  1. They very likely have dyslexia or some other learning disability?
  2. “I think the biggest responsibility is when you lose Tony Richardson. He’s pretty much the focus of the running game. I think that was a big, big hurt.” I really like the way he says "pernts" instead of "points."
  3. I really wanted to be an early adopter, just once in my miserable life. I'll try referring to somebody sarcastically "brain master" at work in the next few hours, see if I can get a laugh.
  4. For the record, I graduated from MSU and got a 26 on my ACT. I'm not any kind of genius. I don't think I was trying to disprove anything Scram said. The two most important parts of my post were that Incognito has a moon face and NFL teams actually knock players DOWN a few pegs if they have abnormally high Wonderlic scores. As far as Incognito goes, he's probably not an idiot, which is something we all knew in the first place, as it takes at least some intelligence to psychologically humiliate and manipulate someone. (Or at least some low cunning) But let's not anoint him Master Brain, etc.
  5. The biggest factor in the Wonderlic is time, specifically recognizing trap questions that require significant calculation, and then skipping those questions. It's 50 questions in 12 minutes, so you've got a shade under 15 seconds to answer each questions. The questions themselves test basic math and logic skills. (If a pencil costs .60 cents, how many pencils will three dollars buy? All men wears a hat. Terry wears a hat. T of F or uncertain: Terry is a man.) A 32 on the Wonderlic indicates that the taker's intelligence is likely above average. I wasn't really arguing that. I was, howe
  6. I AGREE EXCEPT FOR THE WEIRD CONTRADICTION. Predictions for Cano. Team/Years/AAV
  7. Can we at least agree he looks dumb? Total moon face. And 32 on the Wonderlic is not exceptional or anything. Average for an offensive tackle is 26. I know absolutely nothing about any of you, but I have no doubt that you, me, Sklansky or McGee would have no trouble making a 32 on that exam. Incognito probably isn't stupid, but let's hold off on calling him a genius. That being said, I remember reading once that an abnormally HIGH Wonderlic score is as much of a deterrent as a low one (QB excepted). Coaches are terrified of the idea of a player who is legitimately the smartest person i
  8. Drats. No luck. My corner was a bit of a longshot anyway, but I'll try one of the real places tomorrow or Wednesday. There's a great joint one town over that has seven aisles of liquor, and more scotches than I'll be able to try in a lifetime and every bourbon I've ever heard of. I get my Buffalo Trace, there, so I imagine they carry the rest of their bottles. Tonight, two fingers of Pappy 15, and at least half a bottle of Elijah Craig 12 while I watch the pilot of The Wrong Mans, which I've heard reasonably good things about
  9. I've never had it. I'm actually going to a liquor store now. If they have it, I'll pick up a bottle. EDIT: Pretty much everything from Buffalo Trace is good, so far as I know, and I just saw they make Elmer
  10. Isn't Bookers like $70 a bottle? I'm not nearly baller enough to consistently down $40 bucks of a booze a night and not hate myself
  11. Every time I watch the show, I end up casually polishing off half a bottle of bourbon, yes. What is your "house bourbon?" As much as I drink, it's never really made sense to me to get all hammered on expensive liquor, so I usually keep a few bottles of something nice around for my first drink, and then transition to something that I can use to get ****ed up, something that's drinkable, but not prohibitively expensive. To that end, I drink Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig 12, and Old Grandad 114 proof for the nights I happen to accidentally make eye contact with myself in a mirror, but I'm open to s
  12. Sometimes Jamm and Jim point at me at the exact same time, and then, at that very moment I feel like, more than ever, I feel like it's my fucking birthday. Maybe, right then, it's everyone's birthday? If it's your birthday, Happy Birthday. If not, still Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday to all of you guys, you guys.
  13. Cardinals give Jhonny Peralta 4/53. Good/Bad/Fair? (Steamer has him at +2.7 WAR if he gets 600PA. He was +3.7/448 +2.5/585 +4.9/576 over the last three years.)
  14. Oh man, I just watched S1E11, and I think I kind of forgot how banging Winona was. That dress, with the belt, and the hair, as she's fumbling around, desperate to get a deep dipthong from Raylan....
  15. The only other thing I've seen him in is Breaking Bad, and I thought he was just fine. He didn't have that big of a role. I don't know why, but I really like way Daniel Faraday plays Dickie Bennett. I didn't love him in LOST, but some reason the way he plays Dickie just kills me. "Put your foot in, Walt. (does weirdly smooth snake thing with his arms and points gun at Walt's head)" Frankly, the show is filled with top-notch actors, even in the small roles. Stephen Root is good as Judge Reardon (though I've always had a soft spot for him), Nick Searcy as Art, and I really like Jacob
  16. I am too drunk to continue this conversation but tomorrow I will read whatever nonsense I wrote, correct it, and offer an intelligent opinion. For now however I CHOOSE TO VOMIT ON MYSELF AGAIN
  17. I think he's better than Percy Harvin, because I have always pretty much hated Percy Harvin, and isn't Percy Harvin still hurt?
  18. The list of Deadwood/Justified crossovers is super long. Off the top of my head, apart from the people I think I've mentioned, Harry Manning and Danny's sidekick Johnny are both in Justified, and I know I'm missing people. My favorite cameos, though, are Patton Oswalt and Mike from GUTS
  19. I agree completely that Olyphant has had the misfortune of being cast alongside some of the greatest characters in history (Ian McShane). Having to compete with Swearengen is like pitching to Bonds: it doesn't make any difference how good you are, he's going to make you look stupid. But I don't think that means Olyphant doesn't have range. I could be wrong. I really like Olyphant as Bullock, and I love him as Raylan. I honestly can't imagine anyone else playing either role. He's playing characters that are absurdly inflexible much of the time, so maybe Olyphant can't do anything else, but
  20. You'll be really happy to know that Jim Beaver (AKA ELLSWORTH) plays a huge role in season 4, and is the impetus behind my favorite episode of the series, s04e11.
  21. "Well I hope you understand, Raylan, that I can't let anything stand in the way of my divine calling." Good luck with that "No luck needed. Hello daddy!" (goofy Goggins trot)
  22. Do you mind if I asked what scene/episode/whatever made you change your mind? I like Olyphant in Justified, but I do take your point. He's a loner-type, which makes it hard to build stories around his interactions with other people. Whenever he's around another person, the interaction is certain to become antagonistic, and that makes identifying with the main character difficult, if not impossible. Now, that can work in film, because we don't have to spend too much time with the protagonist, and the time we DO spend with him is in service to a single, driving plot. And it also works w
