  1. In a $10 multi on AP 150 started, 100 left, 18 cash I have about 2900, avg is 2200 and the blinds are 30-60Pretty normal table, nothing special, if anything fairly tightEP limps, I limp with Q 10 in MP , cutoff, button, sb all limp, BB checks. BB is the only one who has me covered at 6k, everyone else is around 1600- 2500flop is J 9 7 which obviously is very pretty for my hand... SB, BB, EP check to meI consider all of my optionsA) check with the intention of raising B) check with the intention of callingC) bet to thin the field/ build a pot/ take it down right there I finally decided on
  2. ya daniel should go back to playing in the big game since he is obviously outmatched in 100/100 and oh ya... "I have played in all the stakes games they have to offer from 2/4 to 100/200, $100 NL to $10k NL." TP/MM
  3. Live tournament Blinds are 100-200 with a 25 chip ante5 left, Im short stacked with 2700, everyone else has around 13k Im UTG with 99 anyone even consider limping here to see a safe flop... and get all our chips in if someone raises behind us i pushed here and the flop was AK10... and know i would have still been alived if i limped, i know this is kind of results oriented but im just frustrated Jack
  4. just curious how the hand changes if an ace hits the turn instead of a Q I know this is awful but does anyone like checking the turn and either checking behind him or calling a river bet? should this be considered or no
  5. just curious, i know you said lead the turn... but if he check calls do we give up on the river ui. call or fold a 3 bet on the flop? call or fold a raise on the turnI call preflop... out of position mainly, but im no screech
  6. Why not cap preflop? seriously, why not? I cap preflop and call the flop because i dont think our aggresion is going to get him to laydown anything marginal, even if he does check to us on the turn. reevaluate on the turn, by not raising the flop we may be ok to fold ui.
  7. so copernicus, you like my bet and call on the flop, and check calling on the turn? So how much do you bet on the river and obviously its an easy fold if he raisesStill want to hear from zim on why he wants to get all of his chips in here
  8. so is there any way you fold this hand here? even against QJ we arent that big of a favorite, and if we are bet we are practically drawing dead...
  9. say i do raise to 600, and he comes over the top of me all in? then what? im pretty sure he doesent just call my reraise and this is where we run into our problem
  10. zim i really dont like raising here. In fact i like folding on the flop before raising... I think raising forces us to go all in with just bottem 2 pair, and i dont think theres any reason to do this when we have 1380 in chips left with low blindsthoughts
  11. i agree with what you guys are saying.... so would you push after he reraises us on the flop, ort just make it like 600 and possibly fold to an all in
  12. i see what you guys are saying but im still unsure if i could have played the hand differently and more correctlymy bet on the flop, the call on the flop, and the check call on the turn... anyone do anything differently here
  13. early in a sitngo on AP the villian and I both have 1500, which is the average with 9 players leftBlinds 15-30 Im in the BB with 10-8 MP limps, button(villian) limps, SB folds, i check... pot 105flop: Q-10-8 rainbowI bet out 90, MP folds, villian raises to 210... I ????I calledturn was a 7, I ????I checked villian made it very easy for me and I check called 150 river was a J and we went check, checkthoughts?
  14. The fulltilt.net tournament on thanksgiving ran live over the course of 4 hours on tv. My cable had the tournament scheduled to run from 6 est to 10 est. The tournament began at 6 and ended at 10 exactly. So how did the cable know to schedule it for 4 hours, and not 3 or 5It just seems odd to me that it was a live tournament but was able to end just in time for FSNs 10:00 showSomeone tell me what im missing in all of thisthanks, jack
  15. gambled away and got $20 up to 1k in a week playing $20,30,40, and 60 sitngos/... lost that 1k in a week playing $2,6, and 10 sitngos... now how often do you hear that
  16. yea, FSN is airing last years Monte Carlo right now. Ivey finishes third in last years event
  17. k its starting.... im in, worm109pretty big tournament for AP, with over 600 entrants
  18. explain overlay to me... im not quite sure what it means
  19. anyone know what happens in this tournament. I saw it on tv today and it was on fsn... Ivey was the chip leader at the end of this particular episode.. I figured it was a semi-old event but daniels blog just said that ivey had to go to monte carlo, so it coulden't have been that long ago. whatever... i just had a session where i lost half my bankroll playing $60 and $100 sitngos, then won most of it back playing $20 and $30 ones so it was a marathon session with tons of grinding to say the least... Jack
  20. Intersting... This is a tough call here but im leaning toward folding. Its a classic small pair situation in which your either a slight favorite or a huge dog (with an outside shot that your a huge favorite). I thinkyour decision depends on how good your playing, and how bad your table is... Do you think youll be able to outplay your opponents winning small pots without too many confrontations? If the answer is yes than its an easy fold, if its no than its a tough call that you have to make and hope to get lucky. Just remember to do well in a touranement your going to have to get all in and ge
  21. Thanks for the advice... Another thing I do when stealing is raise less than 3X the BB. For example if the blinds are 300-600 I will raise it to 1500 or 1450 instead of the standard 1800. I find this to be effective later in tournaments because if someone doesen't find a hand they will still fold to my raise and if a shorter stack finds a big one, I have saved myself 300 if he comes over the top. I don't know if anyone else does this but it seems to work for me. The biggest problem I have with stealing is how much the continuation bets always cost me. I'll get one caller and he will check to m
  22. This question mainly pertains to multi tables but could be good for sitngos as well. At what point in a tournament do you begin to steal blinds. I guess there are three types of stealing: raising with AJ, A10, 88, 77,66, KQ, and KJ where you are happy if you get called and are happy if you win the blinds. Raising with a hand like QJ, J10, A8, 44,33, 22 where if you are called you might need the ability to outplay your opponenets on the flop even if you hit Raising with a hand like 94, 65, 10-7 where you will only do this in late position just looking to steal the blinds and praying they fold.
  23. I think you played the hand fine, Your raise on the flop was terrific because not only did you give him the chance to fold right there but you also got yourself a free card on the turn. IMO betting the turn is a bad play, because it seems like our villian here will call any decent sized bet we make, and if he just calls the turn that means more trouble for us because if he calls the turn and checks the riv then it almost seems like we have to bet because he has shown so much weakness.. so essentially by raising the flop and betting the turn we have to bluff the river and we have just gotten ou
  24. Yes I know calling and seeing a flop is the best way not to go broke here. I guess what I am wondering is if moving in right there is +EV because of the range of hands I would get called with in that spot. Since it was the first hand of a $5 tournament, my opponent doesen't neccesarily have to have AK, AA, KK...
  25. I like how me and Zim were the only ones who put any logic into the decision yet you still went with "all in predlop, or all in after the flop" because they said "yep, all in before the flop, if for whatever reason you aren't already all in, just move in on the flop." ... A lot of logic behind thatI dont care that much thoughJack
