$ and when I'm sick of people calling me moron when I beat them, I drop by to Golden Palace. Thats really an unexploited site. Gets a bit of traffic (around 3500 at peak times) and is fun to play. Nice graphics, good speed and friendly players.Ring Games.....find your own soft games
  10. I find the structure at Golden Palace to be one of the best around. 2000 starting chips with 8 min. blind levels. Blinds start at 10/20 ( I think, not played there for a while). Not many what I consider quality players and always easy to get a game going at medium stakes ( $10, $25). Mainly populated by Europeans who are quite chatty and not abusive in the main. A nice place to play if it's a bit of fun you're after. If it's cold hard cash stick to the Party crapshoots. Sure you need to get lucky near the end to win, but a top 3 finish is almost a certainty against the general poor play.
  11. From The Big Lebowski:Life does not stop and start at your convenience you little piece of shit! From some comedian (can't remember who):Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window? If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?
  12. Playing a MTT on paradise recently and I'm bb with 2-3. Blinds are 5k-10k and I'm sat with 110k. Around 30 players left.Player UTG goes all in with 11k. Everyone folds around to me and I call for obvious reasons! Cards are turned over and he shows AKs. To cut a long story short a hit a wheel on the river and get berated by the UTG guy for "the worst call he's ever seen". Not only that 3 other players agree with him and proceed to call me dumbass and moron for about another 10 hands. As I don't believe it's good etiquette to teach at the table I remained tight lipped. So back to the question,
  13. It depends on the s'n'g structure. If it's a Party crapshoot I agree it's a poor move. With a better structured game I believe it to be a good move. If you're the cl with 2 average stacks and a ss where is the advantage in eliminating the ss? Much better to target the average stacks. It's just an opinion and I'm not saying it's perfect for every scenario. I just don't believe its the "THE DUMBEST MOVE IN TOURNAMENT POKER" . I think that award goes to calling an all-in with K-4s against my Q-Qand busting me with a flush. And then to be congratulated by the rest of the table on a "good call". :
  14. OK, first post and I gotta disagree. It's not always a poor move. Was the guy pushing you out of the pot the cl? If so maybe he prefered to have the ss still in the game. It gives him bullying rights. If you're more concerned about getting in the money than winning you can be pushed around waiting for the ss to go first. In the mean time the cl accumalates more from stealing of the medium stacks. Not always ideal and sometimes it can backfire. In the long run it does lead to more winning games because, by the time it gets three handed and you're in the money, the cl has an unassailable lead.Just
