  1. that may be true, but the anti-cubs fans are also saying that most cubs fans don't know anything about sports, and are there just for the party atmosphere. yeah we shouldnt generalize that we are the most knowledgeable fans (and i dont btw), but they shouldnt generalize that we all their just for the party. just because you don't know everyone on the rosters name, doesnt make you less of a fan. if the cubs lose, ill be rooting wholeheartedly for the padres (i love the maddog). Do i know everyone on their team, no, i know about 10 of them. But i will root for them and be a fan. I won't root for
  2. Hi I know this is where all the old timers come and dont really take kind to newcomers but just wanted to wish you and your family luck and well wishes. My join date and post count may be low but I have been at FCP since its roots almost, just never created an account. (as a test - i was here to see the best come and go - smash, marionsauce, dutch, mexico, teneight, FWP BEFORE he got banned for a year, Jayson Weber, etc). So though you may not know me by name ive been reading yours and many others for going about 3 years now so I just wish your family all the best.
  3. Honestly I agree with some of what you say, and I haven't been here long enough to know your reputation as being a guy with no credibility. But you have to take into consideration that though he may sit with 1million at the table, that is definitely not the buy-in. Also, he played 1k/2k for about a week, and that was during the WSOP. Now that he is back home, he most assuredly will be playing his typical 300/600 games. At these stakes, the buy in is not 1 million that you say, but 60,000. So if he does have a bankroll of 10 million. That is about 165 buy ins. Yes it is not 200 or 300 buy ins,
  4. correct me if i am wrong but is she the one with david benyamine? If so that give hope to all us fat guys. Except of course for the fact that I am not filthy rich nor do i have brilliant poker mind. Ok so it's little hope, but hope none the less.
  5. ty sir....i hope to have an absolute blast, hopefully the poker gods will let me. ::crosses finger:: and to the rest, thanks again for the suggestions. to the gent that mentioned the luxor arcade, ty but i looked at a vegas map and its really much further from the center of the strip, ty though for the heads up.
  6. hey all thanks for all the help. except for the smell, flamingo seems to have good reviews so i may go with that. i looked at the IP but since im with my kids, the whole spending little time in the room thing may not be true for me. i wont be out at night partying and drinking it up because the fam will be with me. so i may be around the hotel more often than most. so i figure flamingo, because of its pool may be best bet. any more suggestions will only help me so keep em coming if you guys got em. thanks!
  7. i actually looked at all of the sahara types, and cheap types but those are all off the strip. my kids will be with me so i want to be on the strip because i dont want them walking too far or having to take taxis or a bus. so sahara is a no go. cheap, but on the strip im looking for. anyone with any experience with the flamingo? or luxor?
  8. Hey all going to vegas in a bit. Looking to stay on the strip. So far the cheapest ive seen is Imperial Palace. Next cheapest is either flamingo or luxor. Finally i'm looking at either monte carlo or planet hollywood, but on my budget those are the least likely. Ive looked at all the others (mgm, venetian, paris, and frankly are too much. So i just need help choosing between the 5 i mentioned) I heard imperial palace is a total junkland so i am leaning toward flamingo or luxor. Anyone have any suggestions/ experience between the two? I will be with my kids so ive heard flamingo has an awesome
  9. posted this in the official event thread for this tourny but for the sake of conversation will post it again here. anyone catch all these updates? http://news.pokerpages.com/index.php?optio...iew&id=2323mentions scotty and eli made some sort of undisclosed deal. Also mentions eli got 10-1 odds on him not winning a bracelet from barry. I'm guessing the deal may have been something along the lines of "hey scotty i'll shave some money off the top of my winnings from the tournament and barry if you let me win." I know some naive people may say the bracelet may mean more to these guys, but let'

  11. anyone know what the maximum you can request with bodog is, and does it come in cash using western union? i live in a shady area and would feel uncomfortable leaving a currency exchange with a couple thousand in cash in my hand? i normally do check but my last one was requested in april and i still haven't gotten it yet. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
  12. to some of you maybe its huge, to others peanuts, but it was about 3000 ish. So i lost 1500 of my own since it was just two of us
