  1. I think that is the interesting question. I would have to guess it is correct.
  2. You got the ace of both flush draws. If you have gigantic nuts, you could call the turn and if a club or heart comes shove. That means you hope they check to you though and hope the flush hurts/scares them. It is only 3 dollar tourney so maybe this is the time to work on moves like that and see how players react, however if you are looking to get paid here the best bet is to dump it if you cannot get all in pre-flop.
  3. Anyone have information about Omaha in the Phoenix area?
  4. I play in a crazy home game which I have mentioned before. Not uncommon for many of the guys to have 2 grand on them in this game. We play a lot of 2-4 PLO/8 and 1-2 PLO/8. We actually cut back to 1-2 because the pot sizes were bigger and people gave much more action. So anyway the following hand came up last time we play just before Christmas. This is the craziest thing I have seen in the game.6 players dealt in. Everyone calls pre-flop because we pretty much do this blind in this game. Me and one other guy are the only ones who fold pre-flop to no raise. Raises occur about 40% of the t
  5. Is this suggesting aggressive play with the nut low. For instance, 3 people in and yo uflop the nut low only and no high redraw. early position pots, second person calls. Are we shoving here? My guess is that the weaker high will fold, but in this position the same nut low will call. I am also starting to wonder if we should be folding these types of situations with nothing but nut low.I like to play nut lows aggresively when an A or a 2 is on the flop and my nut low is like a 23, or 24 or something, but when you make the nut low with an A2, I am usually fairly conservative trying to keep
  6. There is the advice I was looking for and this makes perfect sense. Check/calling the flop is horrible. I am in early position here. Perhaps, due to action a c/r would be decent to put huge pressure on the the two or three possible lows to act behind me. But without knowing what the action would be, not throwing out a pot bet would be bad in first position. All stacks in question had enough to call a pot turn without being all in. Which we all did. It was stupid of me not to bet the flop and not to fold the turn. The river didn't matter. We all checked around to the aggresor who potted
  7. It is pot limit hi lo, not limit. Later streets are huge bets and I need to expect that. I have put maybe 10 bucks into this pot, but if I call a pot bet on the turn and river, I will lose over 50 expecting to be quartered at best and possibly only get 1/6. That was my rationale.
  8. Hi. Soo confused... why are people assuming this is PLO/8? I don't see anything in the post to suggest that unless I am blind. Given the hand converter doesn't post $ amounts, don't we assume it is limit?
  9. Playing bodog. PLO/8 1-2. I have A2kk not suited in the SB. Raise to $4 with 6 players in and I call along with BB.Flop is rainbow 345. I check and two other do too. Mid position bets 1/2 pot , one caller to me. I call and two behind me do too. 5 players to turn. 9 comes off meaning nothing. 3 checks again including me, then the same guy pots it. 1 caller to me.I am guessing at least one behind me calls here too. I gotta fold this right? I am quartered at best and probably looking at a 67, 26 or even worse a26 at least.Been playing about 5 minutes when this came up.
  10. You slow played again.... Why call when you have the nut high and nut low draw, then raise when you loose all that on the turn? Get the money in good on the flop, not scared on the turn.
  11. Stop playing for a while. Sick of poker and dreaming up brainless styles of play usually leads to money dumping.
  12. Hi - I am confused here. Are you betting for value? What could the BB call the turn with? I am guessing you are betting as a chance to scoop without showing. Assuming this guy isn't a total idiot with A-3, you gotta have the low here and you are hoping the guy didn't fill up his high with something like 22xx down? He is also a moron is he calls the turn with two diamonds and no low, or 3-7 low and no high, or something like that.I am not criticizing, simply curious why you are betting the river. What do you do if the guy repots? I know check-raising the river for any reason in PLO/8 is
  13. You don't. But you still raise. Slow playing backfires too often in plo/8.did he have a 4?
  14. You flopped second nuts. Don't slow play on the flop by calling. You are only afraid of 44 and you want to move him off of any other 4. You are way ahead of anything but 44 that can bet the flop. Raise the flop. Fold the river. He probably had a 4 with a low draw and the button had a2.Course I have never played .02 plo/8 either. The play may be much different there. Move the decimal two over to the right and I would do what I say to do here.
