  1. Bump.I'd be willing to consider games in the Kingston "area," as well...I'm sure one of y'all knows of something!
  2. Hello FCP,I used to post fairly frequently a few years ago as part of the Toronto FCP crew (shout out to Gov, Royal, Mr. McFold, Teddy, Jansen and the rest! I've relocated to Kingston, ON and am looking for a regular home game. Please feel free to PM me with any and all information, or post it in this thread. Also, a message for Gov...I'm not totally up on the forum rules these days, so if this sort of topic is not permissible, please do what you have to do.Take Care,Simmy Sim
  3. Uhhhhhh...I live in Canada...where the IRS has no jurisdiction...In any case...your screen name and avatar...not funny...at all.Okay...maybe a little.On second thought...not really.
  4. Geez, I should get booted more often, as the amount was more than twice the buy-in.
  5. So about an hour ago I received an email message that a $200-ish deposit had been made into one of my online poker accounts. I didn't make the deposit. The payment method is listed as "cash," which is something I've not seen before. The site has been down a few times in the last 24-hours, and I did get booted out of a SNG last night due to those problems, but the amount of money in the mystery deposit has no relation to that SNG? When the site went down, there were four of us left, three places paid, and I was in fourth place. The mystery deposit is more than third place would have paid, but l
  6. So my lady and about six of her friends will all turn 30 this year, and they want to take a trip to Vegas to celebrate. We would be flying from Toronto and would be staying for two to four days in the late Spring.Any suggestions regarding cheap flights, rooms etc.?Thanks very much,Simmy Sim
  7. I received the same message.I can't understand why the company would take this position in regards to its Canadian customers. I've only used firepay a few times, and only did so during the period that I was having problems with my neteller account (I'm American and opened the neteller account when I lived in the US. It took multiple phone calls for neteller to accept the fact that I've lived in Canada for years and that the only bank account linked to my neteller account is Canadian).ANYWAY, this is absurd...do we need to start a poker player's residential community in Costa Rica or something?
  8. Disclaimer: All of the following is my best recollection. This event was characterized by good/excellent play from everyone. Most of us found ourselves in situations where the “correct” play ended up resulting in losses. (except for the first big pot during the first hour…perhaps the other guys will offer their thoughts about this…). What made this especially exciting and/or interesting and/or heartbreaking, was that many of these hands provided above-average moments of drama, but only AFTER all the betting was completed. Example #1: During the fifth level, I was getting short, raised pre-flop
  9. I had a good time as per usual.I played not so great as per usual. It's a good thing Fred is an excellent host, 'cause he is Captain Luckbox From Hell with small pocket pairs. Thanks to all...I'ma thinkin' we'll do it again!
  10. And as I wrote in the other thread, I indicated on Saturday (in that thread) that "I'm in" for this game. Please add me to the official list. Thanks again to all those who are working on this event.
  11. So sign me up Fred...I'm currently kicking checky's *** in a FT tournament...sort of...lotsa people left...nealry all of 'em...rightANYWAY, I'll do the same on Sunday.Heh.
  12. Hey kids,If y'all look back a few pages, you'll see that I indicated that "I'm in" for this game a few days ago. If there is still space (my name seems to be absent for the lists of confirmed people), then please add me. Simmy Sim
  13. 2 P.M.?!?!?!?!?OMG, WTF...Fred you are the biggest jerk of all-time. Who went and made you the Toronto god of time-selection? I mean, if we play 100 tournaments in a year and start at 2 P.M. each time, thats, like, eleventy billion hours of missed sleep.Well, good luck with it.sw
  14. I'm in. 120+20 or 140+20 are both fine with me, especially if there is a dealer...will there be a dealer?I'll wait for the PM with details...thanks to all who are working on this event.Perhaps Danny N. himself will attend this one...not holding my breath.
  15. What would the payout structure be? Depending on the answer, I would be interested in a higher buy-in.
  16. I would be interested. $100ish buy-in would be good. Biggity bam.
  17. Only a $10 tournament (1st is about $900), but I’m always lookin’ for the support of the FCP Army!Come and banter and diss my opponents.I'm in 6th of 9.
  18. Oh, erm, uh, hmmmmmmmm...dude, I'm no Mr. Moneybags here, but if you've been playing like crap as per usual and are broke as a result, I could lend you a few bucks.sw
  19. I am a US citizen, but I am a legal Permanent Resident of Canada (they used to call this status "Landed Immigrant").
  20. In my case, the money would be leaving the roll for the future purchase of a home and/or for retirement.
  21. Heh, heh...don't worry, I clearly see the irony in asking this bunch of degenerates for investment advice. [sw]However, there have been some good discussions on this forum about this sort of thing, so I'm hoping that those "in the know" will surface.
  22. I’m looking for a bit of financial advice from those with experience (professional or otherwise) in this area. In the past, there have been some great posts on this forum about various investment strategies, and I think my situation may also apply to other poker players who are trying to decide how to invest their moderate winnings (i.e. please don’t move this mods!):I recently acquired a low-five figure (US dollars) sum that is currently in a low-interest account with one of the major financial companies. I’m looking to move this money into a more profitable investment, but I’m not sure what