  15. Agreed. Live it is even better. Just saying "pot" gets me moist. I love the excitement created when I say pot and four guys not in the hand get so excited they all try to count the pot and bets and such to figure out what a pot bet is. Alternatively our home game can be very very slow since you have a mixture of white and red chips, cash, and signed over 3rd party checks to count. When the 3rd party checks come into play, it is even more fun to call pot. In our game, if it has countable value, it can be thrown into the pot.
  16. Raise the flop and he may muck a weak 4. Fold the river because there is no way he doesn't have a 4 (except for the fact that this is super micro limit and players may simply be donking around).
  17. I know exactly why a288 called.... The post flop lead by a horrible and rich player meant made low with 23 at best. This bettor would've probably raised pre-flop in middle position with AA and the a288 guy to act has second set so he believes his high to be good at that moment. He also would've re-potted the flop if I hadn't raised pre-flop. He called hoping I didn't have the set of aces, meaning I had to have the case two aces. Once I re-potted he new I had it and dropped. He called simply because he knew what the original bettor had, knew he was not a good player at this game, and he h
  18. My PLO/8 experience is nearly all live in a home game that is absolutely crazy. 8 to the flop normally with very few raises pre-flop. 2-4 blind PLO/8. Most guys simply call any pre-flop raise with any 4 cards looking to pick you off on the flop. It is extremely aggressive and very high action. Most pots are about 400 bucks (we had a 2700 pot recently where I flopped nuts both ways and ended up getting 1/6 of the main pot). In this game, without a raise I sometimes play blind pre-flop and throw my 4 in. It is all about post flop play and I check fold most hands post flop. I treat the 4
  19. I shoved because the first player is rich and horrible... a great combination. He could have 23 or bottom 2 or anything. He just pots, then calls the repot all the time. The second player is pretty good and I figured he had enough to stick around, specially after the first guy called my raise. He made a great laydown though with a288.I thought all the money was going in on the flop, but of course if I knew he had 88 I would've simply called and let him pot the turn.
  20. Home game, 1-2 PLO/8. We get together every couple of weeks and this game now dominates this home game. This is good since only two of us know what we are doing in it and everyone loves the action. The game is very loose pre-flop and the pots get very large at times. Not uncommon to have a few 700+ pots. So we were playing Friday night 8 handed and I get AdAs2d3c on the button. Everyone limps for 2 to the cutoff who raises to 4. I pot to 23 and get 5 callers.Flop is Ah, 4d, 8s. UTG immediately bets pot for $123 and to his left immediately calls. Two folds to me on the button. Some back
  21. Not a brag post... Here is why.I simply called the bet on the flop (worst of the three moves I can make - should've raised or folded) and bets continued until player 1 and 6 are all-in. I cannot totally remember how it went down, but I about 450 left in front of me. The turn is a sickening 8c. Player 3 calls all-in and I am feeling horrible. I regrettingly called the 450 on the turn. The river doesn't matter - no 7 which is the only card to help me. So here are the ridiculous results. NO ONE HAD CLUBS.... I was shocked by that.Player 1 took no part of the pot and had 3-6-x-xPlayer 3 m
  22. I pull 500 wins out of that game often. Way bigger stakes than I play online, but I am comfortable with a grand on the table in this game.
  23. Home game that has been very lucrative for me. We are playing 2-4 blind omaha hi-lo. Rarely does anyone fold pre-flop and due to that, large raises are uncommon pre-flop as well - we like to gamble and it is not uncommon for people to have side blackjack and craps action during poker hands. We have all played together for years so we know each other fairly well in this game. Previous hand I just scooped a 550 pot with flush over flush and no low came. Next this hand came up...6 guys in the pot pre-flop so I will just call them 1-6. I am player 5 with Ax3c6x8x and no club draw so suits do
  24. never did hear what the winning hand was.
